Well, on this Father's Day, I would like to recognize all of the dads out there and their kids. I'm not dad, but I'm a kid, which means I have a dad, so Happy Father's Day, Daddy! Happy Father's Day to all the dads we have on and off the Forums.
Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. I know that you do alot of hard work to keep the family together. Happy Fathers day!!!
I know Mr NaCl is on the list, too. and Mercurial's daddy. We have a long trip ahead of us today, Daddy and I. We've got about ten hours ahead of us today. Believe it or not, I'm very excited; I miss hanging out with my daddy, and I hope he misses being with me. Whether this is his favourite father's day or not, it's mine.
I just got a phone call today from my son, who has been incommunicado for weeks. And my daughter is coming over this afternoon after work to make dinner for me. I am blessed.
Father is the best "job" I've ever had. Thank you to those who remembered this day. I love that cartoon Hedgehog...it speaks volumes. Merc, have a wonderful trip with dad. In my life, I've had enormous swings in mood. Pure elation with the birth of each of my children. Great angst when life got too tough for one of my kids and a suicide gesture resulted. I've watched with a happy lump in my throat as young men took my daughters in marriage. I've done my job in war and held dying babies in an orphanage. Life has been a roller coaster of emotion, all contributing to the richness of life itself. But, the most difficult moment in my entire life was the death of my dad. To this day, I choke up when I wistfully think how much I would give for just one more hug from dad. Hell, I'd even be thrilled if he could call me on the phone one more time. The end is final. There are no second chances. So, no matter how busy you are, MAKE time to call or drop in on your dad. Don't procrastinate until you are left with regrets.
Happy father's day to every dad on the site! and of course my amazing dad! I don't know what I'd do without him and I know I am extremely lucky.
Good on to all the Father's who actually give a crap about their daughters and sons. I commend you, all.
My daughter came over and made dinner for me. She sauteed chicken breasts, and served tem over angel hair pasta with an herbed mushroom and white wine sauce, and with fresh asparagus, blanched and lightly sauteed. It was delicious, and she insisted on doing everything, including the cleanup, without help.
I love to cook. That sounds delicious, Cog. For father's day we (my sister, brother, and I) took our Dad out to dinner at an upscale-ish restaurant and then we went to a park by the harbor and visited an art gallery. He seemed to like it. A picture of the harbor park: (found via internet)
