Just a few pics from last week when T and I went adventuring to the deep, dark woods of Eastern Finland...

Pine woods can be kinda gloomy.

This was our midsummernight bonfire. This is the time of the year when it's still reasonably light through the night.

This is T riding his horse... Well, they're pony-sized really, but Icelandic horses are strong enough to carry even adult men. They're used to longer rides in the woods instead of prancing around on dry sand like dressage horses and such...
I had sharper pictures, but I like the fuzziness on the edges and the fact that here T looks like an alien with his sunglasses on. :D

This is the entrance to the so-called Devil's Church, a Z-shaped cave and a natural, geological formation. It was a place of worship for pagans, but later gained that nickname. Legend says when you reach the end of the cave and peek through the slit in the rock, you can see the Devil hold a sermon to his congrugation. We didn't see anything, unfortunately.

Here's T trying to peek in between the rocks, but there was nothing but darkness.:D

Took the GF to see the sunflower fields my friends planted. We were about a week too late getting out there, but there were still some pretty flowers. photo 4.JPG I don't remember ever seeing a red sunflower before. photo 1.JPG

Although Warner Bros./DC's Batman v. Superman is not set to release until May 6, 2016, these images just get me so excited.

Here is the one that director, Zack Snyder tweeted out about a month ago revealing Ben Afleck in the new batsuit as well as the new batmobile:
    upload_2014-7-4_0-13-28.jpeg

This is the one one that WB released earlier today featuring Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman:

The tone of these pictures suggests that this movie may be more Batman-centric. While some fans may complain that it's a little dark for a Man of Steel sequel, it seems appropriate for any film with Batman in the wake of Both Tim Burton and Chris Nolan's interpretations. Warner and DC seem to finally have some confidence in the direction they intend to take these franchises, and I just can't wait to see the world's most iconic superheros (and my personal favorites) go head-to-head (and maybe toe-to-toe) in what looks to be the match up comic book nerds have been wanting for years.

Things like this almost make me regret following movie news because I have to wait so long before I get to see the final product. Oh well. A little anticipation never hurt anyone. It's bad results that do. Here's hoping this one is good. They don't have to make the movie of the century, just a solid movie that will have fans on the edge of their seats.

Awe, thank you. She is my sister, as is the tall young lady next to me. The little girl in her arms is our cousin. There was a little carnival going on outside the mall so we thought it would be great to take the girls out for a little bit. :)

Thank you! I completely agree about their expressions too. The day before this, I took my sister to the mall, even though I had planned to do a lot of reading and some writing, because I was feeling good and I knew she'd like it. And we had a blast at the arcade ha ha.

You guys look so happy and sunny!

Honestly, I don't think there's ever big smiles like that in our family photos. Everyone just looks awkward, lol.

Yeah! The sun was out, but not for long because we got their later. It was raining after like 20 or 30 minutes ha ha

And aaaaawe. :( You guys should be all smiles. The world is full of beautiful peoples, and that includes you guys. :agreed: People always notice our smiles in pictures. Even my great-grandma, who hates taking pictures, will smile... with her abnormally perfect teeth. :wtf:

    Aw, thanks, I know T's gorgeous.. ;) :D
Prompted by this, I looked through some group and family photos, and I found this from my and T's wedding from a few years back. The men (my big brother's the one on the far left) are all serious, I'm making a derpy face, and only T's sister looks like a person in a photo should. :D Understandably, the photographer took a few more after this. :D

@KaTrian : You are both gorgeous, you remind me a bit of young Juliette Lewis, and T has something Johnny Depp-esque in his face. I love your dress, beautiful flower details :)

@Andrae Smith : I miss mall culture, since I left Australia I haven't really found any malls like we had there, where you could just hang out all day, and then watch a movie in the evening :)

You all look lovely/handsome. Men are notorious for not smiling in pictures. A handful of the men in my family just don't, makes you think they can't. Then again, they're a older so It be more work for them ha ha. You two ladies both look very much like humans, glowing like happy people. :)

Malls are going out of style here in the States, you know. I remember when my great-grandma would take Cherelle and me to the malls downtown and we'd just be out for the day. Then when we got bit older, we could go hang out with friends sometimes. But slowly, malls are being abandoned by youth. I've read a couple articles and seen some news segments and documentaries about how malls are becoming less popular, as youngsters prefer to go out to eat or to movies. One mall we used to go to in San Bernardino was so cool. It had a little food court with a Burger King that my grandma would take us to, and a carousel, a Ferris wheel a train ride, people taking pictures and selling balloons, and all kinds of stores. Sadly, it became, primarily, an office building for the city because they lost so much business.

I was reading an article just the other day, @Andrae Smith, concerning the death of the suburban mall.

In other news.... This what I spent doing the better part of yesterday and the day before. We've known there is an area that flattens out before coming to the river on the edge of the property, but we've never thought to clear that area or make use of it. I decided I want to clear a path and build a deck down there. :)

The part that levels out is just a little further into the Green Beast you see here in the property behind the house:

It sounds like an end of an era, then. Good old days, it was as fun as in the movie 'Mallrats'. It really captured the nineties in the 'burbs, I guess :D

@Wreybies : Your property looks gorgeous, I'd love access to water from mine too. Do you get many mosquitoes?

Dude, your sister looks like Gabrielle Union. That is just too much pretty all up in one family.

@jazzabel, it seems like it... I wonder what the new 'thing' will be in this new era... that is with the youth spirit that seems to pervade American media and culture.

@Wreybies, my sister says to tell you thanks! It's very nice of you as she thinks Gabriel Union is very beautiful, and she is trying to get back into modeling. Also, I think your idea to clear a trail to and build a deck by the river is pretty cool. It sounds like a fun, if not rewarding project. I also just love all the green in those pictures. I've always loved that deep green color :p

@Andrae Smith : I wonder if kids these days socialise a lot more on the internet, and subsequently don't go out as much. Same can be said for all of us, actually...

That's likely a solid conclusion. We certainly feel less compelled to go out. Often we can text, chat, or video chat instead of having to go to a friends house to hang out. With that in mind, it's like "where are we going? what are we gonna do? oh, just skype me or snap chat me or [insert video tech here]." There are still plenty who go out all of the time, which is a good thing, but fewer, I think, who go out without needing to spend money on something. We are an event-based generation, in that respect.
