Yeah, it's been a weird year in the desert. In LaPlata they've had more rain over the summer than they have in the past 5 years.
I was in Flagstaff. They get this kind of rain every year there. It's called the 'monsoon' season, though 'monsoon' seems like an overstatement. They also get a lot of precipitation in the winter. It's nice to go there and enjoy the snow.
^ I see. That's...an interesting tale to tell. Well, I managed to break the 10K word mark on my fantasy. Now officially at 14,500 words on my first draft. It's all total crap, but that's OK. Woo! 14,500 words!!
My daughter drives to Prescott from Flagstaff on occasion because there is an In n' Out Burger in Prescott.
I've had a fantastic three weeks. Nothing better than relaxing at the countryside, doing things because you want to, not because you have to. Waking up early to watch the deer and foxes in your backyard, picking apples and making apple pie, sneaking through the neighbors' cornfield, listening to the thunder rumbling in the valleys, watching the perseids at night, walking barefoot over the warm, dark soil, writing when it pours outside... Gonna miss all that.
I acted a bit impulsively today and purchased like, 7 adult coloring books on Amazon. That's excessive, I know, but I'm pretty stoked about it. Lol.
Today I got off work early and edited a little, then went down to the inner harbor and had dinner on the dock. Some delicious Surf and Turf with a few friends I hadn't seen in a year! Such a wicked catch up! Now, I'm listening to the hum of the fridge in my quiet house while I use my trusty old school, red pen to edit my manuscript! Lovely Day! Then, I'm going to climb in my freshly made bed (Right out of the dryer, oh yeah.....) and watch some Doctor Who. A pretty good day Ps.. did I mention I am sleeping in tomorrow? Yup, going to try my best anyway
Got a new keyboard fitted in the lappy which means the 'e' key and the space bar works. Off to the gym this morning - taking laddo (13) to join up while I sit in the cafe with coffee and laptop!
Many people suggested that 50 Shades lead the way, in grey. Then I discovered I could simply crayon a selection of cock, balls on every page in my very own adult colouring book. Issue Two - Mons Pubis. I rushed to purchase the selection of pink pens suggested by this issue two, have not been near the internet for several months. The diorama scene: 'Orgy in Venice' has been my greatest technical challenge to date.
Unfortunately, no. No donut. Our leisure center used to house a tidal pool, (with slide) learners pool, and all the usual gym/squash/tennis courts, martial arts studio, gymnastics studio etc and a lovely little cafe with plenty of seating. Until they decided to build a new pool on the seafront rather than pay out for the upkeep and new roof on the old pool. They have kept the center open for everything else, but have closed down the cafe leaving only 5 vending machines there instead as most of the cafe users, were swimmers. (There's nothing finer than coming out of the pool, getting changed in the freezing cold changing rooms and then sitting in the cafe with dripping hair, eyes stinging from the chlorine and eating leisure center chips and gravy!) So, it was vending machine coffee ... I may have to take a flask next time!
I went to the store and bought the proper PB&E gloves goggles a smile and a haircut. Lets just say I'm ready to mate
Got fifty dollars for trimming a whole bunch of bushes and a whole bunch more potato vines. In my own yard, no less.
Shot par on two holes (and bogeyed two others) for the first time in my brief golf career. As Alice Cooper (a scratch golfer himself) says, "Make three good shots and you're hooked for life."
despite the doozie i pulled on the broads (see Not Happy thread) before i went away i bought a film SLR and hope to try it out at some point after getting a battery and some film.... now... i best go nosey at the script section of the forum, see if there's any advice for a noob like me
I'm excited to say that I'll be resuming classes (online) in just 4 days time! I'll be starting with "Pyramids and Hieroglyphs" (in Mesoamerica) and "Race and Gender in American Film." I am also pleased to announce that all my OT and an unexpected raise (due to changes in the paygrade structure) kicked in on my last paycheck so I was able to pay all my bills on time, order my books, and put the first payment on a ($600) painting my friend is doing (I's so pricy because he is really talented, he'll be painting on 4 glass sheets to do a forced perspective, and had he had his relative - a "master carpenter" - build a custom frame for it.) If that wasn't good enough, my financial aid (a pell grant and two fed. loans) covered all of my expenses, and I should be expecting some kickback soon.
Happy day, my sparring partner from last spring will continue training for this season as well! I'm telling you, more women should take up boxing so it wouldn't be so bloody hard to find someone to trade punches with!
