Woot! I have great friends (both here and in real life), a wonderful family, and managed to snag a bit of overtime during the summer.

SUMMER SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER!!! :D I have my final tomorrow. I have to do about 100 problems (for extra credit and review) tonight, but it's almost over, and I will never ever have to look at algebra again.

Also happy because I got the dishes done today. I've been living on my own for about a week now, and hadnt done the dishes, the laundry, or taken out the garbage. I got something done today, heheh. I miss my mommy, but I like being on my own. The nights are much nicer... :p

Also happy because (to continue from Wrey's TV theme) my favourite dancer made it through on So You Think You Can Dance? :)

And in between summer school, chores, and television, I had a marvelous day with some of my favourite people.

I spent the day out on the lake with my aunts. (I'm learning that the no-children thing gives you options like buying large, expensive boats.) Then we met up with a different aunt and now, I'm staying in her house, with her husband, black lab, and three year old boy.

I get my own bathroom. My own shower. My own queen sized bed. Computer access. AND I get to wake up to a toddler. Who is precious and adorable and sweet.

    :D Man, I am happy.

I had a fantastic day with my boyfriend in London today, even if the film was ridiculous..still, it's fun seeing something that rubbish with my man :p We had a good laugh, and it was free because he won the tickets in a competition! :D

Matthew completely lights up my life, I love him with all my heart. He's my best friend.

    That's why i'm happy

Spent the morning chatting to the chairman of the German Horror Writers' Circle all morning (despite it being 4.30am for him!). Always cheers me up to chat to new people in the same business. plus, he's giving his publisher a little nudge in my direction. Das ist gut, ya? ;)

My manager had me help him close the store today. I've still got a bit of a wait for the paperwork for my promotion to go through, but it was fun getting a little bit of training in. :)

I needed an 80% on my final to pass with a solid B.
Guess who got a 79% on the final...? I'm not kidding.
Guess who gave Mercy a pity point? :D

My transcript now reflects a B next to the course "Algebra 2-2."

I'm taking one final math course my senior year which starts in 2.5 weeks, and then I never have to look back. For the courses I want to major in at the schools I want to attend, one school has no math requirement and the other requires one year for one of the degrees (B.S. in Psych) I want to earn.

    YAY!

I got my school schedule! YAY!

The important classes: Child development (the class where you take the little robot baby home)
    AND
Hon. Art (the teacher loves me AND thinks I'm a nuisance and the reason her hair turned gray)

I gave my husband the Watchmen last night. Today I looked on Twitter and saw he had posted this, "My awesome wife came home with a copy of the Special Edition Blue-Ray of Watchmen for me. I don't deserve this. Week officially made." :)

Is the film actually any good?

Having read the graphic novel, I'm worried it'll be a sack of crap...

I've heard that it's only good to people who have read the graphic novel.

Aww, how nice! That would have made my week, too. :)

I heard the same. Joel really wants to rent it, but I don't understand why...he's not particularly into any comics, let alone Watchmen. I think he's just trying to nerd out like I do. He's jealous of my comic-loving nerd awesomeness.

Thing is, I don't think they can manage to get the whole awesomeness of the graphic novel into a film.

Not to mention I've been unimpressed with Zack Snyder's previous work.

I enjoyed the film. Don't expect to be blown away, but I'd say it's definitely worth a watch at the very least.
A particularly good performance by the actors who play Rorschach and The Comedian.

The Comedian and Rorschach are done spot-on in the film. And somehow they managed to reach into my brain and even get the voices correct lol. I enjoyed the movie a lot, but the comic is one of my all-time favorite pieces of media ever. Can't wait for the ultimate edition DVD with Tales of the Black Freighter woven into it! Woot four-hour Watchmen!

... Comic books. LOL, I've never picked up a comic book (graphic novels / manga, yes, but comics, no). Glad you're husband was thrilled though, Mina! :)

To redirect, I had one of the best interviews of my entire life today, and that includes one celebrity and my 'favourite' scientist (I sound like such a nerd, heh. Which is a good thing ;) ). I spoke to a mother and daughter about the child relinquishment case they had to go through. Not particularly "happy," but I was so touched by their story... I even teared up a little bit when the mom was talking about having her come home. I hope I can do them justice in my article.
