Blood? Blood!? BLOOD! Koya let out a terrified screech as she realized the rain falling from the sky was actually blood. It was one of the few things in her life that terrified her anymore. The smell of iron seeped through the cloth on her nose and the lovely blue of her scarf began turning a brownish-red as the blood saturated it. It wouldn't be long before she was forced to remove it or suffocate.
"I think I'd rather suffocate." She thought miserably.
"Not while I'm around you won't!." Luna had come bounding to her aid and stopped beside her. She snatched Koya up in her claws and placed her in the safety of a nearby tree. It's branches would shield Luna's rider as she dealt with the flesh eating Insectizeals. "What has corrupted these creatures? They were once beautiful."
"Luna, be careful. They're going after the dragons!" Koya called out telepathically. The blue dragon didn't respond as she was too busy trying to destroy the creatures ripping into her flesh. 4 of the buggers had sunk they're teeth into her back. Luna took a deep breath and blew an icy wind over her back freezing the Insectizeals. Then she rolled and managed to successively squashed them.

Unfortunately there was no time to feel triumphant as several more of the creatures began to attack. She took to the skies with a trumpet and began aerial acrobatics. Manipulating the air around her wings Luna attempted to smash the flesh-eaters with her tail but their speed was much greater than her's and they easily evaded her.
I'm too vulnerable up here. Maybe I can defend myself better on the ground. Luna shifted and began a rapid descent with Insectizeals right on her tail.
"LUNA! Look out!" Koya yelled. The warning came to late. A creature had come up beneath her in Luna's blind spot and smashed into her chest knocking her out of balance. Unable to adjust her flight in time the dragon smashed heavily into the ground knocking the wind from her lungs.

Spots danced in Luna's eyes and she could feel the creatures attacking her exposed hide. Then Koya appeared. Braving the bloody rain she rushed to her best friend's aid, took a branch and smashed the creatures in the head whenever they got close.
"Good 'ol, Koya." Luna thought sleepily in the recesses of her own mind. "She does the right thing when the need is great enough. Maybe there's still hope for her yet."

Bins' ear perked up. They eat...dragons? Even covered in blood and shaking badly, Bins nearly cried with relief. They ate dragons! Not short elves! Dragons! Oh the beautiful possibilities! Maybe he should adopt one. Or two. Or three. Hell, he could adopt them all and and start some sort of crab-monster guarded paradise free of all fire breathing lizards. It would be-

It would be the worst idea ever. Why were they attacking HIM?!

Bins ran past wailing just as Blaine finished warning Karen of the danger, crab-monsters hot on his tail. As they snapped at his heels, Bins thought miserably: I want my safety rock back.

Blaine brought the heel of his boot down on the lead Insectizeal that was chasing Bins its head exploding. "See Miss Karen dangerous." He said pointing at the ones he'd failed to kill that were still after Bins.

"Speed up!" He shouted at the little man. "Welp." Blaine glance over at Karen with a flat look in his eye. "He's a goner." He said.

Blaine wasn't making any attempts to help Bins. For the simple reason that he was scared of being bitten again in such a violent manner. That fear was enough reason to keep his feet planted on the ground.......or more accurately in the brains of a dead Insectizeal.

Some would call it cowardice and it was.

But when one is being a coward he might as well do it well.

Normally a coward would run but that didn't seem to be working out to well for Bins. So he opted for standing still.

One of the creatures considered a good idea to aim for Karen, as thus it charged against her.
The girl still didn't get what was going on, as such her reaction was slow, still she managed to put both hands as a shield in front of the creature...
Yet these beings were fierce, not something a young girl like her should be fighting against. She pressed her fingers against the creature, these fingers able to tear apart rock with ease; as tendrils the fingers carved through the head of the creature, difficultly piercing it's exoskeleton yet they managed to reach the brain, stopping the functions of the monster....
However even being killed the creature who charged against Karen was still moving, the strenght of the last tension of it's muscles was enough to push with such a strenght that it sended Karen flying one or two meters..... The hands of the girl were profusely bleeding, and on a closer inspection it could easily be noticed that her hands had no fingers at all; these were used to carve the brain of the creature and with the pressure executed by it's last strenght Karen was unnable to pull of her hand at the right moment, hence the creature stood with her fingers carved, and as such her hands ended mutilated.

