Yay to all of you guys for blissful feelings and loving your gf and watching good movies! My paycheck from my editor came today. And then I shared a bowl of ice cream with my cat. And then I wrote a couple thousand words. Wheee.
Wrote 10,000 words today. My hand hurts. But coming in at a beautiful 100,500 words is my completed second draft. SO HAPPY! Going to relax tomorrow with my wonderful boyfriend, my little brother is flying up on Wednesday to see me for his tenth birthday (providing the evil ash cloud doesn't decide to descend upon Christchurch again to cancel his flight) and yeah, did I mention that I finished my second draft?! Yay!
It's a paranormal thriller set in an afterlife that has evolved parallel to our own world. I still have heaps of work to do in editing, though! But I think what I've got now (plot/character-wise) is the story I want to end up with. And I'm pretty pleased with that.
Haha, awesome. In related happy cat news, my cat, who was grievously wounded in a fight and had to wear one of those lampshade-looking things around his neck for weeks, finally got to go outside again yesterday! =D I'm betting it'll only take a day or two now until he's injured even worse in another fight, heh.
plus rep, let's give her some applause, 10K in one day deserves a medal or something. Suadade, my heart is warmed about your cat. Your cat is a survivor! Now I wish I could pet him... (and I do mean the cat)
When one door closes, another one opens up, right? I'm proud of myself for bravely seeking a crowbar and prying that damn door open! Things can get better if you actively seek out the opportunities...
I'm proud of you, Merc. You're freaking' brilliant and awesome, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Go Merc!! Wheeee! What did you do though? I now have defined stomach muscles as a result of lots of working out...I'm really proud of it.
Woo, made the shortlist for a pretty amazing internship. Just gotta get through a 45 minute panel interview now...
That sounds like a big deal!!! Whoooohoo! Suadade, thanks! CC, that's so awesome....do you know what kind? And what you'll name it?
Lovely! Good luck! Cambridge - certainly used to - line up a large number of interviewers to better intimidate the prospective undergraduate interviewees. One resourceful fellow - it is said - on entering the room, dragged his chair back a good number of feet 'in order to address and attend to you all at the same time.' He was accepted at once, with no further words spoken. A little tip there!
I had the most amazing week and weekend with my boyfriend. Can't stop thinking how lucky I am to be with him; I take pride in the fact that I'm probably the only one who knows how truly wonderful he is.
I'm a bit nervous for tomorrow, but my aunt works there and I get to shadow her til I learn the ropes, which is nice.
That's way awesome! Should make things easier, I would think? Congrats! You're going to let us know how it goes tomorrow, right?
