Hey, it's available on Amazon for pre-order. Just ordered mine for March 25. Congrats again, this is so cool !
Oh, thank y'all so much! The last twenty-four hours have included a long series of small but distressing events that were seriously getting me down. Knowing folks care enough to preorder the book goes a good way toward lifting me out of the dolrums.
It's been a rough week and I'm sure many have noticed that I've been camped in these spaces for a while. Wife is home and recovering. The rash thing she had is not contagious and will clear up in a few months time, but she's not in pain which is the most important thing. Work was nice to give me the week off and I've had time write and completed the overhaul of my 11k novella. It reads well as I've tied up all the loose ends with a reinforced theme befitting of the story. So lots of positives and I have a few more days off to claw back lost sleep and stress, so very happy.
Yay! So glad your wife is out of hospital and recovering, Hideoshi. Even better that work gave you time off to take care of family. I hope you get plenty of sleep and the chance to recover from the stress of the past week.
I couldn't find anything about the audiobook on Audible or Amazon. Any word about when that might be available for preorder? I have monthly credits burning a hole in my pocket.
Aw, I like you so much, Rzero. Thanks. Recorded Books was the buyer. All I know is the audio should be out the same time as the other formats.
Hmm. So after all those years, he finally taunted them a second time. RIP French Taunter (932-2024). Thank you for your incredibly long life of service
Went to take a picture of my niece sitting with my brother last night because they looked adorable together, and right when I hit the photo button on my phone, she turned and picked a wedgie. This morning she decided I'd slept long enough and stomped through the house to wake me up, and then she explained basketball to me while we yeeted a ball at a hoop. We also went to the store because she needed ham, and we got a giant tin of really kind of gross popcorn because it had a Christmas tree on it. She then proceeded to make the Grudge kid sound the entire way home and then giggled in my face for a while as she said my name right into my eyes. I love this kid with my whole heart and I can't wait to meet her brother next month.
Vicarious children are the best. You can love 'em, they can love you, and you don't have to deal with all the crap. I have a grandson already (I know, too young, right?), a granddaughter due to arrive in Feb, and a guidedaughter (humanist goddaughter), and I love them with all my being. I also love it when they leave and I can get on with my own life. Perfect balance.
This thread makes me happy. I have whacked two dozen spammy new members so far today, which pisses me off and can be a barrier to simply "enjoying the forum". I was going to whinge about it on the not happy thread, but nice to come here and read the good stuff, so thanks y'all
Sorry for this reply, but I think I've been in the 'first thing that comes into your head' mindset lately when I read your: Hammer of the Spam. Spam in England are those salty processed tins of cheap meats you find in the supermarket. For some reason, when you wrote this, I pictured a man-sized duck with a huge sledge hammer, smashing at all the left over meat cuttings from the butchers, in this biiiiiig white warehouse and shoveling the mashed up awfulness onto a conveyor belt which disappears into this rambling steel machine that churns out perfectly squeezed tins of Spam down the other side of the line waiting to be boxed and put on the shelf for people to delight.
Hmm, that's funny. I pictured a bunch of Vikings, wearing fur and horned helmets, smashing all the spam in the cafe with their double-headed axes and war-hammers, while singing "Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam" at the top of their voices. But you do you ...
Lol. You have got me thinking that I am quite strange... but maybe I'll do some editing and reword that as me being unique... that sounds a little better
Very happy today as I have completed another edit of another short story in my collection... no.6 of 30 is in better shape which makes it 3 in the last week. There is a lovely feeling of satisfaction with the progress and that familiarity of being in that world is clear with words from my readers steering the edits of the stories into a better telling. Still many more stories to go through and some will need a lot more work but it is a nice step forward. Happy.
Way to go, Hideoshi. I wish I thought of collating my short stories into a collection earlier. That's OK. I can do it now! Thanks for the inspiration! (And to make it even better, they've already been critiqued, and I subsequently edited them ... ruthlessly. Mwa-ha-ha, etc. Now if only I could edit my posts down. Sorry, all. I know I'm verbose. *blush* It's why I write fantasy. My motto is: We Write Loads©).
I wouldn't mind reading a story or two if you like to share? I can't guarantee quick feedback but I do promise that all my views are honest and thought out!
Finally getting the dehydrator I got myself for my birthday up and running. I bought a giant bag of cranberries for holiday sauces, and now I'm going to dehydrate the rest of them. I love dried cranberries, but most of them are heavily sugared and I'm not fond of overly sweet things.
Had my afternoon colonoscopy, and after being on clears since monday morning (!!), i was a lot like Ramsay Bolton's dogs on GoT when i got home.. grr lol
We got our Christmas tree put up over the weekend. First time we've had it downstairs instead of in the living room. Family room has carpet and a way to shield the tree from these heathens. (Marlowe, (Aussie, 18 months) and Rory, (Aussie/Heeler 10 months)). Marlowe we got as a 12 week old puppy. We adopted Rory on Halloween after we had to let our beloved Rue Dog, 14, (bottom) go in October.
Poor Rue Dog. What a handsome boy he is! And Marlowe and Rory too. I'm so sorry for your loss, SocksFox.
