The Growing Word Game

Rules:

The idea is to add a letter to the word in the previous post to create a new word. You must add a letter that creates a new word but also does not create a deadend for the next person... ie no adding 's' to the end for an easy point.

Here is an example:

1st person 'i'
2nd person 'it'
3rd person 'bit'
4th person 'bite'


etc

So just how long a word can be created....?????
