Its totally genius!!! Really. Its a most hilarious, entertaining and absolutely fabulous novel. Its the first book in the Bartimaeus Trilogy. Has anyone read it? If so, what did you think about it?
Of course I read it! I read it for fun on my own, and then my Battle of the Books coach forced the whole class to read it. I've also read the other two books. They're just as good, believe me. I love the style used in the book. And the way he used footnotes didn't hinder, it helped. I wonder how he did it... I've been envious of his writing style for forever... And let us not forget Bartimaeus himself... best character in a YA novel of all time. Well, in my limited, humble opinion. And now I'll stop raving and wander away. Toodles...
I loved the first two and I think The Golem's eye is the best. Ptolmey's gate though, seemed a little weak. Still, the very end of the book was nice. Is Stroud coming out with anything else?
This trilogy is a perfect example of a young adult series that can appeal to older readers. I loved every minute of it! And I must agree with Milady, the footnotes are great. Honestly? They were half the reason I read the books!