All this could be summed into a strong scream of the girl translated into an enormous amount of pain.

    Just a flesh wound!

Blaine's free hand wrapped around Karen's waist and pulled her up.

He had sheathed his sword and once he saw the naive girl in danger that got him. That blood curdling scream had been to much to handle. He was walking with his leg spread as his shredded ass was becoming very hard to manage.

"Don't cry!" He shouted as he started trying to make an escape with her. "Its just a flesh wound." He said looking at her shredded hand as she dangled from his arm.

Blaine did a baseball slide kicking up part of the ground as he did. A trail of blood from his own injury was left. How much blood did the man have in his body? Blaine began coughing as he set the girl down.

"Miss Karen don't run off into danger!" He said eyeing her hand with concerned eyes. "Oh dear." He said as his mind went over options.

Suddenly Blaine took her hand and unwrapped the slower part of his bandages.

As Karen kept screaming Blaine stuffed her mutilated fingers in his mouth.

His mouth was warm.....to warm it wasn't a human mouth not even close. Blaine's mouth began burning Karen's hand to the point he'd messily caturized her wounds with it. He wasn't breathing as he continued the heating. He was holding something back. He jumped away from her the lower half of his wraps still off and Karen's bubbling blood slipping dripping from lips and tongue. The fumes he'd been holding back spilling out as well.

It wasn't the best method of medical treatment. But it would stop the bleeding.

Blaine licked his lips.......poison? Yep its the poison. He quickly went to work trying to wrap the bandages back around his jaw and mouth.

Though the green slime he was starting to puke up made it difficult. Has he poisoned Karen as well? Perhaps. But their where cures for it. If it effected her she'd likely start feeling sickness soon enough.

At 4 feet 3 inches tall, Bins was roughly half the height of his elven brothers. But while his brothers could easily use their lengthy legs to step right over him, it would be a cold day in hell before any of them would beat Bins in a race. Bins considered the ability to run from anything the right of a coward, and it was a right he used often. Like now.

"He's a goner," he heard from behind him. Far behind him. And getting farther. Goner? Not likely. Bins was a damn good runner. And for all their speed, the crabs weren't faster than him. He would be smug if he wasn't so terrified. In fact... the crabs were seeming to understand that he was faster too. They had stopped chasing him and turned around. Strange. Very strange. Did the crabs have intelligence? He slowed down, skidding in the sand. The crabs didn't even look back as they scuttled back to the main fight. From here, Bins couldn't see the battle on the beach at all. From their point of view, they would probably see the returning crabs and assume he was dead. If they even had time to consider a single fleeing elf in the midst of battle.

'I should wait it out,' he thought to himself. Which would have been a perfectly good idea and Bins would have been all for it if hadn't been for the scream, high pitched and terrified. It was coming directly from the area of the beach the crabs chasing him had just returned to. Which meant...

"They went back for a stationary target." Bin's stomach dropped. Those crabs were after him, and when they decided to stop chasing him, they had gone back to the beach. Which meant that the people on the beach were now dealing with the crabs in his place. And if someone who was doing fine before was now dying, Bins was responsible for their death.

"Being responsible for someone's death?" Shaking, Bins pulled an arrow out of the quiver and held it in his other hand. "That's no good. I'm afraid of responsibility."

The run back to the beach was way too short for Bins, but for the girl with the bloody hand, it had probably been way too long. The three crabs from before were converging on Karen and she looked as scared as Bins felt. He swallowed, gripped his arrows harder, and leaped on the nearest crab.

Part dwarf he might have been, but Bins was still an elf. Grace was in his nature. The arrow he stuck into the creature's soft neck went in with precision and when Bins pulled it back, it brought with it a spray of blood. Blond hair streaming behind him, he alighted easily on the next crab and made a jab at the eyes.

