Quick question for you- how good is the multiplayer on Uprising? My brother's picked it up and seems to be loving it, but I'm torn on whether to just wait until he's finished with it and borrow his copy to play through or take the plunge and buy another copy so I can thrash him online :p

First of all, you control KI:U by using your thumb on the slider and index finger on the shoulder button, and holding the stylus with the other to move the camera and shoot. It's so awkward, but once you get the hang of it, you'll see these controls are hundres of times better than using two sliders. (you can technically use the Extension Pad, but it's only to let us lefties control Pit with a slider. You can't control Pit with one slider and the camera with the other.) As you can imagine, it can take a while to get used to these controls. The thing to remember is once you go online, 'everyone are experts' with the controls. The online modes are just regular deathmatch and team deathmatch (with a few twists), but the styhlus-camera is essential. If you get the hang of the camera, playing online is a lot of fun. But if you don't get the stylus-camera, going online is pointless. ;)

I am just going to say this on those ships: I had no clue why I would want a race that could breathe underwater or waste one of my jewelry spots on something that would let me breathe under water. Then on a random swim, found the ships and realized that the bar goes red. Every other thing that required me to swim, wasn't too deep that I just came up for air out of habit.
and then you get bored because you have upwards of a 100 quests open and you're not even sure where to begin anymore. I don't know, they've probably fixed it by now on the xbox but quests were glitching out for me with so many, I could close a few of them because they didn't register that I killed the head huncho of the cave/hideout/whatnot.

And to finish off my post because there was an issue with images?

Yep. It's those dragons, they eventually are a chore. I swear, I've got enough dragon bones and scales to make, at the very least, three more suits of armor and weapons. The only interesting bit, after a while, was when it glitched and gave me two dragons to fight at once.

I don't know, I chose to play as a rogue. And I got a little bored once I maxed out my bow usage and sneak. I'm the idiot who risks glitching so I can climb the mountain and snipe the badies from where they can't get me. For such a large game, I thought it would take longer to max out the main skills I used. :( The last time I played it, I was trying to raise up my double handed... but, you know, it's really tempting to just shoot with my over powered bow.

Finished off Dragon Age: Origins last night. Fun, but not sure how soon i'll go through it again for achievements.

Unwrapped Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, which has been sitting still for 6 months.

In fairness, I'm only just getting round to a proper play of Final Fantasy XII, which has been sat on my shelves for the best part of 5 years. Much better than Final Fantasy XIII, it has to be said. Probably an improvement on X as well. Though at the moment some real old-school grinding is needed, which really frustrates me because it breaks up the flow.

After this is finished, I'll be boshing through Arkham Asylum in a weekend.

Anyone here play grand strategy games like Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings? They are pretty good. :)
Although i like Europa Universalis 3 better, CK is way too complicated.

So you don't like FFXIII because it's an endless, linear corridor, yet you don't like grinding in FFXII because it breaks up the flow? You do see the irony there? :p Though personally, I haven't even played FFXII as I 'upgraded' from a PS2 to PS3 before it was out. And I have Fang from FFXIII sitting on my monitor. Literally. And Princess Dagger from FFIX sitting beside it. ;)

The frustration is more because the grinding takes hours, and it impinges on story progression. But XII has variation and a wide range of things to do in an open world. Whereas XIII is just a case of running from corridor to corridor, fighting palette-swapped enemies with little to no variation.

Not to mention the story of XIII was so convoluted that only hard-core fans would be bothered with it.

It has been years since I played XII, I played it when it first came out and then the second PS2 I had crashed and gave up on playstation. Though, I don't remember grinding, I do remember that I had put in a good 100 hours into the game.

Then again, I get lost so easily that I tend to accidentally grind. I have the game, I think I might give it another play through. What can I say, I'm a sucker for sky pirates. :D

That too. It was a pretty dire game all in all.

I'm only up to 27 hours. It feels like I've spent the last 10 of those mostly grinding just so I can get on with the story. It's not too bad when you can stick some other music on, or watch some Zero Punctuation or Unskippable, but 10 hours is excessive when the story progression is minimal. Though I have just upgraded all my characters' weaponry, so that may knock some grinding time off. I'm not saying I'm not enjoying it, because I am. I just think that the game's balance isn't quite right.

