I can understand that, absolutely. Having a mid-week break would also be good if your friends/partner worked aswell, so you'd get time alone to do what you want, write, etc... Then again, I think that's only my thinking on what I'd want to do if I was mid-week day off.
I have Wednesdays as half days, and I find it breaks up the week nicely. I could ask for a change, but it suits me well, never too long before a bit of a break.
I missed that game, but I saw the score. More so than the loss I was shocked the Giants still know how to win, lol.
Pfft... don't even get me started on the Giants. Every time I watch Eli Manning "play" football I wonder how the hell we ever loss two Super Bowls to that pith-headed goober. He only has one skill on the football field... beating the Patriots in Super Bowls. And that look on his face... like he's surprised he screwed up again when he's led the known universe in turnovers since he entered the league. He wore it all game last night. Excuse me while I bash my head into the wood stove.
You mean this famous look? I sometimes wonder if he knows where he is or even, who he is or perhaps what football is lol. On that note....why is there no football thread?
When the stakes are real, and only one can leave, that will be the moment I will respect sports. Until then it just has no thrill. Really need to step up the meaning of competition a few notches.
I have my crockpot cooking beans, chunks of country pork ribs, and herbs. In about an hour I'll add potatoes and chopped bacon. Give that three hours, serve it light on broth, and top it with shredded cheddar in the bowl. It's not as good as Mom used to make, but hot damn it's still good eats.
Mine's got a couple chicken breasts and some onions in it right now, going to be pulled/shredded chicken in a few hours for a salad and sandwiches later on in the week. I love slow cookers!
TMW you've been up since 1 in the morning and feel like a quasi-zombie. Hmm...zombie whale.... TMW you wonder what a zombie orca whale would eat.
A little esoteric, but the new Principled BSDF Shader in the latest release of Blender has got me pretty happy ATM.
Writing a story for the first time in almost a year. We'll see how it turns out, but I'm really enjoying it so far
I'm happily surfing the internet this morning, not a care in the world. Why? Because the frustrating trouble we had over the past week or so—our telephone unusable due to loud hissing on the line and our inability to stay connected to the internet for more than a few minutes at a time—turned out to be the work of ...squirrels. Yep. The little blighters (or single blighter) had chewed through the plastic casing AND the wrapping on the copper wire connecting our phone/broadband line to the roof of our house. Easy fix, and it cost us nothing. Well, excluding the £30 we spent hiring a freelance engineer to come out earlier in the week to confirm that the fault wasn't inside our home. Whether the squirrel(s) enjoyed/survived the fruits of its/their labour we'll never know. I'm happy.
From 3pm to 3am local, the city I live in is going to be under red (highest warning category) conditions for all four categories of storm danger: Inundation, ground-loosening, flood, and high winds. This could be fun!
