I am on the West Coast of North America. Just south of Vancouver, in Washington State. It is only 2:35 pm here. It won't be the New Year for me for quite a while yet. Go ahead and celebrate, peoples of the East! I will celebrate when you're all asleep.
I use to be on the left coast myself. You are actually just south of where my mother was born (Bellingham). I'm now in the sticks in VA with the grandkids. Happy New Year to ya.
I've just realised we have less than an hour of 2018 left. The guy across the road started setting off his fireworks hours ago.
Oh yeah, isn't it illegal in America? There are rules here, but it's kind of OK on New Year's Eve. Also I've never actually seen a policeman in person except when they came into school to give talks.
Depends on where you are. California, most of what you think of as fireworks are illegal for private citizens all the time. You can have sparklers and other fairly innocuous ones. No bottle rockets, etc. In the midwest, it varies. A lot of cities have laws against it. In the country you can shoot off fireworks any time you want in a lot of states.
I've already woken up at 10:30 on New Years Day 2019 and you're still waiting? 2019 doesn't look any better, stay where you're at.
"Up at 4 in da monin, Sippin' tea n' knittin, Sleepin on the couch with the kitten, Bakin cookies for the chillens in my hood, Damn, Granny-G be liven it good."
Tempted to add this into one of my stories now. But on topic, I just saw a family of Mute Swans (Cygnus Olor) fly over the housing estate/apartment complex. Never seen that before.
Happy New Year everyone! Here’s to new beginnings, happier ending, and the adventure in between. Cheers friends.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Happy New Year, one and all! Now go write! Or at least think about writing... In the meantime, maybe I'll just go back to sleep.