"At least it's not lizards," he whimpered to himself.

Camdin stood his ground about to soon be attacked by the wolf. It was a fierce looking creature and had no regret in its eyes. He recognized the beast, it was no normal wolf. It was different, stronger, more evil. His sword had darkened completely, and the blade now seemed to be grey. As the creature was mid-air in front of him, he heard a scream play loud, it sounded womanly and like whoever it was needed help. He snapped out of it. "Woman." he said to himself in a low voice. As he was back in this word the carb-like monster came back into sight and was about to land on him. His sword light up bright, and he stabbed it through the monster.

Falling on the ground, from its weight he looked into its eyes. Even the look of a dying creature was something that could be seen. He promised himself to never think of that night again. The flesh of dragon fell onto his cheek, as blood trickled down it upon impact. He kicked the dragon eating beast of his blade with his foot and stood. As he watched Koya up in the tree and Luna being attacked he charged for the air dragon. Then suddenly the girl appeared, Camdin find here feat quite interesting. "Oh, good she got to Luna." Camdin said aloud having heard the dragon's name.

Three insectizeals ran at Camdin in a pack at strange speeds. Once they were within a few feet of him, Camdin sliced one with his sword. It did not die, but it appeared wounded. The other two both attacked him at the same instant, but he blocked both attacks with his sword, as they both attempted to attack the same spot. At pushing them back, the first one decided to attack again but died after a light blast to the face. "I can't exhaust myself." Camdin thought to himself. The next two both decided to go for different shoulders. As they attempted to clamp down on Camdin's shoulder, he slashed across them both while they were mid-air.

As they fell to the ground, he did a strange dance, avoiding their snappers. Eventually he got the opening to slice one in half and kick the other into the air and blast it. He began to breathe heavily. "Way too many beams today." he said to himself. It seemed the exhaustion from using his magical abilities to such an amount was tiring him. Another scream rang in his ears, but it had seemed that Blaine had taken care of it. He seemed sort of like a father figure for Karen.

Everyone battles against the Tainted Insectizeals bravely, taking down many but their numbers seem to just keep growing. Drake bellowed in rage as two large ones pounced on him, pincers slicing into his human flesh with ease. Crimsons streaming from his shoulders, he flung the monsters off of him and snarled behind the mask, his light brown hair turning maroon from the rain. Hearing cries of alarm and terror, as well as war shouts as all did their best to fight the Dark Insectizeals off, he cleaved the two in half with a swipe of his black-scaled talons. Teleporting to a boulder above everyone, he assessed the situation. His golden eyes seemed to glow, and though he may have cared less about everyone and fled, he stared at the clouds and rain with open hatred.

"Why do you leave them to fight alone!?" he screamed, then threw himself into the fray, slashing and kicking insectizeals every which way. He was like an enraged dragon, his body moving like a tidal wave, crashing, cleaving bodies and rending limbs from their owners with ease. His attacks brought attention, and five more pounced on his back, overwhelming him. Rolling over, Drake spat and kicked, trying to get the creatures off of him, but their claws were slicing into his body, pinning him down as their teeth snapped at his draconian limb.

Teleporting away to safety, his breaths became labored as he pounced once again into the fray. They had to fight, had to defend. Had to win.

After what seemed like hours, Drake began to notice something. Whenever one insectizeal died, its brethren ran back to eat it. That allowed him more time to kill the others and begin the process all over again.

"They eat each other! Kill one and wait for the others to get distracted!" he yelled above the melee, slashing a pincer off of one insectizeal and kicking the squealing creature into a mass of its kin. The others immediately pounced on the injured creature, tearing at is flesh ravenously.

    United we stand

An ear-splitting scream was the knight’s first indicator that things weren’t going as well as they seemed. He’d sliced through about five or six of the creatures already, but they kept coming. Worse, each one he encountered seemed to be larger than the last and more kept crawling out the ground.

