I found a review of the anthology my short story was in and the reviewer gave Kneadful Things the 2nd highest rating. Her favorite was also my favorite, LOL. They had some lovely things to say about the story too, which makes me very happy!
Had a really nice Mother's Day with my son and his fiancé. Hope you all had a wonderful day as well. And I took out my broken kitchen faucet and installed a new one. I only needed help with one plastic nut on the sprayer because it required someone hold the top while tightening it from the bottom and there was only one of me at the time. My son helped with that last little bit. The kitchen was a disaster because it wasn't put back together yet, but we had a really nice picnic lunch in the backyard. I have a wonderful backyard that backs to a hundred acre wood. That's what I call the park behind my house. Happy Mother's Day!
I just christened my parents' new toilet (solely because they were out and I happened to still be in the house when the plumbers finished up)! My dad is going to be pissed!
[counts on paws] Sex, possible poop... Still have booze and drugs to go on the ol' Forum today...Did I forget one?
[Checks items off list] Yep, our work is done here today kids. You and me both. I might make myself a damn sidecar. No weed here sadly.
Beginning my revision, going to be a lot harder then I thought. . Despite having the rough right in front of me.... But it does reaffirm why I write by Pen and paper first... that way I don't have to care that much about syntax, grammar, details, etc. and all those other important things you'd want in a final draft.
Approx. 62,400 words over a four month period. It comes from years of writing by hand. It's the best way to get it done, considering I have spent this whole morning writing and i'm only 413 words in, and I know what I want to write... it's just writing it properly now.
Oof, I could never do it. I have to nail the syntax, punctuation, and move the words around at the paragraph level before I can move forward. Great if it works for you, though!
Do you write fast? I can't write an article or fiction longhand because I can't handwrite quickly enough.
Yeah, I realize it's not for everyone. . as for the rest, it's exactly why I write by hand or i'd still be working on my rough draft. . Now i'm suffering from making sure everything is correct with my revision, which i'm typing in word. I don't think so, 62,400w/4m, but then again I write in sessions, usually before work or for several hours on my day offs. It just depends on if I know what i'm going to write... but it usually takes me time to brain storm or come up with what I want to write. had to do two brain storm sessions with CT near the end of by rough draft. I also have other things I work on such as my progress journal, and other Journals I write in. (I do a lot of writting, )
Hey, if it works for you, kudos! There have been times when I'm away from wifi or electricity is out or I don't have a device with me that I need to work on something, but my thoughts come flooding in too fast to capture them with my handwriting. Especially dialogue. I couldn't do it. When I'm working on long passages of dialogue (they get cut down considerably), my fingers can't even keep up when I type. A non-fiction article, I can do occasionally if I must. ETA: But I spend a lot of time trying to decipher fast handwriting. It's not good or legible when I go too fast.
I understand that, I often start stumbling over my own words or skipping words. if it's details I'll already know, I just keep them out since it's just a rough draft at the moment. Plus my WIP's progress Journal helps for external note taking and thoughts, where i can summaries scenes or thoughts.
I should be in bed, but I'm still wired from my little "causing someone else a run-in with the law" episode, and Highlander is on TV. The European version. No, that doesn't mean it's dirty, it just means that it has the brief scene where "It's a kind of magic" gets explained, that was redacted from the American version. I've been wanting to see those twenty seconds of additional footage since the early 90s....
Its my friends birthday today. Lives in Denmark, so I couldn't be there to wish her a happy bday, but I got to tell her via text. She's come a long way, dealing with dyslexia, severe anxiety (so severe she had to leave University) and the average growing pains of a 21 year old. Now she's going out more often, joined a choir, made some new friends and is getting ready to go back to school. When my inner circle is happy, I'm even happier than normal!
Moon, i'm especially happy for her and for you. I'm collecting happy thoughts for tomorrow, with my whicker basket that granny gave me and this red cloak. She told me to stay on the path *smiles slightly showing her fangs* I already broke that promise i do love the dark. I need happy thoughts, please place them there in the basket. My brother and i are having tea and crumpets tomorrow.
