lol, I think Zebby and Drake will get along nicely once he calms down. Drake can speak their language, its just that he hasn't adapted to it yet. also, once this story really gets going, you guys will be in for a fun time. Already drawing several of the creatures you will come across -though they aren't in their "tainted" form. Still, you'll get the idea once i add the description. Edit: lol, i just got this picture in my head of what had just happened. Drake was against Zebulon's chest, or more between his forelegs, and with Kethtria now with her back to Zebby's neck her... well bottom would be in Drake's face! ohhh that is funny. I guess we should all just imagine that Drake has hurriedly scooted away from them.
Name: Koya Quinn Age:24 Race: Human Appearance: Koya is very beautiful from the upper-half of her face and up. Her chocolate brown eyes match her chocolate colored hair. Her skin is without blemish and tinted with only the slightest tan. The lower half of her face, however, is always concealed by a scarf, even when she eats. When people ask about it she replies that she simply enjoys wearing scarves though her eyes reply differently. Personality and Bio: Koya is quiet and an extreme introvert. She speaks only if she must and prefers to be alone. However she was not always like that. As a child she was happy and praised as the most beautiful girl in her village. Boys worshiped her and her beauty but she ignored them all until she met Dawin. At 15 she and Dawin began dating. That was also when her magic began manifesting itself. It was not uncommon for her to have a vision or dream of someone doing something at the moment they were doing it. This made her even more popular. The village called her a seer and an angel and many a criminal were put away thanks to her vision of their crime. When she was 17 she rescued a wind dragon named Luna, meaning moon, from a cave-in. They've been best friends ever since. At 18 Dawin asked Koya to marry him. She eagerly accepted and was the happiest person in the village until she had a horrible vision of Dawin murdering his own brother. Heartbroken and frightened Koya ran to the village guards and told them of Dawin's crime. Despite the guard's best attempts to catch Dawin, however, he managed to evade them and disappear. A month later Koya awoke to find a hateful Dawin standing over her. As revenge for her revealing his crime to the village, he pressed a hot rock against her face, burning parts of her lips and cheek, and marring her beauty forever. With her beauty ruined and fear keeping her from speaking out her visions anymore the village began to treat her differently. For a month she suffered silently under their pitying gazes. Unable to stand the embarrassment anymore she took Luna and left the village never to return. Abilities: Wind magic
I'm writing one now. I got your PM, but was working on a post. I think I'll post it here, instead of in a PM, so anyone wanting to join can read it. Keit wrote one a little while ago, but I like to make 'em super-detailed. And, of course, don't be afraid to read. It's good... you know you wanna... c'mon...
My char. Name: Draven the Sea Witch Age: 28yrs old Race: Mermaid Appearance: Never a true beauty, Draven is of medium height with a thin mouth under a long nose, a flat chest and a bony figure. Her only redeeming attribute is her large, remarkable sea-green eyes. Her dark hair is short and spiky and she wears the same long, dark dress with a tattered hem every day, and it is usually drenched with seawater. She smells strongly of brine and seaweed when wet, and not much better when she is dry. Personality/Bio: Draven was severely bullied as a child, called everything from "ugly" to "monstrous". Her mother tried to console her when she came home from playing with the other children by telling her that she had the most beautiful eyes of anyone in the sea, but Draven was still bitter and depressed. When she reached puberty, Draven discovered she could command the elements (make pale fire that burned even underwater, manipulate strands of seaweed, command the seawinds to blow harder), but mostly she could control water. Soon after that, the head bully on the playground, Liza, called Draven "an ugly sea cow" and threw sharp rocks at her. Draven had had enough and she retaliated by beating Liza to near-death by manipulating the water currents. The other kids ran home to tell their parents and a frightened Draven went home to tell her mother what had happened. Her mother couldn't keep the look of disapointment from her face and advised her daughter to go hide in the seaweed forest or the other merfolk might condemn her to a cruel punishment. Draven was hurt more than ever by the her mother's disaproval and left without looking back. She became a recluse and lashed out at anyone that came near because she thought they were coming to punish her for the crime she committed by hurting Liza. From that point on, Draven was called the Sea Witch and she was feared and hated by her own kind. Abilities: Water magic mixed with other magics.
