That Moment...

TMW you just go WTF did I walk into?!

 

We're at -16C (windchill -25C) and talking about 'really warm outside'.

 

TMW you get dive bombed by a corvid (not certain if it was a hooded crow or a jackdaw)

Followed by

TMW you start to wonder whether they really are that smart

 

That moment when your AC repair tech explains that your unit is shot and your house will remain a sauna until Thursday.

 

That awkward moment:

"Hey, is [Bob] going to be at the reunion?"

"Umm, nope, he's busy for the next few years."

"Busy? What's he doing?"

"Ten years for [something he could have got a lot more for if he hadn't plead out]"

 

Buy a box fan.

That moment when you're about to do dishes but someone tells you to do dishes and now you don't want to

 

Urrgh, there is nothing more annoying than being told to do something you were just about to do!

TMW you get home literal seconds before it starts pouring.

 

TMW you drive all the way to get your pay, and find out the company
that owes you has been robbed by some jackass.

 

Well, I guess when you're in Antartica.

that moment when your mom produces a picture with kindergarten hand scribbled poem on it that she says you gave her (you have no memory of the poem, but it is your blocky, crayon handwriting) and the poem is actually REALLY good...... too good...... suspiciously good for a kindergartner....

after years of your mom gushing over that poem and you, you decide to finally google the words of the poem, only to discover that you in fact did not write the poem, but some guy in the 1990s who published it in a book about trees

When we were little, my brother made my mother a bookmark for Mothers' Day at school with a little poem on the back. It was obvious that the teacher had written the poem on the board with blanks for them to fill in. My brother wrote that our mother was "as adorable as a piglet" and we've never let him live it down. Mum still uses the bookmark.

His best Mothers' Day exploit was the time a couple of years ago when he got her a card with a very nice poem in it about everything she'd done for us, to which he had added "Plus the day you let me come through your birth canal.", and then forgotten about. Mum was "slightly horrified".

 

Great stuff.

 

TMW you hear a seemingly sweet song (Total Eclipse Of The Heart), but it reminds you of a horror film. It makes me giggle, anyway.