“This isn’t working,” he muttered while he tried to catch his breath and reassess the situation. That’s when he realized the scream had been Karen’s. Her hands looked mangled, but Blaine was with her. Jon had no idea if that should be reassuring or not, but it was better than nothing.

The knight backpedaled until he bumped into something large and solid. It was Nya. The tainted insectizeals seemed to be drawn to her, but they couldn’t get through her armor. The big dragon was still stuck in the sand, making her an easy target, even though they couldn’t seem to do any damage. She swatted at them with her hands, and even picked up one and crushed it.

Well, damn, it’s about time, Jon thought. For the first few minutes, Nyaladcthulxoteph hadn’t done anything at all. He was beginning to think she might be a pacifist. Even now, she didn’t seem to enjoy hurting the creatures. She actually seemed a little worried about them.

“Nya, can you move?” he asked, telepathically. “I mean, can you pull yourself fully out of the sand? I may have an idea.”

“You want me to lead the creatures away, so the two wind dragons can focus a single, powerful lightning attack on them. Is that your plan, Jon Grayward?” she asked.

He stared, dumbfounded. How did she know!

“I’m still in your head, silly knight. And, yes, I can do that,” she replied and commenced the arduous task of digging herself out of the wet sand. “My metal plates should direct the lightning away from my body, but… well, it’s been ages since I’ve tasted the wrath of a wind dragon. This should be interesting.”

“Good luck,” Jon said to her before making his way through the battlefield. He was looking for the girl with the scarf, but found the female elf and her dragon instead.

Crabs around him dead. Good. Covered in blood. Less good. But alive. Very alive. Also: terrified.

One of his arrows had broken in the last crab, but elves never ran out of arrows if they were taught well. He pulled another out of his quiver, quivered a bit himself, then ran over to help Karen.

"That looks kinda serious," he pointed out helpfully. Karen wailed. Bins flinched. Don't look at the blood, Bins. Fainting isn't manly. You just killed demon crabs. You can do this. "There...uh, should probably be a healer somewhere on this beach. I mean, if these people can teleport and break the laws of nature, a couple fingers should be okay." Fingers which someone probably would have to pick up so they could be reattached- oh GOD he was going to puke.

    Camdin and The Cannibals

As the dwarf had heard from Drake what the weakness the army of crabs possessed, Camdin grew a smile on his face that perked from cheek to cheek. As five more crabs began to charge toward him, his green eye gave them a look of self-confidence. He picked up two of the three dead brethren of the crab like-monsters.

The dwarf placed the handle of his light sword in his mouth and began to charge at the last two, as they did at him. "Just like hunting." He mumbled through his sword handle. Camdin's black boots plunged into the sand with each step. It had seemed that it would slow him down, but he kept running as if he was on solid ground. Once reaching the crowd. His eyes began to glow up like lights.

He smacked two out of his way using one of the dead crabs. And he mimicked the act with the other two crabs, using another he had killed. As each pair of crabs hit the sand, they had landed on their back. Yet they were not concerned with the dwarf who had hit them to the ground, but more of the free food on top of their bodies. They began to rip through the flesh of their former comrades, blood staining the sand, and horrible crunching and smacking noises floating in the area.

This left Camdin open to the last insectizeal. He used his hands to unbutton his vest as he was becoming uncomfortable, and he used his teeth to clench down on his sword as he decided he had no time to place it in his hands, yet he had time to loosen his vest. His sword began to glow even more as he sped past the beasts, leaving its decapitated body in the sand behind him. The monsters that confronted him were dead. And the four that were going to attack him were preoccupied. His sword dimmed and fell out of his mouth as he fell to the ground, one knee.

Orochi was still in the water as the cracks appeared. Insectizeals poured fourth and started attacking the group that had gathered on the beach. This was new for Orochi, he had never seen Insectizeals like this. He knew they attacked dragons but these seemed almost demonic. What would do this to them? That would have to be figured out later for now he had to give them some help. He made towards the shore reaching it in a few seconds. Then he started pulling himself out. His head rose high into the air as his walked out and made his way over to an earth dragon digging herself out of the sand.

