I made a thing. It's my avatar full-size. Edit: I posted the wrong thing Re-edit: This is the right thing Spoiler

Smiling, despite sky high anxiety that I'm about to join a crowd of 95,000 at the MCG for the football final. The kind of fans that ended up at 127 decibels. Oh, and we won. Ca'rn the Tigers!
For tomorrow’s work potluck - Pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and maple drizzle, topped with a whole pecan.
Like...seriously! Seven U.S. dollars for 6oz of whole pecans???? Luckily all the other ingredients were cheap as hell so I could splurge on the garnish.
That's not a whole pecan. These are whole pecans. You're skimming the shells and charging for whole pecans, I'm telling the Better Business Bureau's Nutbuster Division!
So here's a little thing I did just now. Basically I imagined what if Mishu Jerni (main character of my fantasy) were a Jedi. Deciding to craft some sort of mini-story out of it, out came this little deal about her and a fellow Jedi-turned-Sith Lord. Oh, and the redness around Mishu's eyes are supposed to be rough skin -- a product of a birth defect which rendered her blind. What do you think of it? Any pointers for me to improve on?
I just realized two things, my dear writers: • His motivation for turning Sith is lackluster. “Whaaa, you were mean to me, so I’mma be evil!” That’s...not a good motivation, is it? • His saying “I’m sorry” suggests he has some measure of guilt/remorse for what he’s about to do. If he truly embraced the Dark Side, he’d be dismissive and say something like, “Allow me to show you true power!”
Went to Brussels last weekend, and I absolutely loved the old architecture there. I like historical buildings 'cause for a moment they make you feel like you're transported back in time (without the smell of sewage and the plague du jour).
So neat that you got to go. And thanks for posting the GoFundMe link (I haven't been on WP lately and this is the first I'd seen it). I couldn't throw in much, but I'm glad to do something.
In honor of upcoming Veteran's Day, may I suggest we share photos of those of us who have served? I'll start...some Army pics of me...who else is a vet? Doesn't have to be US forces...
Normally they don't let men wear makeup in boot camp, but for me they made an exception and required it. "Gotta look human, recruit!"
Not a photo of military service, but the two lads pictured would both join the Air Force about ten years after this picture was taken. My uncle is on the left in the white socks. Dad is on the right.
My dad's uncle, circa 1950s. He was my grandfather's younger brother, who was too young to serve in WW2 by only a few years. "Uncle Doc" did see action in Korea and Vietnam. My grandfather joined the Army, and was briefly transferred to the Navy (at least on paper) before becoming a part of the then newly established Air Force. My grandfather was never technically in combat, but did catch a combatant aboard a train during the Korean War. He was on his way back from the restroom and stumbled over the man. After a brief struggle, my grandfather escorted the enemy off the train (and subsequently off the bridge the train was crossing), John Wayne style.
