Oh man are you in the beta? I'm going to gladly give that game my life for years to come. That and probably Blizz's next MMO, assuming they put enough PvP in it.
I want to play Blizzaard's next MMO and the new Star Wars MMO from Bioware. But I have no self-control with MMO's. So I cant, haha.
Haha, dammit! I accidentally sent back my Skyrim disc to Netflix instead of the new terrible Conan reboot.
I got done playing Forza 4 with my friends last night, playing on Tag and crashing into each other while cars fly out of the map XD. It's so fun! lol
So, what do you think of ME3? I myself am about an hour in and already I have noticed quality issues, nothing too major but still. It feels like its just chopped up; EA is very easily felt about the game. And the guy James Vega, who the f is he supposed to be anyway? I have never seen him before in this series. He's there right from the beginning as if he has always been there but the fact is he hasn't.
I'm really eager to get ME3, but I can't until my semester is over and I go back home and get enough money. So I'll be in the dark for a while. What scares me is the public outcry regarding ME3's ending. Is it really that bad? So terrible that it made players start a petition? I really hope it's just overreaction.
Wait, what? No, I don't want to know until I can afford the game and find the time to play it. Just going back to my rock for that game.
I've read about issues ME3 has and so far they are quite true. One that annoys me the most is that three actions have the same key - cover/run/use - and you can't change it. That really is very stupid, it gets you killed in the game... happened a few times already. What else I noticed is that graphics quality is too low (and I have everything on maximum). My hopes for the game aren't up. Ever since BioWare got involved with EA the quality of their games has gone down and prices of their games up (via these so-called DLCs). All I really want is an ending to the story. And that is the most hated part of the game.
That 'same key' thing sounds like it'll be annoying - especially if it doesn't let you map them to different keys. But I have no problem with low graphics. As long as it's on par with ME2's graphics, I won't be bothered. I've heard many bad things about EA 'cutting' content out of the game and making them into first-day release DLCs. Now that is a sideswipe to everything the series has ever grown into so far.
I hear Diablo 3 is coming out on May 15! I've been playing and loving Mass Effect 3. Oh, I had no idea it was impossible to remap that action key. I found the default layout acceptable. Yeah, I understand the potential problem of using the same key to perform several actions. I've never run into any trouble with it, though. For example, I've never intended to dive for cover, only to find myself open a door instead. As for the day one DLC issue, we have no idea if Bioware's actually "cut" any content. Once a game is declared finished, there's a long period before it appears on shelves. If Bioware developed the DLC during this waiting time, I see nothing wrong with them releasing it on day one. Sure, just to avoid annoying gamers, they could wait a few months even though the DLC is already finished. But that just sounds silly. Dante Dases, I've been looking to get into Skyrim, too. It's such a time sink, however, so I've been holding back.
Actually, it's been proven that the DLC was developed in league with the main game, then cut out the last minute. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link it here, but if you google/youtube search, you'll find the evidence. Basically, files for the extra squad-member which comes with the DLC can can be found in the files of the main game, they're just not activated. This indicates that the squad-member was ripped out of the main game and placed on a DLC. Also, I blame EA, not Bioware.
Insert mass effect 3 ending hatred 5 reasons into google search and you'll come around an article on those issues (it has 'spoilers'). There are plot holes, unexplained and illogical occurrences, and more. After reading that I am so happy I decided to pirate the game first - no money wasted. And even as I pirated I am not going to play this game any further, probably, the ending does suck really bad. I'd rather let it die unended than have a very bad one. It's like they developed the game to a certain degree and then stopped or ran out of time and rushed the rest. Not to mention their DLC idiocy. And yes, EA is to blame. One thing EA is good at: destroying good games (actually, it looks like it's destroying good stories, which is even worse) and companies. One game I definitely will not pirate is Diablo 3. Gonna wait for reviews and see what people think of it and then buy it, if it is as good as it should be. Current price on their website is 60$ and here in Europe it's 60€ (that is approximately 78$). Very stupid, 1$ does not equal 1€. Either way, feels a little too high, unless the game is that good.
That is so annoying. I've honestly never bought a games DLC (for games such as ME3) and probably never will. Is the DLC like ME2 where to take advantage of it, you would basically have to replay the game?
Not defending ME3 because everything with that has been handled pretty badly, but the DLC for ME2 was generally quite good. Overlord was fantastic.
Heh, it's just as much Bioware's fault as it is EA's. Bioware has been very submissive in their relationship, they are allowed to say "enough is enough" if they feel like the publisher is going to give them a bad reputation. Granted, they do need EA to get their game out, but that doesn't mean EA gets to control their every move, and if it is, then Bioware has enough reputation to back out of EA and find a new publisher. I'm currently playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Good game but there is a button mashing sequence which makes me want to end life...
Wow, CheddarCheese, I had no idea there was evidence to show that content was stripped out! You made a great point about blaming EA and not Bioware. There is definitely an ethical issue in play, then. Is it possible that the extra content was in production, and to meet the deadline, they decided to finish it off as DLC instead? If the disc contains only pieces of the DLC code, that's a possibility. Allan Paas, that's cool. I'm interested in reading up on what people hate about the game. Yeah, I've heard the ending sucks. I still need to beat the game and see for myself. Diablo 3 is exciting indeed. I'm just worried about getting RSI from all the mouse clicking!
I'm on spring break, which I have spent writing and playing Zelda: Skyward Sword. I started it over winter break, but was unable to finish it. It was killing me! Who needs a spring break in Florida when there's a princess to save?
You're right, Overlord was my favorite DLC in ME2. That was back when they knew how to make DLCs correctly. It seems to me that Bioware's only fault in this was choosing EA in the first place. EA now technically owns Bioware, and probably has more power over them than one might think. Another Zelda player! I'm not alone! This almost happened to me too, but I managed to rush through the game at the cost of ignoring most of the side quests. Let me tell you - the final boss is damn hard to beat with a wooden shield.
I just looked it up. EA does own Bioware. I still blame Bioware though, they are allowed to voice their opinion against their overlords. Well maybe they did and their opinions just didn't matter. I wasn't a fan of Mass Effect to begin with, I watched a friend play a bit of the first one, and while the writing (particularly in the dialogue with companions) was good, I found the story to be quite bland. Bioware seem to be good writers but not good story tellers in my opinion. The control scheme in Mass Effect is horrible, the cover system makes me feel like I'm glued to a wall, many third person shooters do cover much better. Needless to say, the Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 demos left me with a bad taste in my mouth. My opinion on Bioware has often been quite bad; I could never play more than 30 minutes of Knights of the Old Republic because I found the writing to be very bland, too dumbed down, and the gameplay was god-awful; and I tried many times! Dragon Age: Origins had awful gameplay but somewhat interesting writing and a decent plot, but the gameplay ruined it for me. I wasn't expecting an MMO style combat system (nothing wrong with MMO's but its gameplay shouldn't be invading other games), I don't like micro-managing either. Dragon Age 2 turned that around, offering better gameplay but destroying the story completely. Star Wars: The Old Republic is the first Bioware game I've liked. They had succeeded in telling me a good story (depends on what class you pick, I've only played one so far) and offering fun combat. As you can see, I have tried to enjoy Bioware's products from the near beginning. I have not and never will give up on them. They just need to balance it out - I love story, but the game mechanics are equally important! Can someone recommend me a good game? I haven't bought one in a while and I want to play a good one!