He moved past her towards the cracks. With his size he didn't need to fight, all he had to do was walk over the creatures. It didn't seem to do much though. For every one he stepped on two more would fill its place. This required a change of tactic. Orochi made his way to the largest crack he could find. It was dark and seemed to go down forever tainted Insectizeals spewing out. Orochi took a large beathe the air mixing inside him with his water. He breathed it out in a long stream of ice running it the length of the crack and back before directing it at the crowd around his feet.

That should slow the flow. Now to find the other cracks.

"Humph!" the air flew from Kethtria's lungs as she landed unceremoniously on Zebulon's back. One of the insectzeal's nipped at her hair and managed to snip a bit off, "Oh! you nasty, low-borne, click-clackety, dirty, evil little insects! That was my hair!" Before she could take a whack at them Zebulon had lifted into the air and was flying about twenty feet off the ground over the battle-site. Kethtria took the opportunity to straighten herself out on Zebulon's back. She then started throwing wind lances at the creatures, splitting them apart. She leaned lower over Zebulon and yelled towards his ear over the ruckus of the battle below,

"Zebby, what is going on? Have you seen these creatures before?"

"No," he said, his wings beating rapidly to stabilize himself from the recoil of Kethtria's wind lances. She was terrifyingly accurate with the invisible-killer-sticks. "I don't know what they are, but they are attacking Luna!" Without warning he dived towards the ground, opened his jaw and shot out a small bolt of lightning, electrifying one insectzeal to ashes. He hoped Luna hadn't seen how terribly small his bolts still were, even though he knew his power would grow when he aged.

"Are you alright Luna?" Zebulon inquired, his mind stretching out into the minds of Kethria, Luna and her mysterious rider.

"Are you alright Luna?" The youngling asked.
Sweet youngling. But stupid for letting himself get distracted. Luna thought. "And what would you do if I wasn't alright, youngling? We're in the middle of a battle. Keep your wits about you." As if to emphasize her point she breathed out a lighting bolt that was nearly 5 feet in diameter. Four insectizeals dropped dead around Zebulon and his rider. They had been right above him and ready to attack.
Koya's response, to Zeb's question in her mind, was to put up a mental wall and lock the young dragon out. No one was allowed inside her head, aside from Luna. The bloody rain was still pouring down and her scarf was soaked. It was getting hard to breathe. "Luna. I need to change my scarf." The dragon nodded and used one wing to conceal her while using her tail and electrified breath to kill the flesh-eaters. Koya emerged from beneath her wing a minute later with a dark purple scarf on. It was enchanted so that it couldn't get wet.

"Koya. I hear screaming...from that little girl. By the sun! Her hand, Koya! She needs healing." Without waiting for her rider's response, Luna snatched Koya in her claws and rushed her over to where a man seemed to be trying to help the girl. The sight of her burned and mutilated fingers was almost to much for Koya to bare but Luna's encouragement in her mind helped ease the nausea. "Let me." She said to Blaine. It was clear by her voice that she would allow no argument. She stretched out her hand attempting to take the girl's mutilated hand in her own.

Gnilyts surfaced from the river and sidled lazily to the beach. Birds were chirping and rain pattered gently down around him, teasing a smile from his lips. Wait a second... something's wrong Gnilyts looked up and saw the black sky, filled with lightning. His lips pulled up once again, but this time to reveal rows of massive fangs.

    I hate birds.

Gnilyts let out a might snarl and roared. Oh come on! It's only been like maybe a hundred years and there they are making all that BLOODY NOISE again! SHUT UP and GET OFF MY BLOODY ISLAND! The last thought blasted through the minds of every inhabitant on the beach.

    A day at the beach

There was a flurry of sand and flying insectizeals as Nya’s four limbs frantically shoveled away the blood-soaked beach that held her down. Within minutes, she was free and hauled herself out of the hole. As she rose to her full height, the ravenous creatures began to converge upon her, just as the knight predicted. Now all she had to do was lead them away and wait for him to.

