When my husband woke up afterwards, he told the doc, "From now on, I'm calling you Bob. I'm not going to be that intimate with anyone I'm not on a first name basis with."
I removed my Wiimote's sleeve today and uncovered a battery compartment full of nasty battery liquids. It turned into a "Not Happy" moment but then I decided to take matters into my own hands, took the remote apart and cleaned it as best I could. Works great again and I managed to get away with merely two tiny stains. This is the 2nd time I rescued this Wiimote. Now I feel kind of inclined to keep it working forever. The batteries were there only for about 7 months. Not sure why this happened but I'm never trusting carbon zinc batteries ever again! I think it's time I look into NiMH batteries. For anyone wondering what it looked like:
BOO !! When my sons asked about the "procedure", I just told them a doctor was shoving a GoPro up my butt. Got the expectedd "Ewww!"
Yes! Even if the butt of my puns is a rear-admiral, I invite you all to take a seat behind the orchestra. Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week.
Oh, dear. Why, yes. I'm under contract from the Department of Cunning Punning. ;P I have a pun just for ewe, so you don't feel so sheepish.
Kitchen door is open with the glass down on the screen door. We're slow enough at work that I've been doing some small around the house stuff, keeping an eye on the queues on my work laptop. Even though my mind is zooming around, I am actually quite peaceful and it's a lovely feeling.
I am in love with Dark Souls 1! It's such a good game. I am slowly learning how to play and I'm no where near perfect, but I am learning so much. Praise the SUN!

I haven't, but it looks fun. However, I don't have a PS5 or computer that would run ER. But I am very excited about the soul games as a whole. I like it better than Skyrim and so many other games I have played.
Yeah, no comparison to the Skyrim/Bethesda engine games. About as much in common as Call of Duty. I started Baldurs Gate 3 a few days ago. Great game, but my time is otherwise prioritized. I won't pick up a controller until I've done my chores, spent time with my wife, and practiced my guitar. That shit is like kryptonite to harmonious domesticity.
Yeah, the combat is so much better than Skyrim in DS1. And I wish I could play that game as well, but again, issues with my machine. Anyway, I am not as good as you. LOL. But yeah. It is something to carefully balance. On another note, I am currently stuck at the gaping dragon- I was so close last time!! And I had summoned Solaire, and that didn't help much. Also Lautrec is dead- yeah. Total freak ledge accident...
I fell in love with those games for a few years. My introduction was Bloodborne. Incredible game. I'd never experienced anything like it. Insanely difficult, zero handholding. I guess you can google stuff to find out what to do, but it's much more fun to try and figure things out for yourself. It was very frustrating at times. One boss, the Blood-Starved Beast, killed me literally 50 times before I beat him. I'm sure I was shouting in triumph, with a dangerously elevated heart rate. After that, I played Dark Souls 2, 3, then 1. Also very frustrating, but success felt so rewarding. The last game in the series that I played was about two years ago now, the Demon's Souls remaster for PS5. I got stuck on Old King Allant. Just kicked my ass over and over with me never even coming close to defeating him. The worst part was that rushing through the path to even get to him ended in my demise more than half of the time. I don't remember how many times he killed me, or how many hours I kept trying. I just know that I put down the controller and haven't looked back. I've heard so many great things about Elden Ring. I might have to give it a go if there's a real nice sale on.
@Set2Stun @Homer Potvin i DID IT! I DEFEATED THE GAPING DRAGON!! Solaire died 1/3 into the match and then, it was running around and jump attacking. Which I did in the last try and accidentally did a LOT of damage. So, I had to look up how to do that. But ahhh!!! I did it! I must have died at least 5 times trying to get this dumb boss. I bet it was over 5. But I decided I didn't want to try and level up- I did make a +6 weapon, but aughhhh!! I did it!!!
I'm ridiculously happy about this video I just randomly found. I never knew donkeys could show so much pure joy.
Stumbled upon Moonlight Butterfly. I actually killed it first try. I was shocked. But it was very refreshing.
I know what you mean. I feel it's why I love the game. Because even though I am struggling, I feel much more accomplished when I beat a boss, than playing Skyrim. Sure, I have had times in Assassin's Creed where I have finished a difficult level, but this is a different kind of feeling. Like maybe, that I am getting better at this game and don't totally suck. As for what I did, I watched a walkthrough to see if it was even worth playing. Because I first got it, because I wanted the challenge. Rage quit at the Asylum Demon, but kept thinking about it. So, bought it again after angry returning it on steam and now made it into the Darkroot Garden. The thing though, about the walkthrough, it made it easier to understand the game and see what it was like. BUT it didn't teach me how to fight. I had to learn that. Still kinda confused though if I want to go Quality build or Dexterity. I was going to go to a dex build, but was having a difficult time breaking basic hollow's shields. I may see if the Uchigatana is good, or if not, I will go to a quality build. But, I think my combat skills have improved a bit- although I have to say that strength feels too easy? With a claymore? I am enjoying being IHOP, the house of Pancake death, but I am still unsure of what I want for this first game. Also, going easy on myself, because it's my first playthrough.
I'd like to try Dark Souls or Elden Ring, but those games are notorious for being incredibly hard, to the point that the computer is cheating. I've played Darkest Dungeon, and I'm sure the computer is cheating there. One of the first dungeons I went into, with level-1 characters ... I turn the corner and run straight into an ambush by a level-3 boss, who could also summon level-1 underlings. And I was not allowed to escape until 3 members of my party were dead. Darn it! That's cheating, that is!
Honestly you should give it a try. Dark Souls 1 is very fair and is about learning the skills needed to win. It is currently on sale on steam and the community is actually very nice. Sure there are some trolls, but on reddit, they are very encouraging. That is what sealed the deal for me. Sorry you died to a gang in darkest dungeon.
Hmm. Isn't Dark Souls very difficult? That's what I heard (and saw on YouTube, anyway). I know Darkest Dungeon is a few years old, but hey. I won more fights on DD than I lost, so ... *shrug*
I suppose Dark Souls is difficult and I do struggle with it. But I think the difficulty for me is offset by the sense of accomplishment. Also, all the enemies are playing by the same rules as you, so it's fair-ish. It's also about skill and knowing that when you press attack, you can't cancel it out.