Wish I had a bit more time on my hands, as I enjoyed the original Crusader Kings quite a bit, and the second was a blast as well. Dragging the tiniest, most insignificant county imaginable to an eventual super-empire is always a nice sense of accomplishment. Or the thrill of worming my bloodline into huge tracts of land without so much as killing more than a few worthless wives.

A pity the AI is so soft, leading me to see it less as a game of grand strategy, and more the ultimate medieval sandbox. Which I'm quite fine with too!

I absolutely love Dragon Age: Origins! Have you played Dragon Age 2 yet? It's not as good but it's definitely worth playing.

Personally, I hated Dragon Age. Origins had far too much combat, and honestly, I think the whole setting is incredibly boring and lifeless. Add darkspawn, aka the most boring, pointless and dull enemies I've seen in a game in over a decade, and you got a problem. ;) Dragon Age 2 definitely had it's moments... until you realized 90% of the game takes place within a tiny city. So much for variation, huh.

The worst part is I've stopped paying attention to BioWare. Mass Effect was good, but since then? Meh. I don't like Dragon Age. I hated Mass Effect 2. I barely even started Mass Effect 3 before I got bored of the eeeeendless, unskippable cutscenes and unskippable dialogue. _(in ME1, you could fast forward dialogue until you had to make choices. I have yet to figure out if that's even possible in ME3 on PC.) And who didn't count the days for years until SW: The Old Republic? And what did we get? A story-driven WoW in a Star Wars setting. In other words, WoW in a SW setting with more story and less players. Space combat was a chore. Fighting on land could have been fun, but they somehow managed to ruin that too. And then... "If you have a lvl 50 character, you get a free month." Seriously. If I had a character lvl 50 (changed later to and/or reached legacy level 6), I got a free month. If I didn't meet thos criteria, I might get a free week. Except I don't know anyone who actually did.

The whole point with the free month was so we would stop whining that the warzones were still bugged, but they really blew it on that one. I mean if I had a lvl 50 char and/or reached legacy level 6, I would get a free month - even if I haven't played PvP at all since Street Fighter 2. But if I had a lvl 49.9 char and/or legacy level 5.9 and really, really wanted to test PvP, I didn't get anything. If I missed 10XP to reach level 50, I would be left out. Where's the point in that?

So all in all, I loved BioWare back in the Baldur's Gate-days, but now I won't even look twice at anything they throw at me. I hate them almost as much as I hate Valve, and I hate them only because of Steam. I'd ignore Valve completely if they didn't make such good games...

    Question:

I want to get Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, but there's something I am wondering. Does it come with the main game included? Or would I have to buy that one seperately?

By that, I mean, suppose I wanted to get this for the PS3, but didn't have the main game for the PS3. Would I have to also buy the main game as well?

It has the game and all the DLCs for it too, but I've got to say: most of the DLC for New Vegas are not really worth it.

I have been playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on my PS3 for a while now. I have only two characters, one used far more than the other, but I do love this game. I can't seem to find any quests to do, so I end up walking across the map trying to discover new places, new people and fights that I can level up to.

Also playing Final Fantasy XII. Its one of my favorite titles, most likely because it at least attempted to go back to the olden day feel of Final Fantasy, something I particularly loved. The music, the scenery and the fighting was great too, definitely what hooked me in the first place. At first I was reluctant to play because the battle system was so much different than the ones I am use to (FFI-FFX) that I thought it wouldn't be anything like Final Fantasy. In all, I am glad I was wrong! Love it to death!

I've been trying to get my Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time game to work in my old N64 system, but I'm having difficulty. I can play that game over and over again and never get bored of it. Probably played and completed it nearly 100 times since I re-bought a system. lol

There are a lot more games I want to try for the PS3 and Xbox, but so little money! :p

And this is why I love roms. You have the game then you can legally have the rom and no need to fight with old systems. It saddens me when old systems start breaking.

I miss playing on my Gamecube. =( Maybe I should drag it out of the closet one day and play on it again, for old time's sake.

    In other news:
Just got Batman: Arkham Asylum from Gamefly. Will give it a go! 8D
