lol, that's what I'm afraid of. But hey, what's indentured servitude in the path towards enlightenment? Some may argue it's a requirement.
Re: student loans, I'm very nearly done with mine. Some $600 left. Only took me, oh, 7 years. Not even slightly worth it, in my case.
One last, hung over, day before life starts up again! I have some companies to visit tomorrow for some desperate "please hire me, I've got kittens to feed". <--- this part belongs in another part of this forum. Anyway. Today - an entire day of playing Fallout and writing. Being hung over doesn't make me happy per se, but a sightly numb head really fits the agenda of today.
I have written 2,000 words for a novel that I really wasn't inspired to write, however after moving the start of the novel forward over 30,000 words, I actually like the start and what I've written, and I'm excited to see where it goes.
Um... Is all this really happening? Sometimes life is really good... Details to come at a later date... Maybe...
I found my fountain pen! Also, as I was unpacking, I found a bunch of my leather bound notebooks. I love having them though I don't want to use them (unless I have an extra of the same one). They're just so nice to have.
I like it, over all. But could the title be brighter so it comes forward more? On my computer it kind of blended in with the background. At thumbnail size it's liable to disappear altogether. But congratulations on getting to this point!
I suppose I should find a texture a tad more vibrant than rusted metal, but smooth enough to not be as busy as the background diamond plate.
After nearly four weeks of disrupted kitchen plumbing (involving piles of dirty dishes, limited food prep space, and empty cat food cans accumulating because I couldn't open the door to the recycling bin), I've got my new sink valves, drain basket, sink faucet, and garbage disposal installed. The new dishwasher is pushed into its space, and if I work hard I might actually get it hooked up the rest of the way before the weekend is over. Paid a plumber $15 to get the old faucet and sprayer loose. Otherwise it's been up to me, and to a friend or two who have helped me remove other things too tight for me to budge. Thus the slowness. So far I haven't shocked myself and at this point, nothing leaks. Yay!
spacing looks a bit off - i'd have a bit more at the top and a bit between the text and the top sword hilt
I could remove the initials and just move Resolution down to the bottom, and adjust Renegade in the free space.
I'd keep the author name and make the symbol a bit smaller - also the proportions feel a bit off for an ebook cover which i'd expect to be 2250 pixels tall by 1410 wide (or those proportions) With proportions locked and height adjusted to 2250 yours is 1739 wide
I scale the cover image at 2550x3300 pixels which is the same size as a document page or standard piece of paper.
Check out CreateSpace's chart of typical trim sizes for print. If you're just going ebook. make sure it looks good in a thumbnail. For my print book, I'm going with 6.14" x 9.21", since that'll keep the page count reasonable with plenty of room for airy margins. But maybe I'm being naughty in contributing to all this off-topicality. Oh, well.
Switched jobs, actually slept pretty well for this week, and got a good chunk of writing done on both of my WIPs. To finish it off got my baby all polished up nice and pretty.
(Put this here because I can't find a 'learned a new word' thread, and I didn't want to start one in case I'm the only one who doesn't already know all the words.) Learned a new word today: "littoral", meaning of, relating to, or situated on the shore of the sea or a lake, from an article about the US Navy's newest warship, the USS Omaha.
