Unit7 i'm an avid fan of horror movies, but to dream about it again later is the worst! At the risk of sounding less brave, I couldn't sleep a week without a blanket over my tv after watching The Ring the very first time xD I think i'll be watching Live in the near future :)

CaKster, you wouldn't mind going into details about your dream would you? Sounds interesting

I'd like to, but sadly my dream fades from memory after a few days each time I get it. All I can remember of it at the moment is that it involves a closed-down theme park. One scene (I recall my dream being strangely consistent, although many of my dreams are) takes place inside a giant water-ride that from the outside looks like a giant serpent.

Who knows, maybe it's just that one scene that keeps popping up in my dreams.

Oh man, that sounds vivid, it's tough though trying to piece together meanings from something seemingly random though huh?

One of my recurring dreams has me falling off a bridge x.x Don't even know why haha

Sorry I meant that Live was the movie being played at the movie theater in my dream. It was completely dreamt up. The movie I saw at that theater(why I went in I don't know) was actually a snuff film where people were put into some kind of maze and chased by mutant/zombie dogs to kill them. In the dream it wasn't until I went back(not the different dream) did I realize that Live was not in the sense of trying to survive, but it was being filmed as we watched(that make sense?)

As far as I know, there is no movie called Live with this premise. Though I have always wanted to turn this into some sort of short story or novel.

I even searched the Internet a bit for a movie like this.

Haha wow that's crazy! That actually sounds like it would make a great script for a movie though :D

I digress, hehe I'm gonna go get some sleep! Night everyone

I had a dream last night I rescued a gray fluffy kitten from a scary looking anime guy. I never ever have watched anime oddly.. I named the kitten Kevin. I have no idea why either... lol I've never been a fan of that name for a cat. Now I have a strong desire to get a gray kitten and name him Kevin. lol

Is it weird that I found that funny? :D

I had a dream about the Day in the Life lyrics again. I saw a picture of them on Associated Press, with Lennon's handwriting in sharp detail, in all caps, and this apparently went into my dream, where I was holding them and I could read the writing that looked exactly like the picture. I was standing on the auction block, holding them in my hands and staring at them with this awed look on my face. Think the look Charlie has after he finds the Golden Ticket.

Yeah. I would love those lyrics.

I love dreams. Last summer, I kept a dream journal, and after a few days of writing in it I was able to remember all of my dreams perfectly upon waking up, down to the last vivid detail. It was so cool :). I still vividly remember a bunch of my dreams from last July. I remember that after I stopped writing my dreams down, I was still able to recall them just as well the following day, without the need to record them (that lasted for about 2 weeks before I needed to start writing them down again in order to remember them). I think everyone should try keeping a dream journal at least once, it's one of the coolest experiences you can treat yourself to (rather easily), and a neat way to learn more about one's self. I was also surprised by how many different dreams I was having each night- about 3-4, depending on how much sleep I got ;). Just leave a marble notebook with a pen and a bookmark beside your bed (for easy access), and record everything you can remember about your dreams (even fragments) first thing in the morning ;)

One thing I wish I could learn to do is Lucid Dreaming. I've tried in the past, to no avail.

Has anyone here ever had a Lucid Dream?

No I don't think so. Well maybe.

I had this dream back in like 5th grade or something. If you ever played Super Mario 64, there is this Water level where you have to raise and lower the depth. If you have the dream took palce there. Anyways this girl I had a crush on was standing on this... hmm platform I guess that was floating on the water. I turn to some girl in my dream and I remember clearly asking her 'Is this a dream?' she says yes and I ask her again because I got real nervous. I had decided if it was a dream... then I would do something. She confirms it and I. Well I don't know how I got over to her. But I remember sorta tackling her and we both fell into the water and we started making out.

But I remember thinking that if it was a dream I had nothing to lose. If it wasn't a dream I would have done something else. So... maybe it was lucid dreaming, but only just.

Though it wasn't the first time I was aware I was dreaming. I could never get myself to enter a lucid dreaming though. I remember another time I was trying to read something and as I stared down at the words I couldn't read it. It wasn't until after that dream had I realized I have never actually seen writing in my dream. Anyways I remembered and Batman TAS episode where he figures out its a dream because he is unable to actually read.(unsure if thats true or not)

But either way in my dream I remembere that episode and for a brief moment I knew I was dreaming. Next thing I knew however I was awake.

Only a few times. It was usually when I was partially awake and having a nightmare and I told myself it was a dream and to wake up. One time was the time where I flew by eating magic jelly beans. lol Another time was a recurrent nightmare where I basically told my tormentor to f*** off and leave me alone that they couldn't hurt me. Then I never had that dream again.

I've had two dreams the past couple days that I can't fully remember and both have involved tv characters...