Nyaladcthulxoteph began to walk, slowly lumbering down the beach, with the tainted crustaceans following. There were dead insectizeals everywhere. To lure even more to her, she began gathering up the corpses and carried them in her four arms. The creatures hissed and snapped at her armored hide. She winced as three of them latched onto her tail, but Nya thrashed them off.

As she glanced over her shoulder, she realized she’d gotten a safe distance from the others and a rather large crowd of insectizeals had followed her.

“Where’s the lightning, Jon!” she said in his mind, trying not to sound as frightened as she was. Armor or no armor, there were A LOT of them and only one of her.

“I’m working on it,” the knight grumbled aloud. He was still getting used to this telepathy thing.

The elf and her dragon flew away before he could speak to them. He followed on foot, slashing through a few insectizeals along the way. To his surprise and relief, she landed right next to the healer and the other wind dragon. So, lightning does strike twice, he thought, pleased with his luck.

Jon ran through the field of insectizeal corpses and puddles of blood rain, dragging his sword behind him. A blinding flash briefly turned the sky from darkness to daylight as the healer’s dragon spat an enormous bolt of lightning. This plan might actually work. He wanted to talk to the girl --he wanted to at least get her name-- but now wasn’t the time. She was busy healing Karen.

Instead, he ran up to her wind dragon and waved his hands, so the creature could see him. “Hail, hail,” he said to get the dragon’s attention. The look in her eyes made it clear she could understand him. “I need your help, dragon. We have a chance to strike a decisive blow against the enemy,” he said, and suddenly felt like a soldier again, back when he was first learning to fight.

“Over there,” he said, pointing to Nya and the insectizeals gathering around and on her. “Hit them with your best shot. Trust me, she can handle it.”

Drake winced, crouching as the thought blasted through everyone's minds. That cost him a chunk of flesh as an Insectizeal lunged for him, biting his leg, and the man hacked its body apart with a wild slash of his black claw. "Damn -another one!?" Mouth curling in a snarl behind the mask, Drake stood tall, his torn white garments now soaked ruby red by the rain.

That's it. They wanted me to be like him, then I will be like him! he thought, the dark claw clenching. Before anyone knew what was happening, a pulse of energy ripped through their bodies, filling them with power beyond their imaginations. The sand quaked and buckled like waves around him, and the insectizeal packs began to slow due to everyone's combined efforts. The remaining ones, however, began to hiss and click, confused.

Deep beneath the earth, Void's nostrils widened as he took in the scent of raw power. Raw, uncontrolled power that was like food to the starving dragon. His muzzle curled to reveal hundreds of teeth, and the lava encasing his body seemed to rise in temperature.

    Power. He wanted it. Now!

A deep, throaty roar shook the earth.

"Let me." said some a woman whom Blaine was convinced was an angel.

Who else saves the day in the nick of time?

Blaine's mouth stayed clamped shut as he hadn't yet wrapped up his lower half again. Blood dripped from the loose wraps hanging off him and he was close to passing out from his own injuries. The pain wasn't to much to bare but the blood loss was and he'd lost a lot more the nine pints.

He handed off Karen the passed out Karen to Koya and started watching them intently heal her as he fixed his bandages back around the lower half of his face so he could speak without hurting anyone.

To think she had gotten here first. Fate sure played a funny hand.

But Amara didn't find the current situation humorous, quite the opposite. Insectizeals were valuable to her people, but an annoyance. The greedy creatures took the kill for themselves, ridding the fun of a hunt.

She'd managed to light up a few fire arrows as she ran, leg calves burning under the blood-soaked sand. Some insectizeals had latched onto her legs, leaving behind deep gashes, spilling blood. Though, it was hard to tell if the blood was her own.

Amara continued to run along the bank, her eyes lifting to the sky as she watched the dragons struggling. She had two choices before her; get as far away from the cove, which would therefore rid her of any victory or continue to fight for said victory.

