Actually, I don't usually sport a mustache - have only had it for a few days...

^ But my dad hated Avatar. He didnt like the obvious agenda that the director had. So Cogito must just be an imposter. ;)

LOL, he looks like he's getting ready to kick someone's keester:p

The mighty Cog in the flesh, thank you blessing us with your presence sir! Verily, his mustache is the only thing in the universe that can block Chuck Norris' roundhouse kick.

Cog, you're kind of menacing  But it's nice to finally see what you really look like.

Anyone notice how he has the same expression in his eyes as his T-shirt? LOL.

Alright, let's see if this works...

It's been a while since I looked at these, this was back when I was in the Corps but probably in my last year.

that's in California - A little wind really kicks that sand up like crazy.

another shot of our birds on the flightline. The guy with the red cranial(helmet) is an ordnance marine, that lime yellow thing is a fire bottle, the make and model are night attacks

Me so busy at work that I had time to grin as they took my picture:p

on the bottom right hand corner of the picture you can see a queer shaped panel fastened with offset apex screws

most of my glorious time in the Corps consisted of me taking off panels like those, looking for broken wires and defective components, and then putting them back on...and repeat process, and again, and again...Harriers are not maintenance friendly birds

Cogito, that photo reminds me of a family friend who was a retired police-officer. Same exact body build and mustache, except the friend had glasses and brown eyes.

you know you're a Marine when the highlight of your visit to San Diego is going to another base >_> (what the hell was I thinking?)

our group walking across the border, I had fun there but was definetly not keeping my back turned to anybody, I heard stoies about that place...

No, you definetly don't want that jet, it breaks alot

LOL; sadly no, I don't fly them, I fixed them. I was just a lowly technician.

Great photos, Jon! :) When was this? And I've seen you before, but I never quite realized how big of a person you are! How tall are you?

Cogito as far as facial features are concerned really reminds me of my daddy, but you do too when it comes to frame and height. ...Back when he was fit, I mean. :p

And I'm just impressed you know how to fix those huge things! I feel like I'd be too scared to even touch them. What base were you at?

And what did you do in Mexico? I've never been, but I might be going next summer to help build a church with my cousins. I've heard some horror stories, especially around the border (lately) and the capital (always), but I bet it was a lot of fun! ¿Es mexicano? Mexicano-americano, quiero decir...

Funnily enough tho Jon, if there were no technicians a lot of daredevils would die , but if there were loads of technicians and no daredevils noone would die. Unless the technicians started this huge fight, killing each other with like wrenches and the like. No wait. Thing is, technicians definitely save lives when it comes to things like this  I fail like that, only situation I can save lives in is like if a Japanese person tries to tell Norwegians that he needs to go to the hospital, but because of the massive pain he can only remember how to speak Japanese.

This was around two years ago I'd say. Lol, I'm not that tall, just 5'11''. I think I actually shrunk a little bit while I was in:redface:

Well, I was an electrian for the Harriers, but fixing the whole jet honestly takes all the different departments working together. The Powerline guys work on the flightline and the powerplant (turbofan engine) The Airframes guys work on hydraulics and mechanical stuff. The Seat mechs work on the ejection seats and environmental controls. Us lowly avionics techs fixed electrical crap:cool:

They're harmless as long as you don't stand directly in front of them while they're moving or behind them when they're throttling:D
That base we were at was actually a naval air base in El Centro california(don't ask me what the navy is doing in the middle of a desert), but I was stationed at Cherry Point NC (HQ 2nd Marine aircraft Wing, hoorah).

We just went on a little fun trip to Mexico since we were in Cali. We went to Mexicali, but no I'm not Mexican (Puerto Rican, like Wrey). It's funny cos a couple of the guys were Mexican and they were like "we're going to the motherland!"

Great photos Jonathan, they are quite impressive.
They remind me of a friend I had that fixed military helicopters, but he always used to say in a comical manner I suppose, "I wouldn't get on a helicopter that I fixed."

How often do these machines tend to break down?

Hey Pallas! Yeah, I understand the feeling. I would never want to fly in a Harrier either:eek:

(and I don't mean that comically, in the Harrier's case they have a reputation for in-flight malfunctions - It's an old jet with issues, their nicknames are lawn darts and whistling **** cans)

Yes they are definite relics of the chemical fuel age. When are the shiny new solar powered jets due out? haha

Jon, very few can boast being able to fix jets and having the opportunity to sit in them and pose for photos. It's all kinds of awesome, if you ask me.

and I like that shirt Evil, where'd you get it, or did you design it yourself?

Since I haven't posted a photo for a while... urhm, here's a photo of myself and my boyfriend at a wee-get together on Saturday.