I sense absolute chaos is near. So many strange/interesting characters! I am feeling as if I've made a suprisingly casual, mainstream choice by picking an air dragon xD.
Story So Far: the Long Version Here's that synopsis, for anyone trying to get up to speed. A strange man, wounded and wrapped in chains, plummets into the sea near the village of Brillwood Cove. A startled fisherman and his son see the man and haul him onto their boat, but the strange man is very wary of them. The incident is also witnessed by Orochi, a water dragon masquerading as an iceberg. The dragon watches as the fisherman’s boat speeds to shore with the injured man, to seek medical attention. Meanwhile, Jon Grayward, a self-proclaimed demon slayer, is wandering through Brillwood Forest, searching for a demon which allegedly lives there. The ‘demon’ begins playing tricks on his mind, causing him to hallucinate. Eventually, they make a deal: the demon saw something mysterious fall from the sky and wants Jon to head back to town to investigate. If he finds out what happened, the demon promises to direct him to her true form, so he can slay her. Jon heads to town and begins asking around, but his description of what happened in the forest leads the guards to think he is demonically-possessed. Poor Jon gets tossed in jail. At the docks, the fisherman’s boat reaches shore and he calls out for help. The dragon hunter, Amara Thrash, is the first to arrive on the scene, but the injured man resists help of any kind. The situation is further complicated when Kethtria Dwin'rrtryn and her dragon companion, Zebulon, swoop down to assist. Naturally, Amara does as any dragon hunter would do and aims her bow at the creature. Orochi, the passive observer, pokes his head in as well. Elsewhere, a dwarven hero by the name of Camdin Dargosnev comes ashore. His dragon companion, Erde Welt, remains out at sea, communicating with Camdin telepathically. As the dwarf is making his way through the forest, he hears the voice of Nyaladcthulxoteph, a woodland deity. This ‘god’ directs him to a stash of gold, and then directs him to return to town and pay for the release of Jon Grayward. The dwarf reluctantly does as he is told, though neither he nor Erde Welt are sure of this being’s godhood. Meanwhile, in town, a strange mummified man is stirring up trouble… or confusion… which is basically the same as trouble. His antics eventually lead him to the prison, where he tries to impart some wisdom on the inmates, but is promptly incarcerated himself. The bandaged man, Blaine, finds himself sharing a cell with Karen, who has been locked up for about a week, due to some initial difficulty adjusting to civilized life -- not that there’s anything uncivilized about living in a crystal cave. Camdin shows up a short while later and uses a rock to pay for Jon’s release. Blaine busts out shortly after, taking Karen with him. Under the guidance of Nyaladcthulxoteph, Jon continues his search for the source of the disturbance, while Camdin heads back into the forest to receive his true reward (i.e. not a rock). At the docks, Amara, Kethtria, and Zebulon are still at odds with one another, while Orochi watches on. Blaine and Karen show up, further muddling the situation. Jon watches from behind a building, unsure what to do. Camdin finds his gold, sends it back to Erde Welt, and rockets to the beach, to see what all the fuss is about. And just as it begins to look as if Drake, the injured ‘man,’ will not receive the medical attention he needs, Koya Quinn and her dragon, Luna, swoop down and she promptly begins the task of healing him, despite the menagerie of questionable characters loitering around the scene. Oh, and there’s black lightning, dark clouds, and something sinister lurking on the horizon, for anyone who can be bothered to tear their eyes away from all the craziness happening on the ground. Make sense? Probably not, but that's the story thus far.
AnonyMouse Yes, I echo the bravo on an amazing synopsis! Actually helped me out to remember how many dragons are around.
Love to Write TheLeonard112 JessWrite Bewitched give AnonyMouse some rep in my stead please, I can't rep him atm (never used so many mentions before)
In my stead means (in this context): instead of me/in my name. What I was asking was that you give AnonyMouse rep (reputation) instead of me, since I can't give it to him. I can't give it to him because I have to give rep to other people first before giving rep to AnonyMouse again, this prevents abuse of the system. Rep, or reputation are those green bars underneath one's avatar. The more reputation points you have, the more bars (and the more respected you are in the community, sort of...). Reputation is given when someone makes a good post. This can be a good post in an RPG, or in any other thread on this forum. I often give reputation when I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly, or if I think someone made a good point, summarized something really nicely, or otherwise says something very interesting.
