I've been a fan of the PC series, Thief since 1999. The Thief modding community is still alive today and I'm a part of it. I'm actually a fan mission author. (Won second place in the last FM contest too. w00t) Any PC gamer out there looking for a unique stealth experience should check them out. (I mean Thief 1 and 2, not Thief: Deadly Shadows) TDS was poop compared to one and two.
I actually haven't had to grind too much so far (Thank goodness. I hate that too!). Most of the game's regions have enough quests that those alone are enough to get you too a high enough level to move on into the next area. If there aren't each level range has two or three regions to explore, so all of them keep my level nice and up. My only complaint with leveling is that after you hit thirty, it takes FOREVER and a whole bunch of quests to actually level up XD. PS: You know Pokemon is an exception for me too. Darn those Japanese. They can sell anything .
I did, it's a good solid game, but if you're into these type of games you NEED sins of a solar empire. It took x4 games and combined them flawlessly with rts games, getting the best of both worlds. In my eyes it outdated all x4 games and heck, even turn based strategy games. Plus I love the episodic mini updates. It gives the game new life, and it's affordable.
I has it. However, I've been playing one game for 15 hours and it's just degenerated into me having one huge fleet and going: "There. Move. Destroy. There. Move. Destroy." I want something a bit more tactical. Plus, I like the whole ship building feature. And the turn based system makes it more paced instead of just a frenzy.
I mostly play Fallout 3 and FarCry 2, lots to explore. Oh and Fallout 3 is my first real 3D RPG I every played. It was challenging to grasp the gameplay of it and the skills, but I got it soon after restarting for the third time as a new character. I have got a PS3, PS2 as well but I don't play it. It's in my closet. My all time favourite racing game is Most Wanted by Blackbox(NFS)
I play quite a few of those kid type games with my kids, on both the Wii and 360. I did enjoy finishing CoD-World at War for my son (he's only 7 and impatient when he can't finish a level.) So I finish all the levels first so he can take his pick of which levels to play in what order. Have to say I got into trying to make all my shots head shots. hehehe I installed Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2 on my computer a few weeks ago. I find it is a fun game when I need a break from the story. It only takes about 15 minutes to fight through a level, so just long enough to take my mind off things, but short enough to not tie up my whole day. Still love me some Mario Kart. I remember the first SNES Mario Kart. I played that game so much I was seeing Mario driving in front of me after the game was turned off. I like the Wii set up with the steering wheels, I seem to be better at it that way. However, I still hate Rainbow Road. Of all the Mario Kart games I have played for each system, I have always hated that course. I always fall off the road! I can't play first person shooter games on the computer. I am totally retarded when it comes to using the keyboard to do things in a game. Especially if it wants me to use the mouse at the same time. I'm like dur--dee--dur... My kids find this hilarious though, because they grew up using the key board for moving and the mouse at the same time. Sad thing is that I'm not that old! lol
Has anyone played Deadspace? You have to get this game. It's so freakin awesome. I just got it and I'm all super excited about it. This is the game Doom 3 should have been.
I haven't played Dead Space yet, but it looks really good. I liked Left4Dead...scared the begeesus out of me. Fear did too.
I want Left4Dead and F.E.A.R. Project Origin. And Deadspace is a really good game. It's difficult and it does give you the jeebies.
I'm typically more into first person games, especialy for horror games, but I've heard that Deadspace does the over the shoulder look quite well.
Deadspace had good graphics and gameplay but was too complicated, or may I say difficult as well. The controls were confusing and hard to get used to. It was scary actually but I lost interest. I played the Demo on PS3 and that's all.
Really? I thought the game was a little too easy save for the highest difficulty setting. That I'd describe as challenging. I didn't have a problem with the controls. They're the same as those of the RE games since 4. The only difference is that the makers of Dead Space, realized the stupidity of not letting the player move while aiming. I actually found the controls very natural, though maybe they would seem strange to people who've never played the genre before.
Wow, that's horrible. I've never been a big RE fan though. "Jill, here's a lockpick. It might come in handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you." /facepalm
Yeah. I like RE5. Its a good game. That my only real compliant. i mean, come on! I got five zombies coming at me, what idiot just stands there? I agree with the Game Informer review, in that its a really cheap and artificial way to boost the games difficulty against the stronger and faster opponents.
Thats the only thing in RE5 that i hate. Not being able to move while shooting is just unforgivable. Other than that i find the game pretty good, especially when you're playing with a friend.
Just spend the last 2 days watching the live E3 coverage Microsoft - Pretty good Nintendo - Load of crap (No Zelda!) Sony - I may now need to buy a Ps3, simply because of The Last Guardian. That is a "OMG" game, if i ever saw one! I havent been a fan of sony sonce psone days, but they did a good show.
Giant Furby. Seriously though, the game does look pretty sweet. I've been playing through Fallout 3 again. (With some of the extra content)
I still haven't opened my copy of fallout. Been sitting in plastic for 3 months with a few others. Not enough hours in the day.
You sound like me. It took me several months to get to Fallout. Right now I have a copy of Gears of War 2 (bought right after Christmas) No More Heroes (bought a long freaking time ago) and a handful of ds games all in their original wrapping...
I've heard many people gripe that it takes too long to level up or find money or ammo in Fallout 3. This couldn't be further from the truth. Infact, I thought it was far too easy. As long as you like scavenging/exploring abandoned areas in a desolate wasteland, (and I do- that's one of the game's main charms for me) than you will never have a problem. And on my second playthrough I've noticed- Though story quests stay the same, (they kind of have to) it will not be the exact same game again. So many random encounters that happen, or may not. I know this because I saved in a certain spot and died over and over again after reaching a certain point and didn't remember to save before I got there. Well, each time I ran past the same area where an encounter would occur. The encounter was different each time I went through. First time: Pack of wild dogs attacked me Second time: Bunch of giant scorpians attacked me Third time: Nothing at all Fourth time: Wasteland scavengers were arguing over the freshwater that was in a fridge (which was standing in the middle of a parking lot) and I saved them the argument by killing them and taking it for myself. Fifth and last time: Raiders ambushed me. It's pretty neat just how different each playthrough can be in that game.
One of my sisters works for a gaming magazine, i cant believe how much she gets delivered to her (Which is useless, cause they gets to take copies home for reviewing, testing and the likes) so she always has second or third copies of everything Gaming arnt as good as it used to be, so i don't bother opening up games that are eye game and give minutes of gamplay (fallout = ok maybe 20 houes).
The old Fallout games was were the fun was at. Their still REALLY fun to play 10 years later (Humour and quirkyness and all). Fallout 3 wont be in ten years time. Nothing beats worms with 3 mates, a drink and a pizza! (
