All I Want For Christmas (is to kick your ass) - Midnight Riders In 1987, the Midnight Riders were asked to participate in a children's charity Christmas album with their rock peers. The Riders refused. In a 1993 Guitar God Magazine article, Dusty explained: "Givin' kids charity just makes 'em weak, man. Teach a kid to fish, he can eat fish his whole life. Teach a kid NOT to fish, he starves to death. Where I come from that's murder, Homes." A few years later, the Riders grudgingly agreed to participate in a 1998 Christmas album in exchange for not having to do 30,000 hours of community service. "All I Want For Christmas is to Kick Your Ass" was written, recorded and mailed in less than one hour.
"If Everyone Cared" by Nickelback. I don't care if this band is starting to sound like every song's the same, since I love what they're working with and that the video for this is very inspirational. Lots of things I didn't, and should have, known.
Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) - The Offspring. Irritates the heck out of me, but for some reason I still love it.
They're back together? When did this happen, that's awesome. A Hero A Fake, F-16. It came for free with another cd I bought, so I guess for the price I paid it's pretty good.
I think it's only for a reunion tour, but I would love for them to be back together again in general. It was actually very weird. I was searching the internet for a possible Soundgarden reunion and found nothing but the same old interview with Cornell about how he "wouldn't be opposed to it." That was from a couple years ago. The very next day as I sign out of my email, I see the headline in music news. Awesome.
"The Wayfarer" by Nightwish "She Is My Sin" by Nightwish I lament each and every time I listen to old-school Nightwish, but I wish Tarja never would have left the band. It just sucks now. Even the music does; I cant listen to their new stuff anymore. Tuomas even said that he had to change the music's tempo, dramatic nature, and pitch so it could fit Anette's poppier singing instead of Tarja's classical... It's not that Anette's voice is bad exactly; it's just that it doesnt fit the Nightwish everyone was so fond of. ...I was never a huge fan of Soundgarden, but it's cool that their back together. No new material though? Now if only System of a Down fans (and Nightwish fans!) could be so lucky.
System of the Down fans will never get that wish unfortunately. And I didn't even bother buying new Nightwish, the old cds were too good, and I really can't tolerate new singers coming in.
Like how I refuse to listen to Chinese Democracy because it's not the vintage GNR that I love. Axl may be the same, but he's kidding himself if he thinks he can go on without the old band. However, THAT reunion will probably never, ever happen.
It could happen. They left on a good note, so they're probably scared to ruin it. IMO, they were one of the best if not the best grunge band of the 90's. Chris Cornell is one of my major vocal influences. Due to drugs, he did go through some rough patches vocally when he was in Audioslave, but he was all better by their third album. In fact, that's what their song Moth is all about. I love that song! Even before I knew what it was about, I could just listen and imagine someone triumphantly breaking free from the shackles of some danger or addiction. Pretty badass riff as well. Chris Cornell has one of the greatest rock voices of all time. Fact. Oooh, I gotta go listen now. Moth - Audioslave
Yeah, I wasn't sure. Just sounded like something a Nirvana fan would say. I agree about the AiC album. No Layne, but still good.
Mine as well. I like how they didn't just try and find someone who can do a good Layne impression to fill his spot. They got someone totally new with their own style, but kept the same flavor as classic AiC. Very well done.