Yeah, I have actually :). Last summer, when I was really interested in dreams (I was reading books about dreams and lucid dreaming, lol) I did have a few, and it was AMAZING :D The sensation of being in a dream world while fully aware is unlike any other experience. It's really an incredible feeling, I don't know why lol, it's just so exciting and awe-inspiring.

The most amazing part about it (I think) is that moment when you become lucid. It's like a rush of color & sensation, and everything becomes more vivid than you would ever imagine possible in a dream world.

The best way to experience one as soon as possible is to write your dreams down on paper as soon as you wake up, for about 5 to 7 days. If you write your dreams down (as much as you can remember about them) every morning for a week, I promise you you'll have your first lucid dream in no time ;). I think the reason that this is so effective is because when you're writing down your dreams, you're really familiarizing yourself with what your dreams are like and that state of mind, which (after a few days of doing so) will help you realize that you're dreaming, during a dream :).

Constantly. Probably once every two weeks or so my entire life, sometimes more often than that. I had no idea this was a "hard" or "rare" thing to do till my friend was talking to me about a year ago because he too was trying to learn to do it.

It was always easier to do as a child than it is now, but it just kind of happens, and I do tend to wake up earlier than I normaly would when I take control of my mind when I'm asleep. It's an odd and wonderful feeling.

I had a weird experience though last night. These last couple of nights I've been having dreams that were so real, more real than anything else I've experienced. Usually my dreams are very symbolic and jumbled and nightmarish (I had nothing but nightmares my whole life, every night till I was about eight, I didn't even know what a normal dream even was.) but these have been so uniform and normal except everything about them is wrong. Last night I was living in Chicago, working at my friends bar and was sleeping with one of my close guy friends and having some sort of love drama; I had sisters and was taking care of a sick aunt who "had raised me since I was a child" and all sorts of normalish stuff that just can't happen. I woke up this morning and couldnt rememebr who I was for maybe half a minute. It was odd and frightening.

I always feel guilty when I have dreams like that about other men.. lol I wake up and I'm like wtf? I don't even know that man!

The other night I had a dream me, my dad, and my sister were in Ft Smith, Arkansas. My mom and brother were back at the house. The house was on fire and they weren't doing anything about it. They were just going to grab what they could and let it burn. I have no idea why. My sister and dad were being pretty mean to me in the dream because I was very concerned about our pets, my computer, and my writing.

It was so odd because I believe it was the old house in Owasso and no one cared that it was burning down. It was no big deal. But I felt this terrible sense of urgency about it.

It gets worse. Then I went to an old prefab that looked like the one my 3rd grade class was taught in and there were all these teens and 20 somethings there. They had made the old prefab into a mcdonald's and everyone was wearing twilight shirts. Team Jacob was on one side Team Edward on the other. People kept giving me dirty looks because (I think I was with Zack..) and neither of us had on twilight shirts or cared to pick a side. I woke up shortly after that.

I don't feel guilty, I wasn't lucid so I take no responsibility. Also, I think maybe he was a big part of my dream because I fell asleep talking to him last night.

    Ha, Twilight = instant nightmare.

I have horrifying dreams constantly but I like to feed them into my writing so I don't usually share them.

I had a really strange dream. Apparently I was like Spiderman but I was sorta like him in Spiderman 2 where his powers weren't working correctly(though I wonder if I was just crazy and thought I was)

I was with a bunch of Russian Special Force like guys and I was helping them extract some dude(might have been a terrorist or some leader of some criminal organization) anyways we were walking down my street and I noticed he had and RPG strapped to his back.

I remember saying that 'Hey is that the RPG you used to kill me?"(I had played a online FPS before going to bed and someone killed me with an RPG and killed himself lol) and he explains that yeah he was and we had a good laugh about it and explained why he felt the need to have one with him now. Don't remember his explination.

Anyways we get to this old abandoned building. We can see a bunch of men standing around talking and through the front windows we could see whats behind the building(it was actually enclosed off by other nearby buildings. Only way to get to it was either from the top or through the building) So I start looking around thinking how I could get up and over and get the dude(who btw was actually in that enclosed off area) I then had a deja vu feeling as if I had done this before... that maybe I had a similar dream.(or thats how I thought of the deja vu feeling when I woke up)

    So.

    Well actually I woke up.

True. I've grown up taking on guilt I shouldn't and it's a hard habit to break. I'm a lot better than I used to be. I've still got a ways to go though.

    hahahaha agreed.

That's cool you use them in your writing. :) I use my negative emotions somehow in my writing a lot of the time because it's a way to get them out. I always feel better afterward and it makes for very realistic emotions in the book. :)

I had some other dreams written down at one point, but I think they're lost now. This is the only one left.

