Sooo, I've heard that Flame Wreath is coming back in Legion, and having never experienced it I decided to hit up YouTube and investigate what exactly Flame Wreath did: "I will not move when Flame Wreath is cast, or the raid blows up." I wish I had gotten into this game sooner, this stuff is priceless. I bet all the BC raiders will be singing this in Legion.

I use to spent untold hours playing all the Final Fantasy games I could get. No time to play them anymore but the memories are still there.
FF was my main squeeze before I tried out WoW. I own all the disc titles, even that god-awful X-2. *barf*
My favorite was the third one which if i remember right, was the first in America. But yeah, the more they made the less I liked. I still played em but there was never the feeling I had playing the early ones.
I have the xbox 360 'touch' edition. I don't know game systems that much so maybe it is called something else? I bought the 360 for one game, GTA5... I like the freeplay the game, not big into the actual story mode. I now have the ability to play it online but each time I have tried, I am instantly killed by other players, lol, so I rarely get online with it. Computer gaming-wise... I have Sims 4 and play it religiously. I love that game a lot and own all the expansion, game and stuff packs they put out. Simulation to me is quite fun and I like building creepy houses as well haha.. Diablo games were among my favorites as a kid. Diablo 2 was awesome. I loved Diablo so much that I purchased a special collector's edition for Diablo 3 on Amazon. Got it in the mail, tried to install but failed because I don't have a super computer that can handle it! When I was a kid, we had atari and you didn't need all the nonsense to play pong lol. So now my D3 collector's edition just sits on a shelf collecting dust...
That sounds about right. I'm not too versed in the earlier titles, but I have sampled them. My favorite one was X — Some truly unsettling creature designs, plus Sin? Anima? The whole mystical/spiritual/Lovecraftian theme of the thing? The twist at the end!? ... Dammit. Now I want to hook up my PS2, but I don't even know if it will run.
Pokémon fans, don't forget to visit your local Gamestop (or EB Games in Canada) every month to pick up a 20th Anniversary legendary! February is Mew (available till the 24th), then March is Celebi, and it goes on all year with a different legendary every month! *feels really old now that Pokémon has been around for 20 years* :/ But yay! Legendaries! *scampers off to Gamestop* ...also my PS3 does indeed work via my computer monitor (HMDI), but since my monitor doesn't have built-in speakers, there's no sound. $3 adapter cable to plug my PS3 into my PC speakers shall arrive next week from the magical Amazon.
Turning on Just Cause 3. The side activities are very pleasing and relaxing, a perfect contrast to the chaos of the main game. I also enjoy Rico's commentary when he enters an enemy camp as he says things like, "What have we here?" The wing gliders add to perfect, slapstick comedy -- at least to me. Rico, the badass extraordinaire, the man who will free Medici from the iron grips of a despot...faceplants into the side of the mountain because I can't adjust the controls well enough. I will say, however, that I like how allies notice my movements, such as when I was headed to liberate two towns of my own volition, they said, "We noticed you were headed to xyz! Target these things first!" It's the small things that make me realize that yes, Rico isn't an outsider doing random things on his own -- he's got backup keeping an eye on things. So far, I can't really find anything much to complain about. Except for maybe, of course, one thing: when you die in the middle of trying to liberate a town, you spawn nearby with all your weapons replenished. While I understand the mechanism behind it, and I do appreciate it -- I just feel like it made the game a bit too easy for me. Still a good game, though.
I had a nightmare that I went back to WoW. That's bad enough, I get them every once in awhile, but this time I convinced a friend to go back with me. But that's still not the worst part. In the dream I wanted to go back.
Im a Sony fanatic and follower who was incarcerated in 08 so I missed a hell of a lot of games. From what I hear The Last Of Us, MGS4 and the entire Assasins Creed series are must haves plus Mass Effect. I like games that have that movie feel to them, Resident Evil 4 and God Of War along with Devil May Cry, stuff like that is the direction I lean in.
I played mgs gz and for some reason fell in love with it. Most intense gaming experience I think for me, especialy during the end sequence. That song, Here's to you by Joan Baez, the scenery. Didn't even know the song until then, and I love that 70's powerful sound. The magic was probably that it was over so quick, unexpectedly. I still don't get that. Someone said it was for publicity prior to the next big release. A quickie, so to speak. Short, but very intense. Here's the (NSFW) end sequence. The credits roll at 43:34, along with the song which perfectly concludes it. All respect, honor and credits go to Hideo Kojima, Konami, Joan Baez and Ennio Morricone. And you can keep playing the same stage without it becoming boring. Enough variety, freedom and objectives.
Well, this doesn't answer that but the next game I played after that was Dead Island. The story was so bad, I had to write a fanfic alternate ending, inspired by Ground Zeroes. Why? Because it was similar and I saw the chance to kill off the people escaping the island to honor the genre, horror/ zombies. The radioguy says that the region is in military containment. They suggested by that that they will go back to safety to live a normal life, woohoo. But I thought it was supposed tp mean that noone gets off, so they shoot down the chopper. And the main charzcters were killed before that, because the villains steal the antidite, uses it on his wife, and takes the chopper, and the hacker betrays you and sides with the villain, being a criminal. So theyre all fucked. A zombie story end has to be ironic. I mean the whole genre makes fun of death, that doesn't go well with happy endings. Here is the original, which compared to Ground Zeroes obviously can do better.
Was messing around with Far Cry Primal a couple weeks back. Incredible to consider the devs created some kind of neolithic indo-european language just for the game. It's super fun. Story is so-so, but gameplay and the entire concept is great.
I never played MGS but The Division, which just came out, is addicting as hell, and the concept is pretty good. From what I understand, nothing will live up to MGS just like nothing will live up to older FF games, Chrono Trigger etc. That era is just sort of over.
FPS format allows for endless variation. All you need is a reason for one person to repeatedly shoot at and survive a seemingly endless stream of a generic, hostile enemy. It's challenging from a literary perspective. That makes it important for developers to keep it versatile because it would get boring quickly. MGS did many things to make the very combat more interesting by giving you many options such as combat style and how you use the environment, pretty advance gameplay. And the stories are usually intricate, more then other, generic FPS games. I doubt MGS would make an interesting read. At least not when it comes to the gameplay element. I've never read books that followed a game franchise so I wouldn't know. I heard the Halo series has fun novels, and for example the Metro series was developed after books, so games are a legit medium for quality writers. Then again, what isn't?
What do you mean, exactly? Do you mean story/character-wise? If so, I don't know of any that really exist, because there's really nothing else quite like a Kojima game. You could try his Persona series if you dare, but I've never played them and know little about them, so I couldn't tell you if they're very MGS-y. For game play, there's lots of stealth/shooter games that have a feel of MGS. MGS, in terms of pure gameplay, was never a series that was very unique (a lot of their unique game play came from quirks more than anything else). For a game that has both the story and gameplay of MGS, I would have to assume it doesn't exist.
