I'm on the 360 sadly, the aiming is absurd sometimes I've came to realize, either that or I'm atrocious, probably a bit of both lol. I came across this screwed up colossal dude waving a minigun at me outside some abandoned outside cinema, I actually dealt with him pretty quickly with a machine gun, I suck with the pistols.

I found a vanilla World of Warcraft server a couple of months back. Usually, I wouldn't suggest such a game, but vanilla World of Warcraft is actually a lot better than I remember. It's basically WoW when it was just released: no expansions, and patches are added over time, like a progressive server.

    This is the URL: https://en.nostalrius.org/

Only down side for you is that the server is located in Paris, so your ping might be around 150-200. I pinged 16 to the server, though, which was pretty sweet.

I did a web search and actually found one that I think might be interesting as long as it doesn't have some of those "This game is free but if you want an even better experience you can pay for..."

Nah, it's not one of those pay-to-win things. It's basically just a freeshard server, and a very good one in my opinion. I didn't really encounter any bugs, server crashes, heavy lag, or loss of content. It was just a pure nostalgia trip back to 2004/2005. The server is packed as well, so it's always active with groups and stuff; however, the PvP server has like 7 to 8000 people most days and questing can become difficult since you have a dozen people killing the monsters and such. I played the PvE server which had about 1300-1600 people most days -- it felt like a perfect population.

I'm playing for free for now. It's actually been a little while since I picked it up. I played during beta, and having to go back and do the same missions kind of took its tole on me. But I'm starting back up again now.

I remembered you talking about a long time ago when it was first coming out and how you were going to quit playing WoW and start playing it instead. I was just curious if the game was that much different from the free to play, than the signature play. I see there are several differences in the game between the two.

I've been playing good old Ogre Battle 64 lately. Best game ever made! Glad they released it on the Wii virtual console! :D For those that don't know, it's an awesome, one-of-a-kind RPG and strategy game along the lines of Final Fantasy Tactics, but more realtime, that was released for Nintendo 64 a long time ago. It hasn't lost any of its awesomeness over the years!

There's always a warm place in my heart for RuneScape :)

I have heard wonderful things about Bloodborne, but I cannot bring myself to make a purchase. It takes the defensive aspect out of combat, making you rely on dodging attacks (something you can do in Dark Souls). The combat looks lacklustre to me, and the atmosphere feels uninspired. Still though, that's just my opinion and I'm a very silent minority. On the other hand, a lot of fans were disappointed with Dark Souls 2, although I'm not certain as to why.

Nah, they Blizzard aren't going to ban people for playing a freeshard. That's like the police trying to arrest everyone who downloads torrents rather than going to the source. Besides, there are loopholes when it comes to freeshard servers. Someone told me that vanilla World of Warcraft is basically free anyway, so you don't have to worry about being banned. The PvP server has been up for almost a year and there have been no problems.

@The Mad Regent I did some research and it seems there's a huge legal grey area concerning private servers. Blizzard can't really do much about them except when they start profiting off their creative property. In that case they can and will shut them down:

Blizzard won a lawsuit for $88 million against the operator of one particular private server, who was charging for services of some kind (subscription, donation, bonus stuff, w/e), thereby profiting off of copyrighted material that was not hers.

Anyway... what I actually came to this thread to mention today was...

    LEGION HYPE!! :bigeek:

DPS shamans are now playable on the alpha, and oh man, I am super pleased with how elemental looks so far. That's my main spec, okay? S'personal. S'PERSONAL, BLIZZ.

No more lightning shield, because Maelstrom = Fulmination, and our mastery is basically multistrike again. :-D Also I think Unleash is gone, and good riddance anyway because we already have G-wolf for speed increase and Unleash isn't even a DPS gain. o_O

Our artifact? It looks baller, but why are we getting a fist weapon instead of the standard mace? Is it because resto and enhancement get maces? Are there too many maces going around?

Order hall? :dead: Not comfy. We get a dank cave by the ocean, basically. Everyone else gets a secret getaway, we get an uninviting cave. I feel like I'm not going to spend much more time there than I have to once the xpac is live. (But part of that is because the outdoor content looks so amazing! :bigeek:)

...Also I recently discovered Preach's YouTube channel and oh my god that man is hilarious. x50 when Ghosty is around.

*scampers off to go be a nerd*

PM for details on the off-grid commune I'm starting. It's going to be a return to simpler times. I can probably find a good place for you in the new society if you invest early.

I'm trying Diablo III as a Withdoctor this time, and enjoying it orders of magnitude more. The wizard is garbage.

Shamelessly bragging about how good I was in raid tonight:

Perf % = performance percentile = I outperformed 75% of all elemental shamans in the entire game (whose logs are posted).

ILvl % = item level percentile = I outperformed 91% of all elemental shamans wearing the same gear as me. :bigeek:

    :-D

Still practicing on the other bosses.

I'm currently bouncing back and forth between the brown blandness that is Fallout 4, and 1800s Paris in Assassin's Creed Unity. I've always been a fan of the Fallout games so it came as a bit of a surprise having waited so long for a new gen console to play it on, that Unity has been leeching more of my time. It's a flawed game, for sure, but at least my assassin can now crouch and take cover, something I always thought was oddly missing from the experience, and I'm loving exploring Paris. One negative is that the soundtrack is a bit lame in comparison with the likes of II, Revelations, and Black Flag. Another is that there are numerous base game glitches. (I mean, really... having to change my displays ratio to 4:3 in order to properly time the QTEs—which, while I'm on the subject, bug the ass off me too.)

The game play of Fallout 4 is pretty much the same as 3, but I gotta admit to feeling a bit underwhelmed. Even though the graphics are definitely better, I still find the combat a bit wanting. (Is it just me who hates the VATS system?) Maybe it's because I've kinda seen it all before, the process of leveling up as been a bit tedious. Nah...worse than that... it's just plain boring.

NOTE TO SELF: Don't take on an Alpha Death Claw with your under powered character. Just don't.

ALSO: Don't throw a circuit-breaker until you've checked what it's attached to. (AKA Don't assume anything.)

I've been playing Xcom 2 of the current series. It's better than the original and just so fun. All my people keep on dying but I carry on.

Thinking I'll go back to the Elder Scrolls-verse. Getting kind of tired of hanging out in a nuclear wasteland in Fallout 4.

Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion... Here I come! :D
