How funny, I assumed it was still pretty hot down in AZ (despite what I kept hearing from my friends down there) because when Joel's mom got up here (from Mesa), she was complaining about how cold it was. Silly mother-in-law...

Also, stray cats are fun. One visited me on our porch the other day, and Joel didn't understand why it made me so happy.

I got my Halloween costume today. It. Is. Awesome.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently tied for first place in the NHL. And it even took 8 less games than last year for the first win!

I am cuddling with my favourite person in the world listening to NSync and catching up on my bio reading. I look forward to the road trip home tomorrow with him. I get to sleep in MY OWN BED, use MY OWN BATHROOM, see MY OWN DOG, and eat REAL FOOD tomorrow.

I went shopping with a good friend of mine and bought an awesome jacket today. It is warm and cute. :)

    That's quite an achievement! Congratulations!
How long did it take you to write it?

I've been writing it, slowly, since about May I believe. It's such a relief to get it finished! I was happy, nervous, and rather sad all at the same time.

It was so weird to think "that story is finished". Whilst writing it, all I seemed to do was think up new conflicts and situations for my characters, as if their story would be never ending. And then all of a sudden, it did end, because the last "event" had occurred and there was nothing left to tell.

I feel a bit lost, hah. Oh well...I'll soon be cursing it I suppose, when I go in for my first edit.

Lol, editing an entire novel must be stressful.
I spend much more time editing than writing, even when it's a short story, but that must be because I make a lot of mistakes when I'm writing the first time, because of the language and I get confused some times... Probably not your case!
Anyway, Good luck with your novel :)

I am currently happy because after trying to write my novel and deleting the whole thing about 4 times, I am finally creating a decent storyline and researching it properly. I will write it during the Nanowrimo, since I have a lot of free time. I'm excited!

I'm going to see this Lion thing - a display of lion sculptures that are wonderfully decorated - and the original Simba from the Lion King musical is going to be singing, and there's going to be African drumming and yeah, I'm excited. Today should be goood. :D

Ash I tried to give you rep for finishing your novel but apparently I've been giving you a bit too much recently!

To say I'm a bit of a procrastinator is an understatement, so to see your progress is definitely a kick up the butt. It has galvanised me to attack my novel and stop making excuses by sitting back thinking about ideas for short stories. Thanks for that :) xx

Found a story I wrote last year--and had forgotten about. It's a bit dark for a women's magazine, so I trimmed it to the required 3,000 word length for a competition. I spent about 2 hours on the net checking the comp hasn't been mentioned as a scam anywhere before sending it off. Only 3GBP entrance fee.

It seems legit, but I'm such a pessimist I'm still not saying the name of the UK based comp because I don't want anyone to tell me even the tiniest bad thing about it and burst my bubble (sorry folks, if such a thing arose I do realise you'd have only the best intentions!)

Now I feel very industrious and purposeful :)

Nothing better for a writer than feeling industrious and purposeful. I feel like that today and I'm hoping it lasts the whole weekend and hopefully, beyond.

All the best with the competition!

Good luck madhoca! There's nothing wrong with being cautious! :)

And I'm happy because I got my computer problems worked out with the aid of a friend and a great program called Ad-Aware. :D

This whole thing made me realize just much crap there is on this machine and will be getting a thorough pruning tomorrow.

    Thanks, Hidden and Annuniel!
The closing date is 15th November, so I won't hear for a while.

I also decided to try some stories for Christmas-themed comps. I'll do a few and send the best off--I thought I'd maybe use them as gifts to members of my family later. The rate I write I'll have to start now to finish on time.

Yesterday was a long, hard day.
I was hoping and hoping that I'd get home to find an email waiting for me.
    I was not disappointed. :)

    Edit:
And this morning I am extremely happy for some reason. I feel...free? Also, I'm reading a very good book so I suppose that helps. Oh, and not to mention the morning being slow at work and getting to chat up my best girl all the while. And good coffee. Life is good.
    :)

    Edit Edit:

AND ON TOP OF THAT, I just saw the two teaser trailers for HBO's Game of Thrones Series.
I am as excited as a schoolgirl at a Robert Pattinson convention.

I'm just happy. The kind of happy like... everything is just perfect, and everything will be. Plus talking to my guy, which is always nice awesome. :)

I'm happy because I have three days off work which I will hopefully spend working on my novel. Must not get distracted!

Me too. I have today and tomorrow off, and hopefully I won't get distracted either. I've been putting my story on hold just because I've been tired lately. Weird...
