Double post. A few friends and I went ice-skating a few weeks ago. I used to figure skate competitively, and it was surprising to see that I could still do a few single jumps, but I fell on the doubles. And my sit spin sucks. But it was so fun to go! Lately, I havent been able to get skating off my mind. Think I'll have to go again and see if I can reteach myself a little bit.

In case you all forgot what I looked like. (I'm on the right, with the arms near her head.) This is one pretty telling of our characters. Kinda kooky, definitely dorky.

As for me, I thought I'd start with an aDORable picture of Miss Becca playing with her new play kitchen thing. And LOOK!! She can pull herself up. How precious!!


And then I managed to snag a wonderful picture of me and the Willem during our snow day adventure today! It was fantastic fun even if I hate the cold!

 

Awww, thank you guys! To be honest, right now I feel like every day that goes by that I don't have a panic attack or complete mental breakdown is a success, but I'm so excited for the wedding! (and yellow, I have the sign ready to go!)

Merc, you used to figure skate? That's so cool! Too bad we don't live closer to each other, I love going skating! Haven't in a very long time...sigh. You and your friend look like you're both great fun to hang out with.

Marriage of daughters...happy-sad days for us dads. It seems too short of a time when our "little girls" go from riding on our shoulders to riding away with "some" guy. My girls chose wisely and I'm happy for them, but deep down I miss the little girls who squealed in delight as they chased me with the hose on a hot summer's day. I hope you and your fiance enjoy a lifetime of fulfilled dreams. By the way, you are a beautiful soon-to-be bride.

I need help with figuring out how I should color his body. I've been trying to find the best way for hours now.

 

Lighter green body, the small diamonds beneath each plate should be dark green. And a pale, yellow underbelly

 

I agree with your color choice on the underbelly, but not with the green. It would clash far too much.

 

Don’t forget to use dark shades away from, and light tones towards, the source of light, and let it highlight the muscles under the skin.

 

I'm trying, but I haven't drawn a picture in a hell of a long time, so we'll see how it turns out. Shading is something I don't remember ever perfecting unfortunately.
