Wow! I can practically hear the snap of Deep South conservatives' sphincters slamming shut.

Outstanding news, my friend. Mojitos all around. :)

No matter how much I dread it, a few hours of cleaning my room always pays off. Now I can relax with a cold glass of iced tea. :D

Today I feel like I realised a dream goal as a storyteller. I obtained permission to use the song that inspired my story as the main theme on the soundtrack of the film version. :D

Today I'm happy because I just am. That's the best reason to be happy when I'm happy.

Just heard today that two of my cousins have got their university results back, a 2:1 and a first! I'm so proud of them. :)

I'm happy about the fact that I live high on a hill so I don't have to worry about my house getting flooded from all the rain we've had lately here in Maine.

MainerMikeBrown - I felt the same way during Sandy last year.

We're in a heat wave as some may have heard, but yay, I just hooked up my little room air conditioner and it works fine. I take it out of the window at the end of summer rather than keeping it in all year, that way I can close the window during the winter. I don't even use it every summer, house is well insulated. But today was hot and evening's not cooling the house off so I put it in the window and hooray, it turned on. You never know, something that hasn't been used in a couple years.

Oh man, those are the best! When I was a teenager we lived in a house where we only had three bedrooms but five of us so we converted the sun room into a bedroom for me. No a/c or heating was the only issue but the window a/c kept it frigid in there! I loved it! Everyone wanted to come stay in my room. LOL

Only a week and a half until I finish teaching for the Summer, go on holiday to Sardinia and have just had a small pay rise. Hat trick!

Today I'm happy because I've been thinking how reliable my vehicle, a 2007 Chevy HHR, has been since I've owned it. I purchased it two years ago, and I've never had a serious problem with it.

Putting out 2,600 words in a day is no easy thing for a lazy bum like me. That's NaNoWriMo pace. Wish I had the courage to do it everyday, though...

Wrote the first draft of a new short story this past weekend. It's about a pseudonym, among other things.

Working in the yard today. Few things are as peaceful to me as physical labour. :)
