Oh god! The poor person tied up across the room might not be too keen with your photography filters. Nice pic.
Truth: I was sat on the bog when I took this, messing around with a box of matches (as you do) and noticed how the sun coming in through the window was catching the smoke. It was actually quite tricky to strike the match, grab the phone, frame and focus, then flick out the match before running off a burst of shots.
I'm sick, sitting alone in my room. Too tired to do school work or anything else useful. So, what better way to pass the time than to code a random tree generator?
Then so it shall be! Now I just have to figure out how to describe a squirrel with a mathematical function...
Here's a shot of my thermostat this morning. Yep, the furnace is broken, and had been since early Sunday morning. The part is coming on Monday and should be installed on Tuesday or Wednesday. EDIT: "This morning" = Friday morning. Tried to post this last night but the mobile app wouldn't give me access to my photo gallery. This morning it was down to 44, or rather, it was this afternoon, since I couldn't bear to haul myself out of my warm bed till after 2o PM. I've been baking since then, so hey, the thermostat's up to 50 degrees F! And with one small space heater it's toasty warm up here in my study. Looxury!
Thanks Jud! We were sitting in our hotel room on the top floor and my buddy goes, "Dude, I think I see Toronto." I thought he said that because he was, uhh, not sober to keep things PG-13, but it turns out we could. It was a challenge to get it to show up good on camera. Couldn't see it well in the unfiltered picture because it was through the window / the lighting outside, so I put on the setting that takes something like 10 quick pictures with different filters and this one came out the best. Lol thanks Minstrel, you have a very Humphrey Bogart-meets-squirrel vibe going on yourself. I don't really like Superman but I used to jokingly call myself Clark Kent when I worked for my local newspaper. More of a Batman / Iron Man guy.
Nice result. It reminds me of something - the style of the photo, I mean, but I can't put my finger on what. It's the slight distressing the filter has added - those little scratches and washed out corners. If I had money and saw that for sale in a gallery, I'd snap it up without a thought.
I suspect they wouldn't have appealed to most console players, but I don't have any data on that. With some exceptions, FPS shooters really need to be designed for console from the ground up, rather than be ported over. Take Halo for instance. The first three were absolute MASTERPIECES, and the original Halo: CE basically laid the groundwork for how successful FPS games have to "feel". Aim assist and all that. Having guns in the game is basically where the similarities between Stalker and Halo, or Stalker and Call of Duty, stop. Sort of like the similarities between Elvis and Metallica stop at what kind of instruments are used. Plus I don't know exactly how much manpower and resources it takes to make a good console port, or if GSC (the developers) had any experience ever doing that in the past. Often times that has to be outsourced. A damn shame though, you're right. I'm still wondering why Bethesda doesn't just give the reigns of Fallout over to Obsidian. I digress. Here's a picture of a tree at Niagara that was frozen solid.
Or the staff are gaslighting us. I do that to my students sometimes, switch eyeglasses several times in the middle of class, excuse myself ti the restroom and switch ties while I'm out. It's fun.
