Emily, Sophie, Rory -- I'm so jealous of all of you! I've been riding for around eleven years (However I only started learning English-style competitive when I turned twelve or so; I was a western and lazy rider as a child) and a horse has always been on my birthday lists. But, I'm a city girl, and I think that's where the problem lies. It's not that I dont live within a half hour of any stables, because I do, but the boarding fees where I live are ridiculous. We cant afford a luxury like $450 / month. :( I ride my trainer's horses all of the time, but A) It takes about forty minutes to get out to the farm B) She buys and sells horses constantly. It's made me a humble and versatile rider, but I'd love to have a horse I could call 'mine.'

I'll have to marry rich. ;) I'm going into the English field and unless I get very lucky, I wont be living a very materialisitic lifestyle, but I still dream of owning my own horse one day.

I'll have to take a photo of my current love, Zidane, one of these days. He's absolutely massive but totally beautiful. My trainer has an eye, that's for sure. She goes to Denmark (to those of you who ride, you might be familiar with Denmark being the horse capital of the world as well as known for its unrivaled bloodlines) every year and has offered to take me for a senior trip next year. He'll be selling for about $200,000 - $300,000 (and she does not inflate these prices) or so... I'm always afraid I'll hurt the expensive ones she plans on selling.

    I can dream. :)

Merc, I wouldn't be jealous, after my day, uh, you don't want this. Lots of stress.

    Like this kind:
Doc: If *insert word I didn't know here* happens, she could die in twenty minutes.
    Me: Uh, what?

    Or this kind:
Me: Nails are EVERYWHERE. He's going to die.

    Or this, even:
Me: What do you MEAN there's a baby outside????

    And:
Me: WHO LEFT THE GATE OPEN???? GET THE GRIEVING MOTHER AWAY FROM MY FOAL BEFORE SHE KILLS IT!

    And my personal favorite:
Dena: I'm going in. Hold her tight.
    Me: Going in where?
    Dena: Going in her coochie.
Me: *blood drains from face* Uh, okay.

....Horses do not like hands in there.

All this in about two hours.

    Enily oooh bloody hell!

I sound evil but this one made me laugh "Doc: If *insert word I didn't know here* happens, she could die in twenty minutes.
    Me: Uh, what?"

    Sounds too much like me

    Spits is gorgeous btw!! :)

Mercurial, it's a kind of running joke for all my horse friends and I that we're all going to marry for money, then love (or looks!). We all have these far fetched plans of finding a nice prince or movie star to support our horses. You know what they say, to make a small fortune in the horse industry, all you have to do is start with a large one! I've been lucky that the most I've ever had to pay for board is $250, and my horses have never had to see a vet other than for getting their teeth floated (knock on wood).
I can't wait to see some of the horses you work with!

Cute picture Emily! I love love love foals, though I don't envy you having to deal with the foaling process. I took some classes on it at school and there are about a million things that can go wrong. But your guy looks like everything went right! Congrats!

I wanna show off my best friend! She's absolutely gorgeous; a true rival to Carmina. ;) I'm so glad she's here. We were walking around all day, just chillin' round town, and I had to get used to all the cat calls and stares... The life of a beauty is so hard, isnt it? :p

Aw...precious. Spits looks a lot like the foal you lost. Did they have the same father?

Yep, they did. His name is Cocoa and they both look just like him. I was actually hoping for Spits to look like Butter, but, he's still cute.

They are horse mutts. Cocoa is a Tobiano Paint. Butter is a Buckskin Palomino.

Ok...I didn't know about "Tobiano" but I knew the paint part. :) As for Butter...I thought Palomino. :) I guess I am not that rusty.

Tobiano just means mostly dark. There are two types of paints, Tobiano, and Overo. Overo is mostly white.

Learn something new every day...anyway..I have always loved paints...they are distinct with their markings...no two exactly alike.

Good use of vignetting. Have you tried white/light tint or second image vignetting?
