ME3 was a good game on it's own merits, It's ending was not. The big problem with the ending was that nothing you did prior to the end had much of an effect on the overall outcome. What upset me most though was the lack of difference in the outcome of each choice. They told us that each ending would be very different from the others; they meant to say each ending would have a very different color. Oh and if you chose to run up the middle the leaves in the ending cinematic glowed blue...... because they were part machine now. Yeah. Different colors.
Well, opinions differ from person to person. I for one, found Mass Effect 1 & 2 brilliant, and they are easily my favorite RPG games out there. As for recommending you games, it depends on what kinds of games you like. Action? Adventure? FPS? Story? Beat-'em-ups? RTS? Other?
Ok, just finished Skyward Sword. I feel so satisfied right now. What a great story, you know? It's basically the same story every time, but the adventure never gets old.
Anybody here play Age Of Empires Online? I just downloaded it but my computer's being irritating so I can't play at the moment. It looks very interesting, how does it stack up to the original RTS games and other MMOs?
I can almostplay games using the PS2 emulator. Almost. At least the movie sections play smoothly. Too bad I'm too cheap to buy a computer specifically for gaming aspects... Though, I honestly have no idea how anyone played the legend of Zelda game for the super Nintendo with out save states I realized quickly enough why I never beat it as a child.
Kaymindless, Zelda on the SNES is on my to play list, too! The closest I've ever gotten to beating a Zelda game is the one on Gameboy. That needs to change. Okay, I've beaten Mass Effect 3 last night. After hearing nothing but complaints about the ending from everywhere, I had zero expectations. Because of that, I found the conclusion acceptable. As you might know, theories on the ending have been going around. I'll leave it at that to avoid spoilers. For those who have finished the game, though, I'd love to discuss it. I considered starting a new thread but I'm unsure if that's warranted.
I never even beat the gameboy one. I've got a list of old school games to play that I never beat when I was younger (for various reason.) It is slightly made easier by save states on the emulators so I don't have to constantly redo dungeons when I get killed.
Anyone heard of Dragon's Dogma? Its being made by Capcom and comes out in May. Looks amazing! So gonna buy it
Please tell me you've tried Ocarina of Time? That is the epitome of all Zelda games out there. There's a reason it's still considered one of the best games of all time, even though its so old.
Agreed. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword actually do a great job living up to the Ocarina of Time standard, but are simply not as great as OoT.
had it since it came out. have only played it for a short period of time. Other games have been in the way.
Does anyone here know of any books that remind you of FFVII, VIII, or or any jrpg set in a modern-like world?
I've looked very hard to try and find a book similar to a final fantasy type story, but have had no luck. Which is exactly why I'm writing one!
I am too and I was wondering because I'm writing a query letter and want to mention some authors whose work might be similar to mine.
Unfortunately, it's one of those games I've missed as a kid! I plan on playing it someday, but, well, *looks at my pile of games to play*, yeah. Games I'm playing now if anyone's interested: - Growlanser (PlayStation 1) - Sakura Taisen 2 (PSP) - Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP) - Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PC) Of course, playing four games at once just means I'll need four times as long to beat them.
I'm playing Wild Arms for the PS1 now I've had to pause because, really, it's broken my brain a couple of times. Easy as pie story to follow/stuff down your throat, then annoying little puzzles. I also paused on ff2 or 3 (I'm honestly not even sure because the number changes depending on versions you get) There was some translation errors (Don't tell me to go NW when I actually need to go NE) and another one where the story is shoved down my throat, repeatedly. (Or I just feel that way, dunno.) I'm almost convinced myself to pick up Skyrim and finish the darn game already (at least the main story line.) It is slightly amusing to be sniping with a bow.
Picked up Dark Souls last week. This game is kicking my ass. I watched a really good series of Youtube videos on the lore of the game and I found out the game has a much deeper story than I originally knew. It's given me a few ideas for future writing projects. Also those dogs in the Capra Demon boss fight can burn for all eternity.
Finally got around playing, Dragon Age: Origins. God, there is sooo much talking in that game. You can go hours without actually playing (kicking butt). Kind of okay, kind of annoying.
Hmm I think I have completely forgot about the talking part. If it helps usually once the talking part is done there is usually a pretty lengthy dungeon of some sort that needs defeating. I think. I have only beaten the game once and I just remember it took me awhile to get through most of the dungeons. But I also ended up dying quite a bit too.
There is! So very, very much. It's also one of those games where I get to get distracted by trying sleep with everyone. Did not work out well.
Maybe you skipped it, which thankfully you can. Enjoying it this time, but i'll be skipping them during the 2nd 3rd and 4th playthough (for Achievments) Plus, most the talking is with all the side quests, which i will not need to do a second time. So far the dungeons are not that big, but i'm not all that far in i think.
Writers complaining about dialog, BLASPHEMY! I never played the game and I'm sure it can get overwhelming though. I am playing through Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura and trying to decide if I should buy Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate 1, or Baldur's Gate 2 next. Suggestions welcome .
Dude, Planescape:Torment and the Baldurs Gate series are AWESOME. Also the fact they were around when PC gaming was at it's best says a lot. It won't dissapoint, trust me. Torment is all talking as well, but it's so wonderful. BG is AD&D at its best. With DA, i just never expected it when i bought it. The reviews never really covered it. I just have so many games to finish, and knowing i have to do 4 wakthroughts means it'll take a while. NOT a bad thing.
