Yeah, the free space I can get more of by deleting a bunch of unnecessary stuff, and I can buy a better graphics card, but is there really no other way to get a CPU speed other than buying a new computer? I'm 15 and jobless. There's no way I can afford a computer.

I'd say it's cheaper to buy an xbox. But, then again, I'm a laptop user, so...

Retail, you'd have to buy a new computer unless there is a store in your area that sells components. I don't think best buy or the like will sell processors though you could probably go to a Best Buy order a processor and pay retail + shipping and handling and they'll get it for you. You can go online and order processors new from places like Calibex and have them shipped to your home.

Go for a Pentium Duo or a Quad if you go that way. Be careful when removing your old processor and putting in the new one (get one of those rubber band bracelet things). You could also probably go to a Geek Squad or other hardware store and they might be able to help you install the new processor. Honestly though, your PC seems so old to me, that it might just be cheaper and time to buy a new one. Your computer sounds like it's from 2002 or 2003 and is about 5 years obsolete. Buying a 360 will be cheaper than getting all these components and less of a hassle than installing them (heck a PS3 is probably cheaper XD).

A graphics card and new processor that isn't old will probably run you between $600-$800 maybe more. Then there's the pain of putting the new stuff into your PC and taking the old out and making sure you have all the right drivers etc. But still it seems to me it might be time for you to look into a new rig anyway. Mine's from 2006, and I'm thinking about throwing her out and getting a new one maybe next year. But then again I'm a computer science major so a non-obsolete computer for me is a must XD.

You think I could play them on a laptop? I have one, but I don't know if it would work.

I'd really rather have a 360, but my mom won't let me. I think it's stupid; it's my money, why can't I buy it? But there's nothing I can really do about it. I have like $250 right now, so I'm not buying a new computer...

Anyone read the news on BioShock 2 yet? You can get the quick idea on Wikipedia, but if you can, go to the local Gamestop and "skim" the latest issue of Game Informer.

I almost started to hate them for making it a franchise, but then I went and played it again and found so much room for expansion. Whether it be focusing more on the creation of Rapture or the insanity of certain later characters, I would like to se a sequel.

Also, has anybody heard any new news about the Bioshock movie? I know the writing in the game is spot on, so the movie really shouldn't be that difficult to write.

Personally, I think the prospect of playing as a Big Daddy and adopting your own little sister just sounds awesome.

I know that the director is the same guy who directed Pirates of the Caribbean and the writer is the guy who wrote Gladiator. Other than that I know nothing XD.

It's a given. Video Game movies always suck and at best are mildly bad. I can't think of an actual good video game movie...

I don't understand sequel hate. If it's good it's good so why not wait till it comes out to decide whether the sequel is worth it? There's lots of room in the game story line for expansion and I wouldn't mind a few changes to streamline the experience more. Side quests would be cool... and take away from the point A to point B monotony of the first game. I also wouldn't mind a better system for buying items, like maybe a way to sell crap you never use? I have like 30 glue and nothing to use them on XD.

Wow (Game to movies released, to be released and TBA)

Some intreresting TBA choices. No doubt most if not all (except silent hill 2 are prob bullcrap)

Earthworm Jim - WTF!! how, haha

Deus Ex - Would possibly make the ultimate kickarse movie (The movie of all gaming movies!)

Everquest - Ha, ummm, how about no

Gears of war/Mass effect - CGI rubbish, without doubt. Thpugh a gears movie would be good (COnsidering the games had bugger all story)

Parasite Eve - Geez, what a cool game that was, i had forgotten it

Elder Scoll - haha, wtf!, get out of here, hahaha

    Must haves for 360

For 360, if these games aren't in your library get them now:

Mass Effect - One of the better RPG's out with tons of replayability. It also plays like an action game, no turn based combat here.

Oblivion - Again a great RPG with lots of customization and hundreds of hours of gameplay. Plus there's nice expansions for when you're done with the main game.

