The problem with writing in blue is that the post looks clickable - I'm always trying to click Link's posts and nothing happens. So disappointed...

Would you prefer if it I did it in green instead, Minstrel? Like how I used to do when I first joined? :3

TMW you leave your binder unattended and your dog savages a few pages from a completed manuscript and you realize that he's doing more with the text than you are.

TMW you've gone through your last nerve, and it was borrowed, so now you don't know how you're going to explain this to the person who lent it to you.

TMW where you are doing research into gay persecution for your book and you come away fucking horrified ( Chechnya, 100 men arrested on suspicion of being gay, 3 killed resisting arrest ... Chechen govt denies reports saying they must be false because there is no homosexuality in Chechnya... words fail me )

People can be unspeakably cruel sometimes. :bigfrown: I remember reading up slave narratives for a college paper and came upon a horrid tale where an old black woman was literally chained on a plank by her hands and feet and viciously whipped by her slave master, all for the horrid crime of burning his waffles.

These were the same people who said there was no crime or religion in the former Soviet Union. Never underestimate the power of state-sponsored ideology.

Personally, I don't care, but I think it's a good idea to stick to basic black. If you use a different color, everyone else will think it's okay to use a different color, and the whole forum will start looking like a kindergarten finger-painting contest. Those of us who are here to discuss writing will have to run screaming into the night, leaving you guys to try to outpastel each other. ;)

TMW you understand that things can be better, but they can also be amazingly worse, so while you have to be thankful, you also have to dig in your heels because that slope is treacherous and the fall is unthinkable.

Clean that up just a little bit, and you'll have a very solid quotable.

From today's Metro: There are 60,065 species of tree; of the 20k that have so far been assessed, around 9k are considered to be at risk of extinction.

Choose your next novel carefully, Mr. Bond, it might be your last!

"No one fucks with me, little man!" the old woman cried victoriously, planting her boot on the cruel slaveowner's head as he groaned pitifully, clutching his injured groin.

I confess that I can't stop writing. I'm so into it now that I no longer care about my stupid Wii U AC adapter, no longer care that I haven't played Breath of the Wild in almost a week. I'm too busy writing.