She chose the latter. Taking a deep breath, she struck another match and lit off a fire arrow, soaring towards a straggling insectizeal that had followed her. Wiping blood from her face, she turned direction to head back towards the others in the distance.

And then she felt it. A surge of power beat in her chest, easing through her body like a warm embrace. The power lit a spark of excitement in her hardened heart. Not even when she used healing magic had she ever felt like this. Amara's breath quickened and her eyes darted, searching for the source. Where had that come from?

SHUT UP and GET OFF MY BLOODY ISLAND!

Who in the heavens was that? Sounded like a grumpy 'ol dragon. "Posh! Is that any way to treat visitors!?" Luna demanded directing the thought to one who had roared in her mind.

"First off, my name is Luna...Jon." She reprimanded teasingly. "Also, you could say please." Luna chuckled and the throaty laugh could be heard both in Jon's head and through his physical ears. Just as Luna was about to comply she felt a surge in her magical energy. The question was where had it come from, not that it mattered at the moment. She inhaled a deep breathe and sent a large bolt of electricity flying towards Jon's earth dragon. This attack being twice the size of the last one thanks to the power surge.

    ------------------

Meanwhile Koya was finding that the child did not have normal skin as most humans did. Her healing was doing nothing and it boggled her mind. I know that i'm not that great of a healer yet, but skin is skin. Why isn't this working?
After several more attempts, and nothing happened, Koya dropped her hand. "I'm sorry, child." She muttered quietly. Even with this surge of power I can't help you. It appears you will have to suffer with that horrible mutilation the rest of your life. Just as I have. She lifted a hand to her concealed face, where the scar that marred her beauty lay. A horrible reminder of her past.

All of a sudden, the very ground shook beneath her. A roar, more horrible than any she had heard before, seemed to resonate through her being. As the roar faded her eyes turned milky white and she felt her vision fall far below the surface of the ground, towards the core of the earth. Koya's vision showed her a horrible black beast. A dragon with murderous and hungry violet eyes. His maw opened revealing hundreds of teeth, and the lava encasing his body emitted a heat so strong Koya was sure she'd melt. What horrible beast was this? Why would she see it? Did he have something to do with the blood-rain and the insects attacking her dragon?
Stop! I don't want to see this! Stop! She screamed within her own mind. Koya's eyes cleared and she began to shiver uncontrollably. Her eyes locked with Luna's who was staring at her intently. The blue dragon felt Koya's terror as her own, only her terror was far worse for she knew what Koya had seen.

    "The Void. He's awakened."

"Do you feel it?" asked Erde Welt telepathically.

    "...Yes." responded a tired dwarf.

Camdin tried to stand, yet the magical energy he was sensing made him fall back toward the sand. His knees plunged deep into the sand as he dropped his completely dimmed sword. His face sunk into the sand as the energy overcame his body.

    "Camdin! Get up!"

Camdin attempted to stand, but he had decreased his energy to the point where this much magical energy being sensed was too much for him. "What the hell is this thing?" he asked himself. He spit sand out of his mouth attempting to breathe oxygen. As the four insectizeals had finished their meals, that had stood once again to their feet and surrounded the downed dwarf. Erde Welt saw this and began to summon his power to help his friend.

The four beasts all charged for Camdin as their anger had resurfaced for the dwarf. Trees near the beach began to shake, and a trail of uplifting dirt was trailing on the ground, causing cracks in the dirt. Near Camdin as he was about to be ambushed four tree roots appeared from underground and swirled around the monsters and began to crush them. Their eyes began to pop out as their flesh began to escape from their mouths along with gushing blood out of the mouth and the cracks made in their bodies.

At the sound of this, Camdin relaxed his body attempting to regain his strength and trying to ignore the loud voices coming from afar.

