Yeah, I know what you mean. To be fair, with me and Joel it wasn't a legit proposal... Sounds like a good night! Glad to hear it. Woohoo! I told you you would do well! I'm glad the bird is ok. And congrats on your exams! Man, a bunch of smarties we've got here on the forums...
I have the best boss in the world. Part of our uniform at work is to wear a tie, and I was running late and didn't have time to tie it, and he helped me tie it, showed me how and was super gracious and nice.
It's like the end of one of those deep half-surrealist east european movies. The girl enters the room screaming "colllleeeeeeeggggeee!". The camera points at the bird that she took care since the beginning of the movie. The the bird flies away. Fade to black. That one also inspires me a movie, but I won't be describing it.
Woo, I'm working on my uni's magazine next year. I applied to be part of the team and apparently I was successful. I can't remember what position I applied for though, but ah well.
So, I made it through the interview process for that internship, now they want an "informal chat" on Monday, and they called my references today, so I'm hoping that means something good (although trying not to get my hopes up too much...).
I was in two local papers today The Maidenhead Advertiser printed a letter I sent in, basically setting out my stall as candidate in the by-election. And the Reading Chronicle did a piece on the planned privatisation of the libraries, which quoted me! So all in all, the election campaign is going well, and I've yet to start physically canvassing!
It makes me a little bit jealous that you wear a tie as part of your uniform. I always wanted to work somewhere that required you to wear a tie... Seriously, sometimes I think about buying a whole new wardrobe and always wearing ties. Congratulations! Woohoo, good luck! It sounds like all of that means something good to me! Great to hear that your campaign is going well so far! I'm just happy to be going to Arizona today. I had a really, really sh*tty experience at practice on Tuesday and ended up leaving half an hour early in tears, and then I was scared to go to practice yesterday because I didn't want to have another run in with the people who caused it (god, I sound like such a little b*tch, but seriously...it sucked). We aren't going to be down there for very long, but I'm hoping spending some time with my family and friends will help get me back on track.
Haha, I've always wanted to wear a tie too. I hoped that my school uniform would let me, but alas no. I just think it'd be awesome to wear a tie, I'm not sure why.
I think my burning desire to wear a tie comes from going to church when I was younger. The boys had to wear ties, and I always wanted to, but I wasn't allowed to. So now I just want to buy a bunch of cool ties and wear them everywhere.
When I was driving home today it suddenly started raining. But I noticed the road behind me was still dry. So I stopped the car, and I actually walked out of the rain. Which was so fun, I had to run in and out of it several times before getting back in the car
It was just raining a second ago and it stopped. So I did a lot on my novel...at the expense of getting no work done, haha...but I'm going to hit the 10K mark by later on today at this pace. (Not a lot, but I only started this book less than a couple weeks ago, it's my YA fantasy that I had this really cool/creepy idea for).
Mmmk but then in all fairness I challenge you to shoot for 11k by the end of the weekend instead of 10k.
Oh I was shooting for 10K by the end of Friday. I'm going for 13K by the end of the weekend. Mwuahahaha.
