I trimmed my nails today and for the first time since January my left thumbnail clipping came off in a single layer. Split the damn thing right before I went home, spent February, March, and most of April with a coat of clear gloss on it hoping it would grow out past the split but every time it got close I'd forget and open a can of soda or something and move the split back a bit. Finally fixed! And taking supplements that are supposed to help, but I'm more than a little bit concerned that those will make my toenails into tool suitable for engraving battleship steel.
Awww...just fire up the cast-iron frypan and go for it. Call it an 'old fashioned burger' - the kind made before the invention of charcoal briquettes. I plan to make one for myself tonight. I get the yen for burgers every now and again. You can take the Yank out of the country, BUT....
I second the frying pan style. Then reach across the pan to your pestle, mortar and finely crush @Iain's toenails into a fine powder which can be garnished across the surface of the meat. Delicious.
I know it's only the first layer of a painting. I have a lot of work to do, but I typed the words THE END for the first time today! (Not counting shorts) I finished a mother effing first draft, y'all!
Congrats my man! I will say the same, one day. --- My professor gave me the first 100% that he's ever given on the second essay assignment. Critics be damned, apparently.
I love watching my library grow. It may be vain to buy physical books with today's technology, but paper can't be substituted by a glass screen.
I'm right there with you. As much as I read articles and such online, I will always buy physical books and don't ever see myself buying a Kindle. I still don't even have a smartphone. There are only a few things I'm materialistic about and one of them is my library! It's 500+ books at this point and HOLY SHIT was that a pain in the ass to move a few weeks ago. However, I will not stop. I cannot stop! Having such a library allows me to trade and lend books to friends which is great fun.
I find myself really enjoying listening to books on audible. After staring at a screen much of the day, it's nice to lie back and simply listen. And in a way I get more out of the books -- when I read I tend to gloss over some words, but I don't have the chance to do that when I'm listening.
Scrooge McDuck had his coins, I have my books. ------------ I have music playing rather loudly and my blog recipe test is in the oven. I'm sitting in my living room and this is the happiest I've been in years. Aside from the moments with my niece, of course, the little tyrant. I wish good things for all of you.
I agree completely with having physical objects over digital. I like to connect with actual things, not screens. Neither me nor CT have a smartphone.
I'd go back to a non-smartphone if I could maintain contact with all of my family, but I use Facebook messenger to talk to my sister as her phone service is kind of spotty a lot. -- Got my blogs all done and posted on. It's been about a month since I've posted on them, which is okay, just need to work back up to the every two weeks goal I had before.
Oh, I did have one. Once. I deliberately destroyed it within a fortnight. I have no patience with smart arse technology. It's one reason why I'm not an IT technician.