Yes, this is exactly how I treat visitors. Now get o- The ground itself shook. Violently. Oh for the love of.... I SAID SHUT UP! The volcano which towered over the beach exploded, revealing the massive dragon within. With lava and flame dripping from his hide, Gnilyts glared at the beach. What the hell is this? What's with this rain? and WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THESE BUGS?!

    Jon & Nya

"First off, my name is Luna... Jon," the dragon said. "Also, you could say please."

He stared quietly as she took flight, and wondered if all dragons were like this. Sassy, chatty and, --though he would never admit it-- somewhat endearing. Jon shook away the thought and prayed Nya hadn’t overheard.

A booming voice startled him, demanding they get off the island. Jon wasn’t sure what they’d done to piss off Erde Welt, but he figured the enormous dragon should help instead of yelling insults at them. Then again, the words didn’t quite sound like something Erde would say. Maybe it wasn’t. Not for the first time, the knight began to wonder if they were being watched by something much more powerful and sinister…

As the dragon took flight, he felt a power swelling within him. His sword and armor felt nearly weightless and the pain and fatigue in every muscle suddenly washed away. For a moment, he thought this was adrenaline; perhaps he’d just gotten his second wind. But something didn’t feel right. He didn’t feel like himself. It felt as if someone else had poured this power into him… and Jon didn’t like that.

He was not alone. All around him, those who were still fighting seemed to suddenly gain the upper hand. When Luna unleashed her attack, it was many times larger than the one he’d seen before. The thunder clap was nearly deafening. Jon covered his ears as the lightning struck Nya’s armored shell and scattered, frying the insectizeals gathered around her. The electricity was so intense some of them burst into flames. It was over in an instant and left Nya standing among a pile of charred corpses, steaming in the bloody rain.

The mighty earth dragon dropped down into a sitting position and thumped her tail on the ground. At first, Jon thought she’d collapsed, but as he came closer, he realized she was wearing a toothy grin. “That tickled,” she said when he reached her. “But I mustn’t laugh. It would ruin the seriousness of-”

A mighty roar shook the earth. Nyaladcthulxoteph quickly got to her feet again and stood as if ready to fight. Her four hands were balled into fists and there was fear in her eyes.

“Is that serious enough for you?” Jon said, readying his blade as well. “Feel free to laugh, if it will make you feel any better, dragon.”

“There is nothing funny,” she said, her voice trembling. “He’s coming.” High above the town, Jon saw a beast of fire and lava burst from the top of a distant volcano and come flying down toward them. “Not him,” Nya said. “That’s just Gnilyts. I’m talking about THE VOID.

Jon didn’t like the ominous way in which she said ‘the Void.’

He also didn’t like how she had an enormous fire dragon as a neighbor and thought nothing of it.

"I say that she is gonna be ok..." said a man observing the unfolding events from a safe distance...

"You keep betting for that... yet somehow you always are right... is she special or what?" replied another voice, this one clearly of a dragon.

"Well... she had reached quite far.. is unexpected, but hey! it makes things more entertaining" said the man followed by a light laugh.

"I hope you haven't forgotten about your job." said the dragon with a more serious tone.

"Hey, hey, I haven't forgotten for years no? Just enjoy the show... besides is not as if I'm gonna let her die if things go wrong, I'm not that kind of person" replied the man.

One of the many lightnings that fell on the distance illuminated both the man and the Dragon.
The creature was clearly a fire kind, not very big but with a ferious look on his eyes.
The man had a very excentric look. He wore a long white coat and a white beret on his head that matched it. His pants were black and under the coat he wore nothing. He had numerous ornaments on his body, necklaces and bracelet, yet they didn't seem to be expensive, instead the choice seemed to be random. Two piercings carved his mouth and a bit more on his ears, his golden eyes reflected the light and a long dark blue or marine hair fell traveled through the back part of his white coat. It was also notorious that he wore no shoes at all, his feet were completely naked.

"I can't let her Dreina die, she is my very beloved sister after all..." mumbled the man.

"The void is coming..." mumbled the Dragon...

Yet they didn't move, always keeping a considerable distance to be safe and unnoticed and also observe the girl.