Rockband 2- Expensive to get all the instruments, but worth it if you have a family or frequently entertain guests. Optimally you'll need a microphone, Guitar, Bass, and Drums. The bundle comes with a guitar, drums and micropone (at around 180 dollars) so you'll have to buy a second guitar. The cheapest I've seen are around 30 bucks for a wired, 50+ for a wireless. It's a great investment though as it is pretty much the party game to end all party games. If you're thinking about Guitar Hero World Tour or Rockband 2, choose Rockband 2.

There are tons of great games on the system though, they definitely outdid themselves with getting a quality library. The problem with most 360 games is not how good they are, but the short length. Quality titles like Bioshock or Assasin's Creed can be rented and beaten in a rental cycle, with little incentive to go back. The ones I listed give you tons of bang for your buck. :)

Money, I guess... When you make a movie out of a game it already has an existing fanbase willing to see it even if it sucks.

They're making a halo film? That's awesome! But I wonder, if they did, who would the MC be? I mean, they can't go with John, as he is mute most of the time. Probably Keys or someone like that...

Advent Children is decent for fans of the series, but it's not really up to much scrutiny as a film in its own right. Its biggest problem stems from the fact that you really need to play the game to make real sense of who everyone is and what's going on.

AT LAST! SOMEBODY who shares this viewpoint with me!

I've managed to pretty much triple the FPS on GRID, and I have no idea how... :D

It's true. Heck, I played the game and still could barely keep up. But I still loved the movie, even if it was just for the great graphics and stellar fight scene.

The film's probably canceled. It has no funding and has been in limbo for a few years now. It's probably for the best. Thus far I've found everything the series produced great to mild and we don't need to ruin what is a pretty good score game wise with a horrid movie that will probably make no sense in the context of the series anyway (Doom, Silent Hill, Alone in Dark, what the crap did any of them have to do with the games they were based on save for a few pointers?).

I didn't like it after I watched it one time, I couldn't stand to watch it again. It didn't seem like Nomura took his time on it, it's just pretty to look at. I sort of regret buying it. I don't know if that new SF movie was good, but I doubt it just because of the actors they have.

Has anyone hear been playing SFIV? I've tried it at gamestop and it's pretty good.

Massive ff7 fan, hated AC big time and thought it sucked (victim of hype)

Halo was at one stage going to be done by Peter Jackson, but after making a lame movie (king kong) he realised what it would mean to make an even worse one.

Anyone ever beat Metal Gear Solid 3?

I've been stuck on The Boss for two months now. I can't beat her. I can't even get her to half health. Every time, she sees me, I try to counter by pressing O, 9/10 of the time it doesn't work and she throws me down. I punch and kick her down occasionally and then shoot her twice with the handgun (forgot the name). It does like 1/20th of her health. I get her health down 1/8 of the way, and it's already 7 minutes into the fight!

Please! Any help would be appreciated. I stopped playing the game for about a month 'cause it was too frustrating, and I'm still getting used to the controls again. I didn't get the Nagat or whatever the tranq sniper rifle is.

okay the boss...hmmm lets see. i remember when i played it i had tghe exact same problem. the thing is when she sees you she comes for you so naturally if she cant see you she'll run around for a bit until she finds you. i suggest using the snow camo or something the colour of the field if its not too effective and try find good spots behind some reasonable cover and hit her with the sniper whenever you see her.

    hope it helps

Why are you only using non-lethal rounds? In any case, it is important that you maintain a high camouflage index by lying prone. If you do not have a sniper rifle, remember you can always equip your binoculars. Because the game pauses when you open the equip menus, you can trail her enough to get her path and shoot her with any other gun of your choosing. Only attempt close-quarters combat after you have shot her, or you are in a desperate situation.

Also, there are three snakes crawling around the battlefield—solid, liquid, and solidus—so try to catch them. I can't remember what kind of benefits they give you, but it should be somewhat helpful. Your food stash has probably rotted, unless it's all rations and noodles.

In addition, there are great game guides at GameFaqs.com.
