22 days and I'll have a PS3 Shame games cost so much. Luckily, I'm getting Fallout 3 for £10 off one of my mates.
I would definitely consider myself a gamer. I've got a 360 and a Wii (which I hate but my mom and sister won't let me sell it). Right now I'm playing Halo Wars, but there is a huge list of games I need to get to. College has gotten in the way a little.
It's been a funny generation of games this time around (360/PS3/Wii) I have the 360 (and Wii), can't say (for me) there has been any Greatest games ever come from it, but god darn, i can count about 20+ fames i dont own, that i want too. Least i'll know i wont be needing whatever consoles come out in the fututre because its going to take year's of catching up. Was going to pre order FFXIII, but i figure i'll hold out on buying new games until i get that television upgrade that i need.
PC version or watered down console version? I'm playing the watered down one currently- though I haven't touched it in weeks. I'm actually revisiting S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for PC at the moment and loving it. This Dev team's next creation that comes out in a few weeks (Metro 2033) looks great too.
I'm playing the PC version. It's one of the few games in recent years that I've actually enjoyed enough to play more than once. I'm determined to try out every race/class combo!
Have the system, have the TV, just need the stupid cable! Only six more days now... I'm making a trip to the city to pick it up... Don't judge me.
I enjoy it. My biggest gripe is the voice acting (sometimes decent- sometimes pretty terrible) and AI team mates occasionally not doing what I have them programmed to do. It's a great game overall, though.
It's okay, i did this for Mass Effect 2 and The darkness (Both of which i got a few days before street date). Played ME2 on a Full HD with the cords the other day, and i just cannot go back and finish it until i get a HD setup now. Plasma's and Lcd/Led have dropped MASSIVLY recently. A full HD 55 inch samsung (with blu ray player) is about $750 USD now. I'm assuming the new (stupid) 3D televisions coming out late this month must be causing the drop. Which is great for those living in 1980. 15 years of gaming, and its funny how things never change. 'No, no. Don't do that!!!! Get over their you foooool!!!!!'
The first ViDoc was amazing. My friend texted me today telling me there is a new multiplayer video out now. I am so watching it when I get done with classes today. I just hope the finished product doesn't let me down like Halo 3 did.
I wouldn't necessarily say it was terrible, but I think it was hyped up so much that it couldn't possibly live up to everyone's expectations.
Agreed- and even the first isn't too great for me personally. I mean, it's alright, but I never saw the greatness that my friends did. I think I was just spoiled by the 'golden age' of PC gaming.
Well, I just thought that the single-player campaign on Halo 3 was a disappointment. A lot of the weapons were super-powered too, compared to Halo 2. In general I like the series, because I think it's a lot of fun to do multiplayer, I just wish they would do better.
I have really annoying friends who are exceedingly good at CoD: Modern Warfare 2. Someone just sniped me from a bridge on High Rise, and darted across the gap from one bridge to another when I turned around and fired back - it's a long way to fall if they slip! I think I might destroy their Tactical Insertion, though. That way I can actually follow them.
I feel Reach could be special, but Bungie has just been so multiplayer hard (fine for PC in my books) and too cut and paste single player lately. Now, over the past day i have heard Valve has added certain code to portal (which isnt game related_ and people are talking about the possability of Episode 3 (Half-Life 2) being released soon! (Yes another overrated game) but for SP, it's my kind of game.
That annoyed me in the beginning (and I still want to correct some of the bad dialog every time I hear it) but I soon grew to love the character interactions. My only complaint is the ending -- every option sucks imho But I love the gameplay. I'm currently playing on normal with a goal of keeping my entire party alive throughout each fight. Not sure if I'll make it with the High Dragon up by the Urn, but I'm going to try.
Dragon Age has to be the best RPG I've ever played. I'll admit, I don't play many Oh, and the Rome: Total War series has me captivated at the moment. Blatant historical inaccuracies aside, it is SO much fun to kick Rome's collective arse as Carthage or the Celts (Gaul, Briton...doesn't really matter ) The sense of joy I get from drawing the Romans out of formation with skirmishers and light cavalry, then holding them in place with infantry while my cavalry/elephants smash their flanks is far too much for a game. Maybe it is because I am a nerd and used to be in the SCA when I was younger and competed quite well in their also incredibly historically inaccurate "armored combat." (read: put on armor and smack each other with Rattan sticks until someone falls down. Multiply by 2000 and you have a typical SCA "war.")
