Just tried my hand at baking powder biscuits. Didn't burn down the house and my biscuits are actually...good.
im happy because 2 hours ago i put pencil to paper to draw the main character to the novels in my signature, and he turned out as awesome as i had anticipated (for someone with limited drawing skill)
So cool, Cogito! I'm happy when I bump into friends from primary school. I'm happy because I went for a walk with my sister today. It was great weather (felt like spring!), and we had a good talk. Also got some things of my to-do list, so that's always good.
@obsidian_cicatrix i know right! ive been wanting to do it for ages, but time frame wise, i didnt have much time until now! i will share what he looks like at some point, just want to get some of the other characters done before i do. *edit* and after almost having a heart attack, and considering giving up writing, i finally found my memory key with my writing on it after a couple of hours searching through my room.
@ChaosReigns So glad you found it. I don't have anywhere near as much completed as you but I live in fear of losing what I have. I have multiple copies on multiple portable drives but, still, when I was doing the grocery shopping today, I found myself in the electronics section of the supermarket checking out the external drives for something big enough that I have some chance of finding it if I misplace it. Little'uns are handy, but a pain in the ass to find.
1. My two lovely birds have finally been moved to my new flat. Ah, how I have missed Hjalmar's ear-popping "chirps". 2. My Myo gesture control armband arrived today. To to go sci-fi!
@obsidian_cicatrix trust me, its not a great feeling when you lose your manuscripts that you are/have been working on, especially when you have spent a couple of hundred hours on them all
Just logged off and deleted from my bookmark a forum that had been depressing me for a long time. Sayonara, Historium. See you never again.
Bluetooth keyboards are the best I am happy because after almost ten months of unstable, minimum wage jobs, I found employment tutoring children with learning disabilities with a $4 per hour raise from what I am used to making. It will be rewarding in many ways
I'm happy because I'm finally getting my own apartment tomorrow Been in Japan two weeks now and my training is finally over!
I've been working a large, ongoing Social Security fraud case here in Caguas and tomorrow I head out to the property in Moca. Space. Quiet. My kitchen, neat and organized.
Just started a new poetry project and it is promising to be nifty. I've been a little lost with my faithful Fleetfoot and Jack and Aster complete.
I'm so paranoid about this that I have two flash drives—both with backups of my story and all other files I've created myself—ON MY KEYCHAIN, so when I'm out of the house, I always have a copy with me. Never know when the house will burn down, do you...
@jannert And in my case, their are 47 other households that could compromise my own. Yup, consider me suitably paranoid now... for good measure I'll start doing the same.
Got tickets to a movie I wanted to see next week. Opening night was sold out but so glad they're having an encore -- and on a less crowded day, too.
tuned into a radio to hear one of my favourite songs be played, those moments are priceless. in case your wondering the song is Elevate by The Winery Dogs and judging by everyone else's paranoia, its probably best if i carry my hard drive on me at all times. it has everything of mine on it. thankfully i have a locker at work and there is only one other key to the one i have, which can only be issued by management.
Happy that the dark winter is receding. There's already a bit of light left by the time I leave work. I'm looking forward to my walks home from now on.
I know, right? I can't believe it that it's daylight when I go to work, daylight when I leave work! I'm also happy 'cause I met a very nice lady yesterday, who turned out to be interested in becoming sparring partners (she had also been looking for someone to spar with, but it's difficult to find partners of about the same size). The only "downside" is that she's really good, so hopefully she won't get completely frustrated with me.
I'm starting to feel that way too. I used to love the dark mornings and evenings but I've a feeling I need some daylight, and preferably a bit of blue sky, although that is still in short supply. I'm happy because Saturday will be my first proper planned outing with my camera. A friend suggested going to the Centennial Celebration of a local ploughing society. Now, usually despite my love of horses, I wouldn't consider it, as I'm not a tractor enthusiast and many of the competitions wouldn't interest me, but this year they are doing something rather special... they've got a huge field ready and they are going to make an attempt at breaking a world record. If all goes according to plan I'll be able to get some snaps of 50 pairs of draft horses traditionally ploughing side by side. One horse for each year of the society's existence. The sight of all those feathered feet will make me very happy indeed.
that sounds amazing! i love planned outings with my camera, my last major one was Prague a couple of weeks ago for 4 days, it was certainly an experience
