The Black Dahlia Murder, Throne of Lunacy. Face-ripping technical death metal, an awesome song from an excellent album. These guys, along with Children of Bodom and Skeletonwitch, put on an amazing show last night.
I wasn't really a big Children of Bodom fan before last night, but it turns out they're great performers. I highly recommend. Children of Bodom, In Your Face. For the rest of the songs, Alex gave a quick intro mentioning what it was about and its name. For this one, he just played the opening riff and the place went crazy. This, along with Skeletonwitch's lead singer screaming 'This song is about Satan!!' to open the show, was the highlight of the night.
LOL. I dont know if I could last at a concert like that --I want to go to all the crazy ones, but I need a huge footballer (or ten) to take care of me. I'd love to go to Ozzfest, Marilyn, or Slipknot... but all I can think of is what happens if 4 foot 11 inch me gets caught in the wall of death... I went to a pretty big, punk & hard rock concert recently, and some of the pits that broke out were a little scary; I ended up with a lot of bruises, and I was on the outside! I'm not a major CoB fan either, but I like "Are You Dead Yet?" a lot. "Wake Up" by Three Days Grace. That reminds me, I need to check out their new album with my iTunes gift card. ... "Wake Up" came out when I was ten or eleven years old, I think. I remember screaming really loud over the F-Bomb, so my mom wouldnt get mad at me for having the CD.
Behemoth, Daimonos. 'All hail the slain and risen god! All hail Dionysus!' gets my vote for catchiest chorus this year.
"I'll Make a Man out of You" from the Disney's Mulan soundtrack. (So mostly Donny Osmond.) I had the biggest crush on Captain Li Shang (the guy Mulan ends up falling in love with / the general's son / the commander who trains Mulan) when that movie came out. Disney soundtracks are so awesome. Mulan had a great one (yay, Christina Aguilera); I really loved Tarzan's soundtrack (Yay, Phil!) and Hercules' soundtrack.
You know, Anastasia had a great soundtrack too; especially Vlad's song --you know the one, where they're on the boat and he sings "I never should have let them dance." Also, Aaliyah was just great. xx Another great 90s song: "Hands Clean" by Alanis Morrissette. Man. This song brings back a lot of memories!
Why are Disney soundtracks so incredible? Their teenybopper artists--Miley and JB and all the rest (although admittedly Selena Gomez is pretty awesome)--are horrible, but the movies are great.
Give A Little Bit by Supertramp. I quite enjoy it and perhaps I will play it on my guitar if I ever get determined enough to practice...sigh.
Yeah, I've got them somewhere on a computer, I just have no idea on which one exactly... I want to listen to them!!!
Lullaby - Dear Juliet. This is defenitely one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard, really. I love it.