Snow carpets the ground, and the sun is hovering over the horizon, but I don't feel the temperature. There is neither sensation of cold nor heat. It will be night soon, though, and I find myself in a field with a number of others milling about. There's no sense of purpose really to their actions, and I can hardly focus on them other than to notice that they are dressed in winter garb. They are effectively faceless for what it's worth. Then something worms its way through my mind. There's something very wrong here, and my eyes search furiously. Then I see it.

A creature watches me from a mere thirty yards away as the faceless ones continue wandering about, sometimes obscuring the beast from view with their bodies as they pass. The creature rests easily on four strong limbs, eyes focused on me like I am prey. Standing absolutely still, I notice its shoulders and chest are more of a human-like form, but its skull reveals a canine heritage mixed with something else. Something evil, my mind echoes. It's a demon I realize, and its dingy white fur marks it as a shadow against the field of snow, before it charges.

It's impossibly fast. And before I know it, it's upon me! Then the dream does something that dreams are wont to do and jumps ahead in time.

Once again I look over snow covered ground to the creature, who is poised as far away from me as it was before. This time however, there are only a few wanderers, and they are keeping to the edges of my vision. One other thing is different as well. There is a denuded tree trunk lying between us. And we find ourselves at either end of the snow-capped log, whose wet wood peeks through gaps in the covering. The demon takes a few steps to the side, taloned feet rising out of the snow only to plunge into the pristine whiteness at a new spot. Sometimes, there is a surety in dreams. And I know it's ready to charge me again in a straight line just as it did before. It doesn't disappoint.

There is a flurry of action near the other end of the log, as it kicks up a cloud of snow with its thundering charge. Instinctively, I grab the end of the trunk nearest me and with unimaginable strength heave it up and over into the creature's path, derailing its straight ahead assault. There is a sense of satisfaction as my dream jumps once again into the future.

Now I find myself herding others into a white-sided house with a dark-shingled roof. In a flash of strangeness, I notice that the windows don't reflect anything other than darkness. Then we rush in through the open front door for protection. I inform those gathered in the entry that the creature only charges straight ahead and urge them to arm themselves. We will impale the beast when it comes for us. I feel a weight in each of my hands and find I'm armed with a short sword and dirk. There is satisfaction as I stare out the front window taking in the scene.

The wanderers are once again in abundance. They move about the front yard of the house as disconnected as they were before. I know the end is near and then see the beast. It runs among them as if it's playing. Charging here and there disturbing the wanderers not at all. Then it's framed in the open front door, and I urge the others to be ready. It stares at us for awhile and then does the unthinkable. It charges off to play once again, and righteous indignation explodes in my mind. If it won't come to me, I will go to it and take its life, ending this cruel chase through my dreams. “The others will be safe as well,” echoes in the back of my mind.

I'm not an overly-brave person, but I've had enough. We face off against each other across the trampled snow of the front yard. But I have an edge. I know the creature will charge straight toward me in an unstoppable surge. All I have to do is muster the courage to hold the blades before me and the demon will be slain. Even though I may very well join it, I am resolute in this. Then it charges once again, and I greet it with a fierce smile.

The beast is almost upon me when it ignores my dream-time logic. It swerves to the side with preternatural quickness and snaps at my arm, missing purposefully. Then it is beyond me and I whirl to face it once again. Heartbeats pass, and I realize it has been toying with me all along. Briefly, I am filled with despair before chagrined laughter fills my soul. It certainly had me going, and I notice amusement in its eyes.

I'm left wondering if it was really a demon after all as I swim back to wakefulness.

I had a bizarre dream the other night. Yeah I know I probably say that just about every day.. lol

I can't remember all of it. I just remember that I was playing violin beautifully and I knew how to hold it correctly when I've never held one in my life. In my dream I knew that I shouldn't know how to play it. I think I was playing something by Bach..

I'll teach you how to play. ;)

I had a dream last night that my grandma died, and then right after that, my uncle died. He's only in...his thirties? Or early forties. At first, I was just a little surprised, but then all of a sudden it hit me that they were dead, but I had to go to work, and all I could think was "why the hell am I going to work, my grandma and uncle just died."

And then I woke up, and I thought it had been real. It was pretty horrifying until I figured out that it wasn't.

I did that once with my dad. :( I dreamed he had a heart attack. When I woke up I started crying because I thought it was for real for a minute. Even though he really pisses me off I still love him and wish he'd take better care of himself. I think I dreamed that because he isn't the best about taking care of his health. :(

On the subject of lucid dreams, I have those all the time.
Unfortunately, if I'm in control, things tend to get kind of crazy. I had one this morning.

Am I correct, Lucid Dreams are dreams you can control? And not purely imagination, but an actual dream?

Yes, lucid dreams are dreams where you can take control. I've only had a handful.
