Every week the local cinema chain puts on an early matinee of a classic movie for half the usual ticket price.

I'm old, last week was The Shawshank Redemption. I saw that opening night, dammit!

But this week it's Lawrence of Arabia.

    Oh hell yeah!

We're getting recycling facilities on site in february! :cheerleader:
And it only took x number of years to get recycling of paper, cardboard, tetra paks and plastic out here. Plus composting.
We're not even rural. We're 10 minutes from a large town centre. o_O

I’ve made my first game mod. It’s not perfect and it took me long enough, but I made it all by myself though I knew near to nothing about Python when I started, and it works fine. And the reward: New stories are coming to my mind. I think soon I’ll have a third WIP.

Cool! I delved into modding for a while, made my own mini-mods for various games, but mostly for Rome II Total War. What game have you been modding, if you want to say?

The Sims 4. It’s the first game in which I started to play with mods.

"I don`t care what you`ve stolen just don`t steal from me or I`ll dunk you in the deep fryer."

Housekeeping has a pretty extreme turn around as well. People don`t realize the amount of pressure and stress they put on you ....not to mentoin...that at least one of our managers and a separate one of our trainers being extremely degrading towards people.... or the fact...that its actual work. Everybody wants to go "Oh that must be an easy job" without realizing it`s still on your feet all day labor, and it is a labor job believe me. It can ruin your body, the aforementioned degrading manager has been there 20 years and her bodys to fucked up to do it. So she`s management now. A lot people come in...get a little taste...then poof..gone.

No real one-day drunk wonder stories though. Was one person though you worked there for like three days came in to call off for being "sick" while reeking of booze and then got pissed off when they called to inform her she need not return to work. She was a temp so it was done through the agency. She kept calling the hotel for weeks pissed as hell. Had a few people tossed real quick for not changing the beds in their rooms..which...why...

Had someone recently who had been stealing tips from everyone for weeks and everyone knew it. Going into rooms that weren`t hers, taking money off people carts, and etc. Complained about it nothing. She stole from a guest though, and oh boy her ass was out like whiplash.

but my happiness is finally having written...well something... I made my first ever Medium post a couple of days ago. Proud of myself, for taking the step even if putting myself out there did kine have me freaking out after I hit publish. No real interaction with it yet but that`s fine, wasn`t expecting it. It`s still a good step and hey...I like it...so.

I finally know what happens in a central scene of my second WIP. Too many people were supposed to have their big moment, which resulted in an endless ‘I’ll protect you and sacrifice myself. - No, I’ll protect you and sacrifice myself.’ That was not only confusing, a side effect was that my bad guys lost their credibility (imagine them standing by, waiting for the discussion to end :D).

Now I have at least a vague idea, about who did what when and why :).

My professor is gearing my independent study course in poetry towards science fiction poetry, instead of the normal route because he knows I've taken an interest in that specific sub-genre. This is a very exciting opportunity to get a professional view on a genre that's rarely even touched upon in a formal school setting. I'm extremely excited to get started on these projects.

my mother used to work for this big private medical practice. they needed a new phlebotomist and hired a woman with the "perfect" resume, only to find out she really didnt know how to "do" anything. upon further digging, they found out that all of the hospitals and practices she had worked at... she had only worked there as a janitor. Yeah, she had been there while the procedures were being done, and she could tell you how to do it, but never actually participated in the procedures. Took them a week to figure it all out (i dont think she ever touched a patient, though. i think she was still in her training/evaluation stage before the uncovered the truth)
    I thought it was hilarious!

I had the last written test I was suposed to do for my studies today and...well I passed  (it was a PC-based test so you got your results right away). Another step closer to my Bachelor degree (I still have to do an internship with documentation and of course my Bachelor‘s thesis). I guess the end-of-term-exam-time is quite global, so good luck to everyone who still has yet to do one!

    I love Facebook!
I couldnt figure out if the nuns in a certain order were active in serving a certain population during a plague outbreak in the 1800s.... so I found their archive page on Facebook, messaged them my question, and within 15 minutes they responded.

After a long last I found a song that I've been searching for for more than the half of my life. Didn't know the singer, or the title or the lyrics, (I had half of the song recorded on a cassette that I've lost a long time ago) but I clearly remembered the melody, so today I tried humming it at midomi with no luck. My singing voice is not one of my strongest points but then I thought, "Wait a sec here. What have I been playing guitar for? Imma solo the voice melody and see what comes" and it worked! I can't believe that it was so simple! This whole time! Aaaa! :D
