I picked it up for weirdly cheap and not only is it freaking huge and made of pretty much solid maple, but it was supposedly a prop in the show Reign. I was originally pretty dubious of this claim, not least of my concerns was that I'd never heard of the show, but this screen shot seems to verify what they said.

    Neat!

It looks identical, I would say you have the genuine article, quite a find.

The day I tried to live by Soundgarden makes me imagine the opening to my WIP as a movie, though it is different then what is actually the beginning of the first chapter. You can do some things with movies that you can’t do with books, though, so I approve.
Anyways, it’s so cool when a song does that to you, just makes you imagine things like that. It makes me happy when that happens.

    Glitterrain love that name.
Now I'll have to listen to that song again, it's been so long. Perhaps it's a boon that I can listen to it again, for the first time. I would enjoy reading your WIP someday or in published form. I might have to agree to disagree about being some things in movies that you can't do in books. I assure you I have an ILM sized imagination. *licks my fangs* I can imagine a great many things right now, they can't do in movies. I forgot to add, those things would make me very happy.

I get to watch an actual brain dissection tomorrow! Which...in contrast...doesn't sound all that great when one considers how that brain got to the lab....but its going to be interesting nonetheless! I'm wondering if it'll be a control brain or a damaged one, nearly impossible to tell with just the naked eye. Shame I'm not qualified to study the samples. At best I'll be allowed to carry the container or something minor (for now, but one day...).

The process of obtaining a brain is difficult, from what I've both read and observed. Nothing like calling a mourning family an asking "Hey, we know you're really sad an all but could you possibly donate your loved ones brain for research?" Rejection is the standard.

Glitter just listened to Soundgarden. Gah so good! Thanks for bringing back happy memories. I'm going to try and play the beginning section on my electric tomorrow. Love that sound...

Moon that song melts my brain in the best way so I probably wouldn't be any good for dissection.

This is an age-old problem. That's why up-to-date professors simply ask for students to volunteer their brains. This works - it worked for me, anyway. They took pretty good care of my brain, too - don't worry about that. They even made an effort to cram it all back into my skull when they were done. I think they got the lobes on the right sides, anyway. Bonus side effect: it makes you the greatest writer in the world! Negative side effect: it makes you so lazy that you never finish any writing project. Still, you get to go through life knowing you're the BEST, even if you can't prove that to anyone else!

    :p :D

(Actually, I'm pretty sure what I wrote above isn't really true. It's hard to know what actually happened when your brain has been dissected.) o_O

I counted the words on one or two full pages, then multiplied that by the total number of pages I had. It gave a creepily accurate word count (I have transferred most of my draft to Scrivener as a backup, my pencil was beginning to fade). :geek:

Ah, I use pen when I write by hand so I tend to have a lot of crossed out parts, even entire an entire page. :) . I could still do a rough word count. I don't have scrivener at this moment.

I might as well write in pen, because I never use an eraser. While I haven't crossed out entire pages yet, I do have some sections that are more notes and scribbles than story. :)

Writing in pen prevents me from erasing what I wrote, that way I have a way to see my previous thoughts and errors. Funny enough, as I kid I hated using pens because I couldn't erase. I have a separate physical journal for notes, thoughts, brain storms, sketches, etc. Even have the summary of CT and My brainstorm. :p . Also Character profiles and my ideas for said characters. I have a mercenary who's bio extends two stories. and keeps developing as I write my current WIP>

I love when my handwritten stuff looks like that. The pages look like works of art - I want to frame them! Pro tip - use several colors of ink: one for text, one for notes, one for corrections, etc. When you're done, you feel like a real artist. :)

Okay so using the law of averages and a small three page sample per note book, minus any blank or completely crossed out pages... I estimated that:

Note book 1: 11,440 WC (the first notebook is college ruled, so it'll have a slightly higher count that then the others, which are wide rule)
    Note book 2: 10,304 WC

Total WC of the two first note books (This doesn't count the third notebook since i'm about 3/4 through it, and roughly near the end as well), Rough Shot estimation is:

21,744 WC between the first two notebooks.

I'm happy that, as a man, I only have to wear some slacks or jeans, sneakers or shoes, a nice shirt but no spanx or heels. I can only imagine the horror of wearing such things. o_O

*does double-take* but your picture is so pretty. I know what you mean, I like the casuals. I can't wear 6 inch high heels that would kill me.

My experience in the cadaver lab: Bodies, limbs, dissected organs ... no big deal. But the heads sliced vertically down the middle, those are creepy.

It's only the eighth (or seventh, depending on your time zone) and you're already handing out the awards?

Do you think that somebody can pull something creepier at random before then?
Fine I will retract the award until closer to the end of the month. :meh:
