I think going up to a stranger and saying hello is fine. But if you don't want it to get awkward you may want to think ahead to what you might say after they say hello back. You know. Conversation.

Yeah. It's only awkward if the conversation dies.

    Indeed.

I find it easier to talk to girls than guys, to be honest. Most of my friends are female. I just get on with them better. Perhaps it's because everyone reckons I'm a good listener. I dunno.

Ditto. It's just that, well, except for, S,S,K, E, T....the rest of the girls, are well difficult. Or maybe it's just that they're so different and tightly centered that they fit into their own "cliques". Now, guys are flexible, you can draw conversation with them to any ground. Maybe that's why they don't get along on talks all that much as with the opposite sex. Cos they keep flipping topics so fast, they never do have any conversation.

Actually, in my experience, random changes in conversation is a female trait. With guys there tends to be more logic to the conversation.

Hey! We follow logic - most guys just can't keep up with it, hence it coming across as random. :p

My boyfriend has a few annoying habbits as we all do, but i think his main one would have to be the way he thinks he can do anything and knows everything. weve not long been living together, and he has only ever had open wood fires, i have a little closed fire.
So i chop my kindling and make a wee tee-pee in my fire and poke the firelighter in and make it go, and if i walk away for just a second, he comes in and throws a log on top of it....out goes my fire and the house is instantly smokey when the fire door is opened.I find it amusing as he refused to listen to me when i told him that small fires need to be built, from small wood until you have enough of a coal base to throw a log on, so i took drastic action for a while and refused to let him near the fire, and yesterday I lit it and he took over..i was scared, but when i came out he was doing it right and whadda ya know his wee fire was crackling, but the look on his face was priceless it was the whole *hmmm she was right* look. Anyway i guess its one of those things where you had to have been there, thought id share anyway

"Tends to be more logic" eh? So was that a diss then? :p

But I dunno tho, I don't seem to get along with guys OR girls. Thats prolly bekuz I don't even try talking (its a waste of time I think) but thats beside the point.

The point is, girls are way hard to start talking to. And way waaaay harder to keep talking to :p

The trick to girls is being confident in yourself. If you're really confident in yourself, it doesn't matter what kind of person you are, you'll probably end up in a relationship. The girl you get might not be the classiest gal in the world, but if you're just looking to find emotional sustenance, be confident.

Girls...hard to talk to..??Wow!!that's a new one...I mean you heard the joke...two girls sitting together, not talking? If girls can talk such a lot to each other (me and my friends banter alll the way through skool hours, on the way hime, and then for hours on the phone and then online) guys should find it easier to talk to girls. Like you walk up to the girl and instead of asking her a question, give her a statement. That'll get her and eat her, and she'll reply and keep talking to you until she finds ou why. by the time you'd probably have talked so much, she'd probably ike you and talk to you again all the same.

Don't ask girls questions. Give thm statements.

Well damn it if I wind up coming here... *sighs*
I was going fine with this girl, about 2 1/2 weeks and was really happy. Suddenly today she just pulls on me that "we're more like friends" and "she wants to save the inevitable pain" in our relationship. Call me skeptical, but there has to be more to it then that, eh? I dunno what to think of it, but it sucks all the same. She still wants to be friends though, even having the tenacity to call me later just to have a little phone conversation like we used to do. I'm totally lost...
