I may be getting a free digital camera from another woman next week at my Monday night group! I'll have to give something back, as I can't just accept it from her.
It's a good day. It's my birthday and my wife is finally getting her jaw fixed. We were in a car accident 5 months ago, she has had a dislocated jaw since then. She said my birthday present is her having her jaw wired shut for two weeks. All joking aside, I am happy she is finally able to get this done.
I finished a pack of cream cheese. Finished. Used all of it, not "opened it after how long to find it had gone technicolor and furry and threw it away." Never happened before, will probably never happen again...
It`s the first of February. My favorite month, not just for the slightly narcissistic reason that it`s my birth month. It`s quite a fun month. Ground hogs day to kick it off, don`t know if that`s as big a deal outside of the keystone state though. I know other states have there own groundhogs (New York dropped there`s on his head and killed him once) but IDK if they go as all out as we do. Even a ways away from Punxtony, I have a groundhog necklace hanging on my desk from such a event. Like some Mardi Gras thing. Then there`s the Super Bowl this year, and V day which then leads to great chocolate sales. They start selling shamrock shakes soon. It also means spring is just around the bend....I love it. Edit: Almost forgot, Dunkin Donuts has special donuts for V days and all like a brownie batter one which are great and all but I`m more into the 2 dollar boxes of munchkins they will be selling all month.
Groundhog Day? NOT A BIG DEAL?!? Surely you jest! I'm awash in anticipation... https://www.southbrucepeninsula.com/en/wiartonwillie/2019-festival-events-listing.asp (It's always kind of surreal to see fireworks in the MORNING, instead of at night, but I like it.)
It's kind of weird how quickly February started. Went into the supermarket yesterday, 31st January*, to buy something, walked down the aisle nearest the door - nothing. Some tins of own-brand biscuits, little things like that. Went in to buy something else today, 1st February*, walked down the same aisle - explosion of red, pink, chocolates, roses, and heart-shaped balloons. Although I know what day I'm looking forward to. 14th February may be Valentine's Day, but the 15th is International Cheap Chocolate Day! *Yes, for other British members, I did post this at twenty to three in the morning so it's technically the 2nd, but IMO, "tomorrow" doesn't start until you wake up in the morning.
I'm happy in a cathartic way after stressing over two things last week - my car that broke down and the upcoming appointment at an eye specialist - because both things turned out better than expected. The car got fixed in a day and didn't even cost that much and the eye specialist found nothing wrong with my eyes, it had been a false alarm. I was also lucky that my employer covered the specialist's costs, so I didn't have to worry about the money either.
In 1 day and 13 hours, I will have known My Amazing Man for 8 months. In 11 days and 13 hours, I will be arriving in Phoenix to meet The Best Guy In The World. Technically, for me, I will arrive at 1.35 am on Valentines Day, but for him it will be 6.35pm on the 13th. So, in theory, I will be travelling back in time to be with him for Valentines Day.
