I have a consultation with a plastic surgeon next week. I’m getting my tits cut off. (FTM) \o/ I am delighted. Literally cannot wait for the consultation. I want to tell literally everyone, but I’m biting my tongue at work, because they do not know I am trans.
New doctor tells me I'm in perfect health and have the organs on an 18 year old. Pretty sure he's reading the wrong file. Soon to be 43, lifetime smoker, former heavy drinker (now average), high stress job, constantly over functions, burns candle at 6 ends.... Mrs. Potvin (a nurse) read through my bloodwork and was like, "This is you? Are you sure?" I be like, "Positive thinking and good vibes, baby!" (Must have been a mistake... I'm fairly sure I have 6 months to live)
To counteract my Not Happy post: I got 2 very nice emails today. 1) a guest was frustrated a few days ago that the books she wanted we couldnt order (i think they were all kindle books). I told her i'd keep an eye out for books she might like, and i placed a few on hold for her as i came across them. She emailed my job and said that she was so pleased with the selection and thrilled about the new series i'd turned her on to and appreciative that i kept her in mind. 2) a local, self published author reached out to thank me for promoting her book. She told me about her own struggles with self publishing and that she was touched that i supported her in this way (i dont personally know this author. A book club wanted something specific. I did research and found her book and it fit what they were looking for. I ended up buying 8 copies for my library... I didnt know of her struggles, so it was cool that i positively impacted someones life by doing what i always do)
I've been a temp at my current job since January but was just offered a permanent position with paid time off, benefits, and all those other bells and whistles. Yay!
Ran my best 5k today at 31mins! Not bad for someone who'd been trained as a 200meter sprinter all her life! Im trying to see if i can do it in under 30mins. Thats my next goal
That was on Thursday! Today, Monday, after doing this for four days, I can officially confirm that this method works! The grass I poured it on turned yellow and easy to pull up, and the taller stuff I poured it on, the leaves turned black and eventually dried out!! Have to use gloves to handle it because of thorns, but yeah. No weed killer? Boiling water works just as well! Concluded!
Got the front ... Garden? I don't know that it's a garden... It's where two stumps are and they had some overgrown friends happening. But I got it cleared out so it now looks somewhat nicer, and eventually I'll get that mess taken out completely and turn it into a patio.
Hold on... @Homer Potvin is an Italian restaurateur in Rhode Island, this could very well be a mob doctor. Maybe he really DOES have the organs of an 18 year old. One who disappeared...
Whenever he posts recipes or cooking instructions I hear Clemenza’s voice reading them in my head. “Hey, come over here, kid, learn something. You never know, you may have to cook for 20 guys someday. See, you start with a little bit of oil, then you fry some garlic, then you throw in your tomatoes, tomato paste...” lol
It's been a good day (if we're not counting the 4am-8am sleep schedule I seem to bee on). So nice to have a day of getting things done, and everything coming up Milhouse.
I'm excited because June marked the completion of the first 5 book projects in my new editing/coaching business (one of which is my dad's). That's 5 short, nonfiction books I've overseen from start to finish, from idea to launch-ready. I have another author wrapping up and launching this month, and the advance reader reviews are amazing! I've got one more author launching in September, whose book is in developmental edits now, and it's already so good. I just feel super blessed to be making this dream happen. I remember joining on here years ago as a novice writer with a little skill and a lot of learning to do. How things have changed. Anyway, I hope this isn't too promotion-y. I definitely not looking to market here. Just wanted to share my excitement... and these awesome covers
I just finished my first week at a new job, and I'm loving it. Cool people, relaxed atmosphere, and the boss brings his mutt to work with him. I think I may finally find that fabled work/life balance everyone talks about.
Survived my son's seventh birthday party today. My anxiety meds were certainly earning their keep, but it was a good time. We ended up with no less than seven Lego sets. Almost everyone had the same idea apparently. Good thing we love Legos!
Actually in a way yes! You can get one of those baking sheets for cookies, add some water, and place it on a puppy pee mat and they go in that!
