I haven't seen anything as of yet, that's so different in terms of gameplay and AI from RE4 to 5. I think just the graphics would have to be slimmed.
lol. It's not that weak XD. Capcom makes very flexible low-tech games (low-tech by modern game terms). Certainly the graphics will probably get a slight down grade, but I doubt processing power is going to be a problem. People should realize RE5 is just RE4 with new wallpaper and some new mechanics. It's not like they've rebuilt the game from scratch (the demo makes this so obvious). RE5 is probably running on the same game engine as RE4, which is the only thing I can come up with to explain why the two are so similar in technical areas. The difference in graphics running the game are barely even noticeable! A Wii RE5 would probably be more or less the same but with the spirit of ports will most likely in the spirit of Capcom ports be the exact same game minus any glitches. The system's technical ability is not the only reason games don't make it or that content is cut. Halo 3 could probably play on the Wii with a slight graphics downgrade! But Bungie has a deal with Microsoft and I can't think Halo 3 would find it's best market on the Wii anyway. These are the reason's RE 5 isn't on the Wii: Demographics (ok, reason). In all likely hood the best market for a game like RE5 is not on the Wii but on the 360 and PS3 (imo the absolute best market for it would be PS3). I was shocked RE4 was a Game Cube game years ago! I didn't see how they thought that would get them the most profit. It's far more likely Capcom is considering the sales of RE4, which sold better on the PS2 than the Wii and Game Cube versions combined. They know where their market is and they're using it. It's not (read not) a technical problem. Capcom however almost always makes ports of it's games if they think they can make money of it, so it's likely that RE5 would eventually go Wii.
It just frustrates me. I love "hardcore" shooters and such games, and yet I have a Wii and no 360/PS3. I would buy RE5... That's why I want a 360. The Wii could be so great, if 3rd parties would just make more good games...
Or if Nintendo offered more support. The company is notoriously difficult to work with. Lots of companies have complained about it in the past and some refuse to do anymore work with Nintendo because of it. Also, the Wii just doesn't seem to me to have the demographics for a shooter console, which is ironic because you'd think the duck hunt style controller would be shooter perfect XD.
Kratos is right. Hey, I see you changed your avatar to Gordon. Virtual Half Life High Five! *high fives*.
The Ds has to be the console of choice, be it a handheld I havent really played mch apart from my DS this year (was the only one i could take with my on holidays).
Virtual Half Life High Five back at you! *high fives* For the DS, some of the best games are: The World Ends With You- awesome and unique action rpg. Elite Beat Agents- the weirdest and most awesome music game ever. New Super Mario Brothers- it's super mario bros., but new The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass- it doesn't really feel that much like a Zelda game, but it's still awesome. Animal Crossing: Wild World- the best animal crossing game And ports/remakes of other games: Final Fantasy IV Chrono Trigger DS Disgaea DS
man i loved that game when i played it, and i played it as an adult so the nostalgia goggles didn't even come to play, it was just pure awesome. It's too bad there weren’t any more chrono's made after chrono cross. That game kicked ass to.
Did you hear? Dead Space Wii is coming! Also, Crytek (Crysis, Far Cry) absorbed Free Radical (TimeSplitters). That was the good news. Bad news that made me rip my hair out (not really), Dragon Age Origins is pushed back to quarter 4 of this year to quarter one of next year. It was supposed to come out early march...aaaarrrggh!
Been hyped about Halo Wars sinse the day it was mentioned (With Peter jackson) Then my Xbox360 died. Tell me aLL about it when/if you purchase the full game!
I wasn't overly impressed with the demo. I liked it, but still... IMO, if the final product is of the same caliber as the demo, it'll be the second weakest Ensemble Studios game I've played, just barely beating Age of Mythology. My main problem with it was that I couldn't seem to get an edge in skirmish mode. Every time I built up an army that looked like it might be able to take on the Covenant, the Covenant would attack and wipe out half of my little guys. And so on... Defending a base is something I can do, and I can also fight two completely different battles at the same time. But for some reason, I cannot, for the life of me, defend and attack.... That and the fact that it seems like every unit is good against one other kind of unit and absolutely horrible against everything else. A bit of an edit: I did manage to beat the computer today. So my complaint is no longer that it's impossible to gain an edge; now, it seems like once one player gets that edge, the other player is pretty much screwed. I'm not a fan of this "you can only build your base in certain spots" system at all. Hopefully, it won't be so bad in other maps that have higher population limits...
I was able to manage that after playing the Eldar in Warhammer 40K on my PC. Just have to use combined arms tactics to the extreme. Deploy units properly and it's not a problem. The main problem I had was that it's an RTS controlled with an analog controller, which is a pain. Much slower than a mouse/keyboard macro system (and the Ai could already dish out the orders faster than any human can XD). I just picked up a game called X3: Terran Conflict for my PC. The frame rate is horrible from time to time, and the game really needed a massive tutorial, but now that I'm into it it's great. Nothing's better than personally piloting a light carrier through an enemy space fleet while my fighters swirl around blasting everything XD.
Ok, might be going slightly BSG mad here but I'm downloading the Battlestar Galactica Fleet Commander mod for Homeworld 2. Looks good.
A lot of them are just copy and paster jobs, as in, you paste the files into your game directory and they overwrite certain files (Back up beforehand) or there are some that are packaged as an .exe file, like Fleet Commander, that you can uninstall like a normal program. If you look on the website that offers the mods, it should tell you how to install them. Hope this helps.
Now downloading Warhammer 40K Dawn of War II. I played the beta but wasn't to pleased with it. I'm hoping however that the full game is much better. I loved the first game and it's expansions more than enough to fork out $50 on this game even if I don't like it.
What do people think about Fallout 3? I bought Oblivion awhile ago, played it for about a week, and then haven't touched it since. I didn't even get that far either. Is it really similar to Oblivion? Boring? Awesome?
The graphics look similar, and I'll agree with anyone who says it's a fancier Oblivion with guns. It really is similar to Oblivion but more interesting
I brought the game asap, played it and finished it off. Have not touched it since, nor will I Average game, thoiugh fun while it lasts.
I hated Fallout 3. I can't tell you what in particular it was, since I hated just about everything about it. But perhaps the one thing that turned me off the most was the fact that everything is dark, dysmal, and dirty. I played for a few hours total and didn't see anything that didn't make me want to break the disk just for being so gloomy (fortunately, it was a rental, so I didn't have to keep it). I hate dystopia. In other news, has anyone else seen the Mass Effect 2 trailer? It drops quite a bombshell...
