TMW you become reminded that you rarely remember your dreams. That's normal, right?
The last dream I remember involved the new Prince Louis!? I'm not even a Royalist! o_O

Sheesh! Find a bank that doesn't charge you! I don't pay for my bank account. (My business account, yes, but not my personal accounts.)

And I used to oppose credit cards, too. Then I realized I had to live on planet Earth, and if I wanted to do normal things like rent cars, stay in hotels, etc., on business, I pretty much had to have one. Just pay off the complete balance every month and you won't have to worry about those insane interest rates.

Credit cards are for mugs. Don't get persuaded into becoming a debt slave.

I don't have the money to afford the 5 euro a month to simply keep open a basic account with a debit card. All places charge for accounts here. I don't like borrowing money from anyone for anything. I don't even feel comfortable when it's given to me as a gift!
I don't drive either, and hopefully plan to keep it that way. If I had a debit card, I could pay for hotels and such if I needed them, but I don't have any spare cash for that kind of thing either. If I had money, I'd be buying a plane ticket. I'm on welfare atm.

Ireland. They didn't do well out of the recession, and they still have problems now. Everywhere charges for accounts, even the building societies. They have a credit union, but you have to let them know in advance if you want to take your money out, and they'd rather hold onto the majority of your cash, as it gets loaned out to other people.

TMW you learn from an author that the term ‘necklace’ is also in reference to a torture/execution method in which the victim’s head is buried in a tire filled with oil and flammable things up to the neck, and the tire is set on fire.

    And it’s a real-world method.

    Happening in present day.

    In parts of Africa.

    Sheesh... :bigconfused:

Credit cards only mean debt if you don't pay them off every month. Pay 'em off completely, and you avoid debt and have all the convenience!

I have three credit cards, and I'm debt-free.

TMW you're working on your WIP and going through your notes as you make some revisions to a chapter and find this random scribble: "April 18!!!" underlined three times.

TMW you finally manage to fix your keyboard and can return to typing normal words instead of having to resort to dodgy emojis! :superyesh:

ETA: Although I must admit that I do now appreciate the broad range of emojis available on discord, even if the face ones are creepy looking.

Not quite, actually hellions, appearing on the doomed world that was about to be barbecued by the Sun. Or so it seemed, perhaps it was something else! Maybe it was already hell, LOL.

TMW you're (sort of) writing a horror story for the first time ever.

I'm writing about a really fucked up initiation ritual where the group in question locks their new members alone in the basement of an abandoned house and forces them to play a horror game to completion. After feeding them astronomical doses (multiple grams) of cannabis and some lovely, futuristic military-issue combat stimulants to counteract the sedation. Sort of like those extreme frat boy drinking contests, but more hallucinations :agreed::agreed:

TMW you are pretty sure you're killing off a fun secondary character, and it hits

Psychedelic torture. You already get some sensory distortions from long periods in darkness, and playing freaking System Shock 2 all night while locked in an abandoned house probably isn't helping anything. So when you add five grams of weed and the aforementioned futuristic (and neurotoxic) military stimulants... it's not quite LSD, but it becomes an almost spiritual experience in all the wrong ways.

The joy of cyberpunk is that you can create a handful of futuristic technologies or medical creations and toss them in with elements and ideas that exist in real life.

"I like your fluffier ending, and spunk kid. But we all know that we don't kill off
great secondaries in such nice ways. It has got to be a bit OTT and be pretty damn
unsettling, Really wrench the emotions and nerves of the MC, ya know." :p
