This is incredible plot material. Not sure the discussion should be here or in the Lounge, and hopefully it doesn't need to be in the Debate Room as it is a true current event. Here's the story in a nutshell: 1994 - horrific terrorist bombing in Argentina kills hundreds in a Jewish Center. Iran is suspected but it's never proved. The case goes cold then gets reopened recently with a special prosecutor. He claims to have found evidence the president of the country made a deal with Iran for oil and arms in exchange for covering up their involvement. He prepares an arrest warrant for the President. One day before he presents his evidence to Congress, he dies of a gunshot wound to the head. It's claimed to be a suicide but there is no gunshot residue on his hands (apparently they don't watch CSI down there, ) Then the president comes out and says she was set up by the director of their equivalent of the CIA (or FBI) because she had just disbanded the agency in order to set up an alternative agency. Wow, is that ever an interesting plot.
I'm curious what Iran would get out of bombing a Jewish center in Argentina. So I Googled it. AMIA Bombing It also isn't clear why the target would be Jews. I need to keep reading.
