Holed up in shed, laptop open, epiphanic moment hoped for.
When lo (low) over horizon did an inspirational sunbeam slant itself my way. It had the slimmest window opening to contend with + my cat's snout. And its battle with the glass in my glasses (iPhone), had a good degree of its photons radiate themselves to all quarters of my retreat. Made for a lovely picture but no inspiration alas. Was too intrigued/distracted to write anything relevant. :meh: But hey.

Here is an image of a soldier from my book world. This particular soldier is likely from a society with heavy corporate influences. Most societies in my world use a more baroque/classical style.

They use projectile weapons to soften the enemy up, then finishes them off with close range melee attacks. Every soldier is equipped with not only a lightweight foldable shield, they also have a protective field surrounding them, weakening incoming ranged attacks.

EDIT: Image painted by Swedish artist Emmy Wahlbäck.

I did a Halloween costume with similar Roman influences one year. Won $200 with it.

^ The best touch is the dead pink bunny rabbit on the spear. Bodies of the slain shish-kabobed.

Actually, that pink bunny was the Nova Usagi (Nova Rabbit). Nova was, at the time, my employer. It was also going into a very massive and chaotic bankruptcy. The kind where they lock the doors, nobody's paycheck gets deposited, and large men with tattoos take the CEO for a "private discussion" that lasts three days in a secluded hotel room.

    No shit, look it up.

So skewering the mascot of a company that was leaving 30-50% of the Halloween partygoers suddenly unemployed due to criminal malfeasance (again, look it up, the CEO got five years at hard labor for his role) was a crowning touch to the "Space Spartan" costume (2007, the year 300 came out as well, although my ideas for the costume predated the film by a year).

Bingo. My thoughts exactly. Of course, that would include less clothing...but not on here!

You're right, it may come across as such! Didn't think about that when I posted it. Did not mean for it to be the case. Will edit the main post to include the artist's name.

Edit: Done. Check her out, she does work for people overseas as well I think:

Woke up at 2:30 am, layed in bed like a corpse with half open eyes until 4:30 am trying to sleep. Ate a profiterole (not a drug) with my coffee, then ate 8 left-over fried sardines, made another cup of coffee, listening to the falling rain and the blues. It's gonna be a dark day and I'm bored, so... I shot some photos.

My creative chaos (yes, the top shelf is balancing on a DC encyclopedia and a whiskey coffin and has never once fallen. I'm a great mechanic)

    Delicious!

How leftover? I'm all for my smelts, but were they given the pizza treatment and left on the counter for 8 hours?
