You know I try not to be jealous of other bigger dudes, but I can't help it sometimes. I don't consider it jealousy to see someone who's got something you want and make you want it more... It's only jealousy if you hate them for having it and are unwilling to do what it takes to get it. And hey, you better watch out. As the saying goes, "it's not easy being green." And I buy your theory. Lazy punks don't want to do real work, they just want the show muscles to look right. they can't look weak in front of everyone else. I've decided to get over that. I used to be bigger and stronger, not I an only lift most of what I used to. I was too embarrassed to get in the gym. Finally I realized, no one's watching me, and it doesn't matter where I start. Doin' work gets rewards. I'm sorry, but I call those girls posers too. Do some dang work. When we're old and grey, I'm not going to be lifting your glass to your mouth when your thirsty because you were afraid of building muscle in your arms. I'm sorry, but there are more important things. Besides, stronger women do better with kids (no offense to thinner women!) I'm just saying, if you build a strong body you can handle the rigors of child birth and child-rearing a bit more easily (evidence: my mom, who was a track star, running jumping, and throwing before I was born.) And I sure doubt anyone would b that old trick. You're definitely a teacher, using that one ha ha!
Ah, but this isn't Facebook. These are forum 'avatars,' and we are basically anonymous people, depending on what we put onto our profile. We can have a lot of fun with avatars, as you and I do. Avatars are just tags that identify what we post. Facebook is different. We were instructed, when setting up our Facebook account, that our profile picture should be one of ourselves, 'as we see ourselves today.' Facebook profile pictures were never meant to be 'avatars.' It's so annoying to search for old remembered faces—wondering if these names are the people you think they might be—and get confronted by pictures of dogs and cats.
That's what Facebook wants, but it's not what I want of Facebook. I've never put a picture of myself on Facebook, and only twice shared a pic of me online anywhere. I was paranoid about that when I first got online in 1995. I guess it doesn't matter - everyone else does it - but I've just never been one to show people what I look like. (Don't worry - you're not missing anything!) On a couple of forums, my avatar has always been squirrels. Everyone who knows me knows I'm fond of squirrels and understand that if they see a post with a squirrel avatar, it's me.
