If ever there was anything more beautiful written than Beethoven's violin sonatas... I'd like to know what it is.
A deadline has been pushed back a week. ;D Now it means I have 14,000 words due in about two weeks. LUCKY ME. But this is good because otherwise I'd have 4000 words (of that 14,000) due in a week. So yeah, looking at the positives.
You sound like me right now! Finishing book two, and it's a pain in the you-know-what. But the plus side is that it's a draft that's an uncorrected ARC, and not something immediately for publication, and that is the HUGE relief on my shoulders! Double-plus side, I haven't had a single complaint or neutral or negative comment on my book cover yet. This is a double ego booster for me; I wanted to go to college for graphic design, but wasn't ready to pay 40k+/year like some of my friends are for high rated schools, so I work on a low-end photo editing program and create stuff just as lovely as theirs. (-snicker-)
A magazine with one of my stories in was published today, on Kindle. And it's finally hit me that I'm actually making money out of my writing. Turns out dreams are achievable.
I'm looking at pictures of my magazine for uni, as it just got printed today. I AM SO EXCITED! It looks amazing!!
I'm stoked because my magazine looks awesome, and because I've finished all my work early. I still need to tweak and do some things, but It's freed up bags of time to work on my new WIP. It also frees up time to look for agents for my other novel, which I've already sent off to one agent. It's so nice to be able to do this stuff.
Think I got good outline for the final scene, now to flesh it out. I'm so close to finishing this draft!
Today is my birthday and I've had an absolutely wonderful day watching my brother play soccer, driving around in the sun, and eating dinner with my family. I have amazing friends and family and I'm so thankful for them, they make days like this special
UPDATE!! I have completed my Ottoman paper in the nick of time! Exactly two days before it's due! I think I have learnt a valuable lesson today.
I broke my hand less than a week and a half ago (well, a metacarpal, I think, which seems like more a part of the wrist than the hand. But they insist on calling it a broken hand). It was supposed to take 4-6 weeks to heal. Thankfully, I stubbornly took my cast off today and, other than bending it a rather specific direction, it feels pretty good. Yay, more video games and unencumbered writing for me. On the other hand (puns, lol) my right hand already feels a bit weaker after such a small period of disuse.
For the sake of playing a video games; I think you have been far to impatient and acted foolishly. Hope it all works out alright for you though. Good luck.
Got a 'B' on my Michael Collins essay for my Irish History class! 8D Oh, and I'm done with my 10-paged Ottoman paper, and will turn it in today.
Danke, Lemmy! 8D I think Collins is...an interesting figure. He and Emon de Valera. Interesting, yet confusing at the same exact time!! <is now wondering if that was grammatically correct in terms of present/past tense.>
Usually I go with 'Collins is an interesting figure' with 'in Irish literature' afterward, but 'Collins was an interesting person'.
Got a week off work and I'm going to the Lake District. With the crappy weather forecast we'll probably be spending more time in the pub than on the hills, but that's no hardship Also my little brother is moving to Brussels this weekend. I'll miss him but I'm chuffed he's got the job he really wanted, and it'll be great to visit chocolate him.
I just found a solution for a plot problem that I was having at my novel and now everything makes sense, for once. I started to write it today and I have 982 words. Which is a lot considering that I always delete everything when I make it to 400~600 words.
About a month ago I had the flu. I had a high fever, was totally out of it and could barely move or eat, and I had to write an (at least) 1000 word essay about feminism in The Color Purple. I wrote it in an hour and sent it, and I haven't even dared to read it after because I thought it was going to be horrible. Got it back. Got an A-... I am awesome.
^ I think having the flu or being sick in general can create that spark of genius some people get on drugs. I've written stuff whilst zombified from tiredness or just being "in the zone" while writing, and when I've read it the next day I've been pleasantly surprised.
