Are Amish allowed to wear jeans? I mean they have zips on, right?

I mean, they can't have buckles can the? So a zip is probably right out. Honestly I don't even know if they would be allowed to wear denim at all.

I meant like 1800s to early 1900s teachers

I'm wearing an expensive brand name blouse only to discover literally upon reflection that it's the same style of blouse as old school teachers.

I mean, if the dress weren't navy blue to my calves, I probably could've gotten away with it. . .

What?! You dared show ankle?! Looks like we'll have to introduce you to the Board of Education.

Interesting fact: In the 1800's the Board of Education was a timber plank you'd get beaten with until you learned yourself better. True Story.

It's also a weapon in Fallout 3 (I believe) which was a plank of wood. (IT may have had a nail in it)

Everything stood out so vividly today, the colors, textures and sounds. I could look people in the eyes and smile endlessly. I think it’s going to be okay.

I tried. I had my debit card out and everything, but the barista said somebody else beat me to it.

I'm trying, Iain. Don't rush me. I'm fragile.

After this evening, I will have gone one week without any alcohol at all, and some visits to the gym.
This may not be a big deal to a-lot of people, but if you've seen my previous post last week in the 'Not Happy' thread, you'll see why I'm very proud of this.

Also, last night I finished Book of Dust one by Phillip Pullman, and absolutely loved the book, so that got me feeling all good too.

I'm happy to report that I have a 1.5 L bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon in front of me, most of which is undrunk.

First day of work after 2 months of unemployment. Only part time, and seasonal, and I'll probably be out of work again by New Year's, but whatever. Some extra money for the holidays :)

    Congratulations!

Seasonal work kind of sucks - since you want it to last - but it's so good being getting out!

I just found out I'll be getting an extra $15 a month starting in January. An extra $180 a year will pay quite a few of my bills.
